This movie never gets old. RIP Bill Paxton and Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
I LOVE this movie!!! rip to those fantastic actors!!
And the actor who played Rabbit. He died, too. RIP.
Soundtrack is amazing
@@oougahersharr Alan Ruck is still very much alive. It's just Bill and Phillip who passed on.
@@jeannieschmidt2217 weird. My mom said he died and she loves that actor. I'll let her know. Thanks.
One of the reasons this movie holds up is because of the way Melissa is portrayed. Not as the other woman causing issues, she's someone you genuinely like and care for, and she handles the ending of the relationship so well, she understands.
I was thinking this exactly. Her attitude and approach with the relationship had an impact and definitely made an impression on me as a young girl when this came out. And then it's odd to think about how such a normal, reasonable, mature attitude like hers is so rarely depicted. I guess dysfunction is more theatrical? And what is the impact to people when in turn they are seeing relationships modeled in these unhealthy but dramatic ways and thinking this is how relationships work?
And they don't just resort to killing her off, like most other disaster movies do to the 'other' love interest.
I like how the love triangle was handled. It wasn't all cliched. There was no villain, nobody scheming ,conniving, or manipulating. Just three people making their choices and coming to terms with their feelings.
And for the most part, Healthy. They weren't toxic. They were healthy, mostly-respectful (Jo had her moments), adults.
One of the best depictions of this kind of Love Triangle in _all_ of fiction.
Agreed
Naw he was an ass for getting engaged before he even got a divorce
Real life tornado chasers really appreciated this movie, so much so that when Bill Paxton died, they positioned themselves in the midwest with their storm chasing vehicles. Their positions on GPS spelled out his initials as they were hundreds of miles apart. Pretty impressive feat. I was in an F5 tornado at the age of 10, one of the largest ever recorded. I didn't go into meteorology as a profession, but have been fascinated with tracking weather as a hobby ever since. Look up the Xenia Ohio 1974 tornado. That's the one that destroyed my town. It stays with you
I posted the video tribute above
As you see I'm a fellow buckeye and now down by cincy. Stay safe - weather has been beyond bipolar and have no idea what's next!
@@andreadeamon6419 We must have been online at the same time because I looked before I mentioned that. Hello fellow buckeye!
@@andreadeamon6419 I live in Alaska now. We have a who different set of weather issues!
@@BirchLeafPhotography sweet. My daughter used to live in fairbanks. I loved the pictures that she would share. Stay warm
Bill Paxton is the person you recognized. He was in “Aliens, “Titanic” and “Tombstone” to name a few of his most well known roles.
He was also 8n Weird Science and Big Love on HBO.😊
Also Apollo 13.
"True Lies"!
He also directed and was in the video for the song "Fish Heads".
"Game over man, game over!"
From Aliens.
FLORIDA MAN HERE.
A word to the wise: if you're ever faced with a tornado scooping you up and you think that tying yourself to a pipe that runs deep underground will save you, JUST KEEP RUNNING.
A force that can rip trees out of the ground and decimate houses will ABSOLUTELY be a giant blender to a human body. The filmmakers did a spectacular job at showing the kind of power and damage that a tornado can do, but that's the one part that they got wrong, and has been a colossal joke among fans of this movie for years.
Maybe parts of their forearms would be left strapped to that pipe, but the rest of them would have been turned into jam.
I'm from Oklahoma and have lived through quite a few tornadoes ..have stories that would make the hairs on your arm raise. This was very surprisingly accurate. F5's are not very common thank God...F2 's and F3's or bad enuff and can cause serious death and damage. The debris flying is what makes tornadoes lethal. This movie never grows old they did an amazing job!! So .glad you got to watch this!! Love your reactions!!
Comedian Ron White said something about hurricanes that is 100% applicable to tornadoes. "It's not THAT the wind is blowin', it's WHAT the wind is blowin'."
One bit of real crazy thing about this movie Twister. Is in 1996 when that movie came out I saw a story on the News on tv that there was a drive-in movie theater, I cannot remember which state, but the people watching a movie in their cars and suddenly a real tornado hit them. The movie they were all watching was "Twister" there is a scene in the movie where a tornado hits a movie theater as well but this one was in real life. Very insane coincidence!
