Just got a new GY6 150cc scooter and unless the speedometer is off it does everything on the speedometer and a little more if going down a slight decline and it has 120km/h on the speedometer that's a little over 74mph and that's stock
@flintstone4208 chinese speedos are generally way off. Use your phone to do a speed check. If it is a digital speedo, you can usually calibrate it and there are good youtube how to videos. When my wife's real vespa says 72mph and the GPS says 64mph.
I have no idea. Have to know what RPM you are currently running and then know what RPM you want to be at. From there you can figure out the percent of increase you need.
Idk what should i buy, +35% gear ratio or +20%, like for 150ccm cylinder and different camshaft. I think with +35% I will ride slower due to power lack
Ok I pretty much feel for the gimmick as u call it I spent right at 800$ with the dorbyworks Ankle biter kit with the ncy super Trans kit 2000 rpm contra spring and I got the rolling wrench gear up kit after install I whent from a factory top speed of 63 mph to 54 max after install was very pissed I put factory spring back in and now I can do 60 but I have to tuck down to get their so I guess my question is what all do u have down to achieve 70mph could really use some advice thanks in advance
You have geared that thing very tall with the gear kit and large variator. Imagine being on the highest gear on your bicycle. Your legs are not strong enough to pedal and go fast. I would imagine your RPMs are low (6000 to 7000) as you bike is struggling with that high gear. What have you done to the motor power wise to push that that high gearing? I have a 171 kit, Cam and 28mm PWK. I also used the (smallest amount) gear up kit.
@earlisfayette9061 so the NCY CDI is actually slower than the stock. I have videos proving that. The coil makes no difference on power. We don't have enough compression mods to need a bigger or hotter spark so spark is spark. The 26mm carb is an upgrade, but to what? You need a reason to need more fuel. More displacement or more RPMs or cam etc. Do an electric fuel pump and re-tune your carb, and you will notice a big difference. You may try putting the stock CDI back on and seeing which one you like better also. What RPMs are you running wide open?
@@GhettoWrench I was planing to order the electronic fuel pump and pulse from rollingwrench and a afr gage and a 172 big bore kit with cam and slide carb
Alright I finally got my gears didn't know which gearing to go with there's like 7 different ones so I had 13-40 stock went with 17-36. Absolutely perfect 😁😁😁😁😁😁. Most important for those that want to change gearing tire size mine is 130-60-13. I was gonna go with 14-38. It's not like changing a spark plugs so get it right the first time. I got lucky.
Hi.i was wondering what app donyou use .been looking for something like this forbawhile now..i use 18/36 gears... would love you see the results of other gears if i had the app if you can let me know..tkz...
Ok this is fuckin awesome!! Just bought a ruckus with a stock gy6 150cc. I plan to do a 171 cc big bore kit because i daily this thing and i need to be able to produce 60 mph for higway riding. Would you suggest doing the gearing next like in your video or should i just slap a cvt transmission kit from wrolling wrench?
@speedymillz6675 watch my CVT kits are a scam video. Your next gear up step is a 115mm variator. Test that then add a 842 belt and test that. With a 150, you may or may not be Faster with both and have to go back to the 835 belt. Run that until you get a big bore prob. You need a lot of power to make a rear end gear set give you more speed. Personally I liked the bike better without the gear up kit and doing 68mph as it was a lot quicker to get there.
Stock goes about 50mph. You can follow these videos and see what it takes to go faster. The free mods are probably the best. ua-cam.com/video/4Xc75ShnqCE/v-deo.htmlsi=Xj0yvy9Dta2KowoQ

@seanmayo206 You can find a youtube video for any mod. Just search GY6. They are all the same. Guys that road race mopeds have the best knowledge for speed. It is popular in Europe
@seanmayo206 I was told it is for a fancy moped with more options like remote start and alarms and shit. I guess all these things use the same harness. I even took off that jumper wire and made no difference. Chinese never have instructions
I would not think any. No clue what's in there stock. Are you hitting redline? 9500 RPM. If so, do you already have a larger variator? That is the first gear up mod I would try.
Well gear down will give you torque and going up will give you speed, but only if you can currently hit redline. Every bike is going to be different. You would just have to try some. I have not tried gear changing a 50 yet
