I don’t know what’s worse? Jon Moxley bleeding every match or his fans defending the necessity for it in every match.
One day mox is gonna end up in hospital for real. And I mean hospital not medical facility. He’s got to be on the brink of infections.
Some clown said bleeding is common in combat sports so why not wrestling. I told him that bleeding can add danger to the match. Cuts and blood can cause doctor or referee stoppage. When someone feels they have to bleed in 99% of their matches, then it becomes lame. Moxley has nothing else to lean on. He was better in WWE because they knew how to control him and keep things professional.
I grew up in the attitude era And I don't think that blood should be used all the time It should be used sparingly To enhance the right story. When it is used all the time for a cheap pop, then it takes all of the emotion out of it
Blood should be used when the story calls for it and not in every single match best Example Cody Vs Dustin at AEW double or nothing 2019 having blood in every match makes it less impactful the more you do it.

I don't watch AEW, unless it's a UA-cam highlight from a wrestler like Joe or Punk, so I haven't been numbed to the over use of blood. When Lesnar got color against Rhodes, my whole house went nuts. Stuff like that would be weakened if more wrestlers believed like Moxley.
It's not only Moxley. There is a lot of blood in general in AEW. Moxley is just the one who nearly bleeds in every match. And they are often not only bleeding but they are bleeding like a pig getting slaughtered.
Listening to the segment, it's exactly what he wants. "If every match has blood, it's just part of the sport" was what he said and that's just incredibly stupid.
The reasons you see more blood in the UFC is because of muay thai elbows and the gloves themselves can create cuts bc of the way they're stitched together.

One thing that is interesting about SI’s coverage of AEW is that they were all over CM Punk “saving the company” when he returned a few weeks ago. Not sure if Justin Barrasso wrote that piece as well, but it’s interesting that their articles kind of contradict each other (ie: Moxley is the star of AEW, no it’s Punk, no it’s Moxley - all from the same source)

I don't mind the theory of a little blood more often. A scrape, a little nose trickle in every couple of matches a PPV. I have never seen this theory implemented, though--Moxley either gigs out a gusher or... isn't in a match is the other option.