Fun fact! My husband had a drama teacher who was friends with one of the assistant directors of this movie ( K. C. Hodenfield) and durning the summer his teacher was always a background actor in one of Holdenfield's movie's and would come back to the Midwest with all these stories. Well, this time, he came back with one of the famous blue shirts Bill Paxton wears throughout this movie. There were several. It has his initials in it, and he gave it to my husband. It still hangs in our closet. (BTW my husband says his teacher is some medic you see for half a second in this movie)
❤
Thanks for sharing 😊
Wow! That's a treasure! 🤯❤
Another Favorite ❤❤❤ RIP Bill Paxton & Philip Seymour Hoffman 😢
To quote the great comedian Ron White: "It's not THAT the wind is a blowin, but WHAT the wind's a blowin". 🤣 Another great reaction to a real classic of a movie. Dusty is literally my spirit animal if I'm being completely honest lol. Keep up the great work brother. 🤘🇺🇸
I grew up about 20 miles from Wakita, Oklahoma where a lot of the damage scenes were filmed for this movie and where Aunt Meg lives. Having seen many many tornadoes at varying intensities and distances, this is probably the most realistic depiction of tornadoes I have seen in a movie and the sound work is absolutely incredible!
The meteorologist at the beginning was the real one that we watched growing up in Oklahoma. If Gary England said get to the store cellar then you got there fast!
You don’t need to hold the door shut. The dad should have left it alone. I remember yelling that at the screen as a kid
It would have sucked them all out like a vacuum though.
Outside of rare circumstances (or really crap designed shelters) you are not going to have a vacuum effect strong enough to rip an adult out of an underground shelter. He could have been concerned about debris but he still made a bad call.
"Dorothy" was named after Dorothy Gayle, the lead character in the movie "the Wizard of Oz", who in her dream was in her house that went into the center of a tornado, and landed over the rainbow, killing a witch. If yo have never seen that movie, you should. It is an American classic, made in 1939.
Honestly, I think The Wizard of Oz may be the single most over-rated thing ever.
Bill Paxton is the main guy. Hes been in great war movies and Aliens. Jonas is Cary Elwes. Hes in a ton of movies. A lot of silly ones like “Robin Hood Men in Tights” and “The princess Bride”
the Princess Bride was not silly. it`s about perseverence through adversity
The Princess Bride is a true classic.
I love Cary! I watched an interview with him & gained great appreciation for the person he really is! ❤
R.I.P. to Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Bill Paxton. They were both great actors.
Twister was the second highest grossing film of 1996. Independence Day was first.
Fun Fact: Twister was the first film released on DVD.
Bought it!
The explosions you always see during tornadoes are the transformers on electric poles. In elementary school I lived in Omaha Nebraska right in tornado alley. I’ve seen more than my share of tornadoes. The one time I remember the most was on the 4th of July when my family had just gotten to the hill where people watched the fireworks and as soon as we got to the top my dad turned around and just told us to run back to the car. He actually saw the tornado when he crested the hill. We raced home (about 15 miles) and got into our shelter when people in the neighborhood started showing up because we had the best shelter on the street. Thankfully it didn’t hit our street but it came within 2 blocks. The man who is now my fiancée lived 4 houses down and he remembers his family going to my house that night. I’ve seen a pine needle that went straight through a tree trunk after a tornado before. That was mind blowing
I love all the homages to other iconic films from the past, especially The Wizard of Oz! The dog in the beginning, Toby, is the same breed as Toto. There was a cow flying the the tornado in Wizard of Oz. Of course, the instrument pack is Dorothy. When they are at the motel, a Judy Garland movie is playing in the background.
I also love the big movie screen flying apart right when Jack is breaking apart the door in The Shining.
I saw the trailer for Twister in the movie theater before anyone had heard of it. There was a scene in the trailer that never made it in the movie. A piece of a building flew directly at the camera. So cool on the big screen!
I I don’t think people really understand how gruesome a tornado can be. Animals of all sorts get picked up in the storms. Cleanup doesn’t just involve cleaning up building debris but also carcasses/remains.
A lot of people became storm chasers because of this movie and sales for the 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 & 2500 skyrocketed as well. Twister was one of several disaster movie hits of the 1990s. Others includes movies such as Dante’s Peak, Volcano, and Armageddon. All are a must watch.
