Severe migraines are no joke. Im busy puking my guts out with them. And theres so many types of migraines too. Got a vestibular migraine that caused me to get vertigo for 3 weeks. If this is the cause, thats a legitimate reason to stay off the ice

I do my fair share of ripping on the Leafs, but I don’t attack individual players. People need to cut these guys some slack. At the end of the day they’re people just like us. If the tables were turned I’m sure many of the people who talk trash wouldn’t want to come online and see people speaking negatively about them.
You can rip individual players but there's a line between critiquing on and off ice things. Personal attacks are not on board but they're paid a lot to perform and if they aren;t as a fan you can say so lol
If everyone in the comment section had a million in their bank account there'd be alot less negative comments

Just the timing is what people are having a hard time wrapping their heads around. He hasn’t missed a game in 7 years, he plays in a meaningless game 82, plays the full game without a noticeable incident then somehow he’s out for game one the most important game of his life.

It should have come out earlier. The majority of normal people understand totally that you can’t play under these circumstances let alone manage to even walk to your bathroom with a migraine.
But he took part in team practice after game 2, and laughed and skated with the guys, or was that just a rumor?

it is nobody else's business when it comes to anyone's personal health. It is weird that athletes health is public..it is a job and there are HIIPA laws

Personal medical conditions should not be reported on by the media unless released by the individual involved. If I were Willy I'd start a law suit to stop this from happening in the future.

A couple of things . First , Toronto sports franchises suck they have a few years of a bright spot then disappear for decades .
The media goes on and on about climate change , but when earm weather shows up they are giddy with excitement . " Bring the heat" !!
The pressure of expectation is weighing on him. A high salary does indeed come with a price for some people.
That and the first direct hit he's had against him in a long time vs. Detroit or Florida; forgot which.

Because the NHL is in bed with betting sites anytime there is an injury or anything should be mandatory full disclosure. I don't bet but this really puts in question about the legitimacy of the league. With no explanation sorry the mind goes there as millions if not billions on the line. Between the Raptors situation with betting and Otani's betting situation and how quickly both disappeared. Only solution full disclosure or ban sports betting.
Leafs only made the playoffs with Auston Matthew’s goal output! Take away all those 1 goal and OT wins and the Leafs would not be playing post-season. You need a team to win in the playoffs!
And to win in the playoffs requires: depth, solid goaltending and very good defence, which Toronto lack.

This is a good chance for the other guys to really step up their game, especially Marner. Can’t just rely on Mathews & Nylander. Tavares, Domi, Bertuzzi, Marner, Samsonov, Rielly gotta step up and play much more aggressive against a physical team like Boston.

This is not news. We have heard migraines for the last few days.
Doesn't matter. The Leafs are gonna lose the series with Nylander or without him. They will never get anywhere with this core four - zero chance!

Migraines suck..but everyone goes to work with those..I do and I’m a construction worker. he played every single game, impeccable timing that it started 1st day of the playoffs…and if he was having them before the playoffs, means that he was playing for 100 points then bailed when he failed to do so. I am sure he got tested to make sure that it’s nothing life threatening such as an aneurysm or a tumour, which I’m glad it is not….but a migraine, no sympathy here from me.
No. “Everyone” does not go to work with migraines. I’m not sure what sort of migraines you have: but perhaps learn before you spread misinformation.

@@bucketophilI suffer from them all the time ….I have no time for migraines I keep popping Advil till I reach the magic number that the migraine stops …sometimes I take 12 or more Advil but it gets rid of it every time… I can’t stop life for a migraine nor should anyone have to….but a lot of people today will call in sick with a hangnail …lol

Other than Matthews sometimes playing as a super star - the Leaf Core 4 don’t make a positive difference except in the regular season.
Sorry for Nylander’s mental health issues - headaches are a serious issue.
It likely doesn’t matter if Nylander plays in playoff games or not - the Leafs are like 8 wins versus 1 loss without Core 4 players like Morgan. So these overpaid Leaf Core 4 playoff disappointments - don’t really matter in the playoffs, and they don’t really help us Leaf Playoff supporters. It is players like Domi who work and really care. 😀 Go Leafs go!

Why bother getting pounded by the Bruins when he can sit out and get his cookies during the regular season? If he comes back Marchand will personally help his recovery.

Nylander isn't playing because he got a new set of Ping Golf Clubs and decided to test them out a few days earlier then the rest of the team.
Those new pings are pretty sweet a bit pricey but with Willy's new contract I doubt they will break the bank. Gotta cut Willy some slack I'd certainly be anxious to put them into play.
