We're getting soooo excited about returning to Alaska, especially while watching your videos! It will have been over 25 years since our last wonderful Princess cruise tour there. During our land portion, we got to dip our toes in the Arctic. Then we saw caribou rubbing the velvet off their antlers on the oil pipeline, and had a mama grizzly bear stop our coach to cross the Dalton highway right in front of us with her two cubs! Alaska is amazing!
We were on the same cruise with you!! Loved the Discovery Princess--a lot has changed since my first cruise to Alaska on Princess 18 years ago. The biggest surprise was the sheer number of people at each port and even on the ship. I was completely overwhelmed by the number of people everywhere. We were disappointed by the amount of time we had in some of the ports especially in Victoria. We will be sailing again to Alaska, loved it.
The scam alert is valuable.....the advice goes for anything. If someone is offering you a deal on a service or product that you find interesting get the info and then call that company back and see if they know anything about it. Most often they won't. Thanks for the reminder.
We were fortunate and had perfect weather for our entire trip, all sunny 14 days. We enjoyed Hubbard much more than both of our Glacier Bay stops. The ranger booth was nice. Picked up the National Park Passport and glacier pins. June 15th on Royal Princess.
Great video, thankyou. We are headed to Alaska on the Dis overy on Sept 7th. Where did you go up on deck on the Discovery in Glacier Bay for viewing? We have a balcony but want to go up on deck too.
We were just up on the pool Lido Deck and above. It was quite crowded. We have found that if you go aft, up to the Sport Deck, then up to the miniature golf deck on Deck 19, especially near the end of the time at a glacier, there are likely fewer people and you are as high as you can go.
@@LetsGoTravelTips thankyou. Love all your videos, info and tips. I have been following for awhile. I so appreciate you presentation, what a breathe of fresh air!
Hi Allison, This is Renee. Louis and I meet you on the cruise. Just wanted you to know what name we are under. Bailey Jean is our Momma fur baby. 😂 It was a thrill to meet you in person! Tell your hubby Hi from Texas. We will be in touch after our next trip with some comparisons for Alaskan cruises. We had a great day at Glacier Bay. I loved the calfing at Marjorie glacier. Even though we struggled the fog it was very memorable.
Newly subscribed! Thanks for your tips Allison. I’m interested in your recommended book list and in reading more about Glacier Bay having just gotten back from our Alaska cruise a week ago. The link on your website for your Alaska books recommendations is not working.
THANK YOU for this reminder. I was going to post a question to you because today i received emails and calls from a vacation planner at princess and i wondered if they were actually from princess! I just ignored them!
Hi -Thank you for your video- You mentioned books about glacier bay that you liked that would be linked below your video. I clicked on your Amazon link below your video and the category of books was at the bottom of the page . However there were no books visibly listed under the book heading
Just went on a Pricess cruise and found just a queen size bed. Not good when one is six foot five. What princess cruise ships have king size beds? If none, what’s the best way to get a message to the Princess management that Americans are getting taller and this is a very attractive feature? Thank you.
Allison ~ (Ketchikan) can one book, via Princess excursion, the Lumberjack Show & crab lunch you mentioned or does that combo need to be booked directly with Lumberjack venue?
That’s a shame that that happened to you this time. I can’t imagine eating crab salad and cheesecake at 8 o’clock in the morning. What if you had had breakfast right before that you wouldn’t even be hungry

The crab lunch in Ketchikan was wonderful. Not rushed and as much as you wanted. I don't eat crab and they offered chicken and a vegetarian pasta.
Thank you for such important advice Allison.
We’re on Enchanted Princess. Rough seas caused us to miss the Princess Cay port. 08/03 Ft Lauderdale. Princess Cay was our 1st stop 08/04
Thanks for the info on this tour...I could not eat that in the morning but the rest sounds nice.

Thanks for the great information and for sharing your adventures on cruise with honesty. We are going to Alaska on HAL at the end of August.
Great video, so helpful. We'll make it to AK one day.

I agree the more knowledge about the area the more exciting the trip was. I bought several books. I will let you know how they are!

When Holland has made me real offers they always email me. Then I call the Holland number.
Love the wildlife, wish I was there. 😅
I just love Alaska, on Princess. In April/May, I went on Carnival. Not the same😢 and no Glacier Bay.
Is Princess still having Puppies in the Piazza?
Yes, and it's very popular, especially with the kids.
@@LetsGoTravelTips I'm 70+ and I LOVED them!
Can you provide the titles of the books on Alaska you keep referring to? I would like to get for our upcoming land/sea cruise to Alaska. Thank you

The best way to suggest a change is to put it in the survey you received at the end of your cruise!
Allison ~ (Ketchikan) can one book, via Princess excursion, the Lumberjack Show & crab lunch you mentioned or does that combo need to be booked directly with Lumberjack venue?
I just looked on app and yes you can but $180.
Yes, you can book them together directly with Princess.

Do you recommend bringing binoculars?
Yes; helps with seeing wildlife up close.
These days unfortunately, I don’t trust anyone on the phone, on an email or text!
I can’t find the book list?
Me either!