Imagine watching Dante's Peak with a surround sound system at a pretty high volume as a kid. Great movie but it made the movie more terrifying
Twister will always hold up to time. Its not nearly as corny as other disaster films of the era. One of my all time favs
So true. The special effects were top notch, the product of a lot of hard work. And the actors were great. Phillip and Bill left behind a beloved legacy.
Into the Storm has pretty good special effects but the acting is pretty awful and awkward at the same time
I'm so so glad you watched this movie. Its my favourite movie of all time. Its what got me interested in weather and tornadoes in particular, which lead me to school for meteorology. Even tho I was born in 2000 (23 years old) this movie is so nostalgic
I've lived all my life in a place where tornadoes are not uncommon. I'm 62 and I've never seen one. Two times I think there was one that barely grazed my property, causing tree damage....You just have to be aware of the weather. It IS wise to have a place to go when tornadoes happen (basement/inner room/storm cellar). And, I know it sounds insane, but it truly is absolutely possible for a tornado to pick up farm equipment, trucks, move houses, and animals and people.
This movie is one of my favorites in the tornado genre. Always lives up to itself even today. There's technically a 2nd one in the works
I forgot to mention, I have a VHS tape of this movie that I bought from a Goodwill for $1. Don't have a VHS player though but I highly guarantee that Twister isn't even on the tape. Probably a *explicit recording* on it lol
Whatever's on.that tape should probably be called twist in her!
There is. They start filming in a couple of weeks
@@thehonestwoodcutterbradywe8011 lol
@@NuKnightRider i hope they do a great job on it. They better not go the lazy route and put in video clips of real tornadoes that have happened in the past 35 years
One of my "go to" movies. Bill is/was played by actor Bill Paxton. Some of the movies he's been in are Apollo 13...Aliens... Terminator...True Lies & Titanic (to name a few) great actor...passed away in 2017
R.I.P.
Unlike some other storm chasers carry elwes can speak with a southern accent!
Saw this in theaters with my family, not quite opening weekend but very soon afterward. Weather was bad, heavy rain and thunderstorm. What we didnt know was the roof of the theater had a small leak. So sometime during the show, some rain came down on a woman who shrieked! Added to the experience!
Nice! 😂
I saw it at a drive in. It was wild
Twister is probably my all time favorite movie, I watched this over 100 times as a kid even though it terrified me and gave me nightmares. Sone kids were obsessed with dinosaurs and have dinosaur Trapper Keepers cause Jurassic Park but my friends and I were obsessed with tornadoes.
Then a year or two after this movie came out around 1997 or 1998 we went on a class trip to the Franklin Institute that just recently opened a tornado exhibit that had the actual one of the Dorothy props from this movie and was able to touch it.
I'm NOT proud of this but some of the paint was starting to peel so I peeled a tiny piece of paint off that was part of Dorothy's blue dress. I think I still have it. But now that I'm older I realize that was a pretty sh*tty thing to do.
The house left standing at the end is about 10 miles from my house.. fun fact -- parts of the movie were filmed in Iowa
Love this movie. We lost 2 giants that were in the movie - Bill Paxton and Phillip Seymour Hoffman. The soundtrack to this movie is amazing! I'm from Alabama and we've had absolutely devastating tornadoes over the years and this film really shows the different kinds of tornadoes there are and any community can have multiple tornadoes all day long. Really enjoyed your reaction. Thank goodness for tornado warning systems!
One crazy aspect to tornadoes is that they are totally unpredictable. Like Joe says it can spare houses right next to yours and destroy yours. Houses totally untouched while houses around them are levelled. Playing cards stuck into trees, stems of straw into the sides of houses . . . . it's almost supernatural.
My uncle lived in a neighborhood in Alabama that got hit by a tornado several years ago. He only lost the roof off his shed, while the house around the corner from his house was completely obliterated. It was surreal to see the damage a tornado can do.
Helen Hunt is the main actress. Shes insanely famous too.
This was a great theater experience! Love your reactions
The sound effects for this movie were awesome coming out of the theater speakers. It was like you were right in the middle of it all.
My two sisters and I got to see this movie on the big screen when it came out. We were in the front row, so I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. My younger sister was lying all the way back in her seat and chewed up the entire straw in her soda pop. My big sister who has seen a lot in her life was just chilling.
