Got the sl2 as my main camera currently as well. It does the job, but it does in fact challenge me to rely on skill rather than camera features. A quality I have come to respect about it.
I have used a Canon 700D for the last 5 years and enjoyed it. The only thing that I found it really lacked was sharpness, no good bitrate options for colour grading and poor frame rate options. I use it as my B can now and am still constantly surprised how good the colour science is on the camera considering how cheap it is now. I upgraded to the Fujifilm X-T3 early 2020 and have been in love with that camera. Log profile, 400mbps, 4K, Fuji colour science. A really good update that is incredibly affordable for all the specs you can get out of it.
Nice Video man! By the way what are your tips for sharpening the video after the fact and how close do you keep your light to you when filming ? My SL2 footage doesn't look very sharp (eg on my channel) even after colour grading etc..
Hey Leo! Thank you for your kind words! 1. I keep my lights as close to me as possible without getting them into the shot. 2. One trick I use is exporting the video as a 4K file (even if it wasn't shot in 4K), then uploading it to youtube! For some reason the HD footage look a little bit sharper on UA-cam when uploaded in 4K rather than 1080p. Hope this helps!
@@DillonProductions woww. I have this same setup but I am never able to get this quality. First of all thanks a ton for all the amazing content you've churned out. Extremely inspiring 🙌. If it's not a huge trouble, could you please help me with a few tips to get this kind of quality?
@@TechnoPel Here are a couple quick tips: 1. Diffuse your lighting. You can find creative ways to make your light softer using a shower curtain, a large soft-box and even a light dome. That made a biggest difference in the A-roll. 2. Pay Attention to your background. You have a higher likelihood of getting a blurry background if you are farther way from the the walls. If the location isn't the best looking dry to dress is up. For me, I use blue packing blankets to cover up the ugly tan walls of my room. And to top it off I shine a Blue light on the background to add further interest. Hope this helps!
What are you currently shooting on?
The sl2 haha, just got the sigma 30mm 1.4 for it
@@attilabagiproductions Haha, nice! Solid lens choice as well.