I remember seeing this movie in the theaters. I absolutely love it. Every time it's on TV I would watch it. RIP Bill Paxton & Philip Seymour Hoffman 💙
One of favorites ever. Long time cruch on Helen Hunt. Great real effects in this using practical effects. Same director as Robocop and Starship Troopers
I'm so glad I suggested this to you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's one of my favorite movies.
Is filmed where places in Oklahoma. Actually had some tornado come near while filming
Phillip Seymour Hoffman is amazing. He plays a lovable frat boy here and then years later plays Truman Capote. And Bill Paxton went down in history with his hilarious improvised "game over man, game over!" from Aliens.
As someone who studied to be a Meteorologist and wanted to be a storm chaser for a time, this movie holds a special place for me. Still holds up, AND we're finally getting a sequel after all these years. Sadly, Bill Paxton passed away a few years ago and only Helen Hunt is confirmed to be in the sequel (supposedly it'll be about their kid(s) taking up the mantle with an even more insane tornado outbreak). As for when Bill Paxton passed, actual storm chasers in the mid-west etc used GPS and all lined up to spell out his initials on a google map of the GPS because of how actually accurate this movie is to the storm chaser crowd. Obviously not super accurate when it comes to the tornadoes (though not far off to be fair) the storm chaser life is quite a bit similar to the movie, so they paid tribute to Bill Paxton.
Except the sequel isn't gonna have anything to do with the 1st one, the original idea was Bill and Jo's daughter was gonna go into storm chasing after her dad passes away but they went a different way, and in my opinion worse way
RIP Bill Paxton and Philip Seymour Hoffman
It's hard to imagine ANY sequel to this masterpiece without the two most standout characters of the original, and genuine amazing humans. What an unbelievable thrill ride this was and movie theater experience as a kid watching this.
I personally lived in tornado alley for years in the Texas region, around the Dallas/Fort Worth area and various others and tornado drills were a real thing growing up in school; just as regular or more as fire drills were. Been in two tornadoes that I was fortunate to avoid serious harm, simply by genuine luck if anything. An enormous well built theater as we were watching Titanic I think, that kept us sheltered (the sight from the exit door was out of this world). The other was as a 5th grade living in Plano, Texas that we avoided just out of sheer fortune; bundled up together with family in the closet.
I'll tell you, growing up in those regions just in my own experience, heavy thunderstorms are my happy weather. Call me crazy but I love a grey sky. Claps of Thunder, lightening, and rain get me all excited and anxious at the same time.
Favorite line of the movie: We got cows!
Another cow. I think that's the same cow. 😅
I saw this at the drive in theater.imagine.sitting. in your car watching this when it desteoys.the drive I. Theater!!
Tornadoes really aren't that common, but severe thunderstorms are.
When the sirens go off we all go outside and chat up the neighbors and look at the sky and then when it starts to "go green" we slowly drift back to our porches and listen to the local weather and watch until the hail starts.
After the hail it goes dead silent before the wind really picks up - and that's when you need to head inside.
It's so bad around here that we have signs every five hundred yards on the the major roadways that say "When Thunder Roars Go Indoors ⚡" 😊
One of my favorite disaster movies and definitely my favorite tornado movie. There's one called Tornado starring Bruce Campbell that I really like as well. I have a whole collection of disaster movies...well movies in general to be honest.
Saw this in the theater abd the surround sound whenever the tornados appeared actually made it feel like the seats were shaking.
Live ,volcano, Dantes peak, deep impact, Armageddon,
A remake is coming out next year with Glen Powell (he played Hangman in Top Gun: Maverick) in Bill Paxton's role.
Not to mention we just had a film drop this year (March 17, 2023) called Supercell and It's a “Twister” sequel in everything but name. The kid in the film even says Bill Brody is his father. I'm still looking forward to what the actual Twister sequel will have in store for us, though.
The very real, very tragic reality is that man storm chasers have been killed doing this job. There is actually pretty famous dashcam footage, of a pair of storm chasers whom completely misinterpreted the path of a tornado and both were killed. This is one of my all time favorite movies, both filled me with a fascination with tornadoes...and made me terrified of them.
Not from a tornado, but when I was with the Red Cross, I have seen a house that looked like it was rolled a quarter mile from it's home site onto the center of a roadway, as a result of storm surge during Hurricane Rita (on our way to Cameron, LA). More likely knocked over and floated down the highway. Someone had painted the house address in big white letters on its side, with "Please return to this address". I can't see a tornado rolling a structure, picking it up and tossing maybe.
Completely fair rating. I love this movie and yeah, it never gets old. I don’t know for sure, but I think most of it was pretty realistic. And those sound effects. The growling and roars get me every time.
This movie, and Dante's Peak (released the same year, I think) are two of my all-time favorite movies. They're just so re-watchable.
Currently in KS, (4-27-2024), watching your reaction during a tornado outbreak. (We've only had 3 so far)
Tornados aren't something we constantly think about. We have tornado season which is right now thru May. If you look up Andover, Ks. Tornado, you'll see a ton of videos of people standing around while it's going by.
First movie to use that bodystyle Dodge Ram. Walked in dealer bought every red match one they had
Fun fact Jamie Gertz who plays Melissa is the richest actress in the world. She has not been in a huge amount of movies but she is an astute investor and worth three billion dollars!
My favorite movie reference to natural disasters.
The truck continued to drive through the corn field was due to him setting the Cruise Control.
And yes, houses do actually roll across the highway.
I'm a native Minnesotan, tornado alley is part of us. The scariest part IMHO is at night, when everyone is asleep. Although we, like most here have a basement, ours is extremely small, within 6ft of the furnace and gas water heater. I'm not convinced it's the best area if a tornado comes through. 😮
I grew up in the Midwest. Every spring we had tornado drills at school and I definitely have memories of the sky going yellow-green and mom taking us all down to the basement until the radio sounded the all-clear.
This exactly
Fun Fact.Aunt Meg was in the James Dean movie East of Eden.
Love how in this movie when the tornado destroys the drive in screen that was playing The Shining, the tornado waited until the scene when Jack Nicholson says his famous line.
Love this movie. I got my kids hooked on it when they were young. They would stay up almost every night during summer break and watch this movie every night
strapping yourself to the well pipes is a real thing.
Coincidentally, my sister-in-law told me they had a tornado watch yesterday out where they are in Texas. The actor you are talking about driving the truck was the late Bill Paxton. You didn't notice the antagonist is Wesley from Princess Bride.
This was the first movie i seen in a theater amazing movie and in a theater was just amazing
Fun fact: one of the meteorologists you hear on the TV at Meg's house and the drive-in theater motel, Rick Mitchell, is the chief meteorologist for NBC5 in Dallas/Ft. Worth where I live. He is a FANTASTIC meteorologist and does a stellar job covering dangerous weather events. I've been an amateur weather buff all of my life, my sister is a storm chaser with SkyWarn and Spotter Network, and both of us trust him implicitly.
Still one of my favorite movies till today. The father dying at the beginning still traumatizes me. I live in the Midwest. I have never seen a tornado before. And don't plan to. I have relatives near tornado alley. Everytime there is nasty weather. Or a tornado near them. I ask my dad to call. Luckily their house is protected. Sending prayers to those/communities affected by tornadoes. Very tragic and sad. The communities/families that were affected.
Well he would have survived if he did nothing and stayed next to his family.
Anyone who has lived in or is from Oklahoma holds this movie near and dear to their heart.
Fun fact. The Meteorologist in the very beginning of the movie is named Gary England. He was a meteorologist in Oklahoma where some of this movie was shot. He retired in 2013.
You asked how many Dorothy's there where. There was 4. They said that at the beginning and after the second one was destroyed bill said lets get the last 2 on the back of my truck. The third one was taken out by the tree and finally the 4th one flew
Mark 18:31. This movie is why I've been wanting a "Dodge Ram" like his ever since the movie was new and "Dodge" was promoting it ahead of time. By the way, my best friend is a custodian for "OU" in Norman, Oklahoma, and one of the buildings that he cleans in is the meteorology department that has a museum with stuff from the movie, including the rival instruments. 😎 I have yet to take the tour, though.
They used to have a Twister attraction at Disney World. It was badass.
I hate to correct you on this, but unfortunately, the Twister attraction wasn't at Disney at all. The attraction was located at Universal Studios Florida & the attraction was called "Twister: Ride It Out." I really hope that helps you out! 😀
Tornadoes are one of the most fascinating subjects of weather. They're capable of great destruction, and yet, can be remarkably gentle. One report showed a basket of eggs had been picked up by a tornado, and it was set down without a single egg cracking. Another report showed a group of school children in Japan getting picked up by a tornado, and it set them down without so much as a bruise.A product of nature being capable of so much destruction, yet also being capable of being gentle. It's amazing.
Mark 1:46. Howdy! 🤠 Yesterday, I almost viewed this, but I didn't feel like writing then, so I put it off until now. First, that's an "oil pump"! We used to have several on our property back when we had 160 acres. (By the way! We didn't get any royalties because they were here before we were.) Now we're down to a measly 5 acres. But anyway, an "oil rig" is what they use to drill with! A truck hauls it from place to place during the oil exploration phase. Except when they are at sea and become mobile "oil platforms" that get towed by tugs. An "oil derrick" is built on the site. They are seen in a lot of movies and "WB" cartoons. The theme park "Six Flags Over Texas" claims to have "The World's Tallest Oil Derrick"! It looks like a red "Eiffel Tower"!
Now that I have that out of the way! Ahem. The movie means a lot to me as segments of it were made in Pauls Valley, Garvin County, Oklahoma & Chickasaw Nation. When I drove through one of the outdoor locations, an on-set night watchman stopped me to ask about the local nightspots. We talked for so many hours, with my car engine idling, that dawn happened before we knew it! Local immigrants were showing up to sneak some fishing in at their usual spots, and he had to go deal with them and so ended our hours long conversation.
The diner built for the movie in Maysville still exists but not as such. The locals there already had their favorite diners and didn't need an extra one. There weren't enough tourists to keep it open as a diner. So now it is used for storage, though the exterior looks the same. At least it did during my last drive by it. 🤔 For the locals, it was set too far away.
All that's left though of the scenes set at the first local reservoir known as the "Pauls Valley City Lake" is during the end credits as seen from an aerial view.
Locals that got to be used during the making of the movie were very disappointed not to see themselves in the final cut of the movie after telling people that they were in it!
Unless the business died off over time, people can take the "Official Twister Tour" of the various locations in our state
Actress Helen Hunt's family has a big ranch in the state. It is somewhere north of the city of Ada and, by coincidence, I have driven by the big entrance with their name "HUNT" above it!
Actress Jennifer Garner bought out her grandparents' big farm where the plants used for her line of health and beauty products are grown.
Reba McEntire's family has a 6,000-acre ranch!
Near where I live a farmers tractor was picked up by tornado and they found it 17 miles away across the state line and another state
I was raised in Oklahoma. There is NOTHING more harrowing, than to have the sirens go off at 2 am, get out of bed, barely getting your jeans on, gathering everyone up to run outside into the rain and hail, to get to the storm cellar! Believe me, it's the stuff that nightmares are made of! Dad would stand with the cellar door open, waiting to see the tornado before closing the door. The fear and anxiety is the same as being in wartime. We would all breath a sigh of relief, when the sirens would sound the "all clear", once the storm cloud had passed.
That's FERRIS BUELLER'S Buddy driving the GOOD GUYS TRUCK!!
I was always terrified of storms and tornadoes as a child. I was in my 30s when I saw this movie in the theater and I screamed at more than one part in it lol The first five minutes are as exciting as they last five minutes. Seeing it on the big screen was phenomenal. At the time, the special effects were truly amazing❤
I’ve seen the “Dorothy” prop from this movie. It’s 650 feet underground in the Strataca salt mine in Kansas. I think they also had a whole bunch of other films stored down there along with the Superman costume from one of the movies. Pretty neat place to visit.
Hey Kabir, I've been watching you for a while now. I'm from Georgia, US. When I was in first grade, they gathered all of the classes together to teach us about the dangers of tornados. They showed us 8 year olds a film called TERRIBLE TUESDAY, about the largest tornado that has ever hit the US at the time, in Texas on a Tuesday morning. We were shown footage and testimonials from people on that day that locked themselves in a bank vaults that were found mangled several miles down the street, and one person that had held onto a tree branch so hard that his arms were severed... Absolutely gruesome!!! No such tornados really hit here, but after that, every time there is a storm, I'm terrified!! Thanks elementary school!! Sheesh! That being said, this film is somewhat therapeutic for me.. I like your videos. Keep up the good work.
Bill Paxton was born in my hometown, Fort Worth, Texas. We're very proud of him.🤠
I love the is movie. I remember seeing it in the theater.
29:30 love the irony of the screen being ripped apart at the same time as "Jack N" rips thru the door with an axe
Mark 13:38. Okay. That's the Maysville place that I previously wrote about. 😎
Mark 39:03. Back then, cynics and skeptics alike lost it during that scene because they couldn't accept that mere belts and their arm strength could keep them there after seeing the farm buildings get destroyed. During the prologue, they probably failed to notice that her father was still holding onto that storm cellar door even as he was being lifted away with it!
Oh, yeah..this movie became famous because of the flying cow. I liked the movie because P.H. Hoffman is blasting Deep Purple during the storm chase, the guitar solo from "Sweet Child in Time"...ps..ha ha!..that would of been totally more realistic if the batteries hadbeen dead in the laptop...
The transition from the music to Van Halen was sweet.
To this day, that scene where the shelter door gets torn off its hinges is still one of the scariest things I've ever seen in a movie. I've been terrified of tornadoes since I first learned about them in school, so I hope to God I never get caught in one. And yet, I find I cannot stop watching documentaries and real-time footage of them, especially the 2013 Moore tornado, where you see it go from a squiggly pencil funnel to a raging EF-5 monster in under ten minutes.
Come on guys, 100k subscribers are knocking at the door. 🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂❤❤❤😊😊😊
This movie was my introduction to Philip Seymour Hoffman and his role in this is still my favorite. My best friend and I still quote his lines to each other.
That was an amazing reaction! Thank you so much for watching this icon! Believe it or not, they actually interviewed 2 people who actually were in the middle of the tornado and survived. So everything Bill and Jo saw were exactly as the survivors described it. Helen Hunt has also been in these films: Quarterback Princess, based on true story about a girl being a kicker on all boys football team, and Soul Surfer, which based on the true story of Bethany Hamilton’s shark attack and overcoming her obstacles to get back in the water. If you want more natural disaster films I recommend Dante’s Peak and Volcano. 👩🏼👨🏻🌪
I love this film, I watch it every time I see it on TV 😊 Not sure how I feel about the sequel that's being made but hey I'll still watch it 😂
90s movies alllll day. Any day. I’m glad you’re fascinated by tornadoes. I was born and raised in Destin Florida, which is hurricane alley. I lived through hurricane opal where my mother took on an old video camera footage of before during and after the hurricane in the early 90s and sold the footage to the national guard for training purposes.
Afterwords, we had to take boats to cross an island to get to the closest middle school, high school and hospital. Destin, Florida. It was just a spot on the map as a small fishing village and now it’s a vacation hot spot for the ultra wealthy.
This is 100% authentic and I remember seeing this in theaters. I was born in 1983. This is exactly what it’s like living in the panhandle of Florida. Also, I lived in Louisiana, Baton Rouge, and Monroe just after Katrina.
Fun Fact, Twister was the FIRST commercially purchasable DVD ever.
Not me about to lose it cause you’re reacting to this movie!!! I grew up watching it as a little kid and it’s been the driving force behind my love for tornados. I still come back to it each year.
I’ve also seen about every single tornado video on your channel 😂 you seem like a nice and open person and I can’t wait to see your reaction to this movie 😊😊😊
Mark 2:04. Gary England is a real man! Nice guy! He's retired now. David Payne took over for him.😎
Saw this in the theater & it was just amazing!! Love this movie, I watch it anytime I see that it’s on.
Competing movie was Night Of The Twisters. Don't try this at home kids!
Mark 12:13. Because I saw "Robin Hood: Men In Tights" when it was new, I don't take Cary seriously in roles like this! 😉😁
Mark 20:28. Relatively recently, despite the newer technology available since the movie, two storm chasers collided with each other and died! Why? They were gawking at the storm and not looking where they were going. That's when I wrote to someone somewhere that professional drivers that have better training than civilians, such as "OHP Troopers", should do the driving so that the scientists can focus on the weather, rather than split their attention that way.
