    What's up everyone?! I hope this cinematic SL2 tutorial was helpful. I love how powerful this camera is for the price. A lot of people dismiss it as a beginner camera, but I think the results are pretty good. Let me know what you think!!
    Was there too much detail? Not enough? What did you like, and also, what did you not like? What would you like to see more of? Would love to know what you think, good or bad. I am grateful in advance 🙏

    I wish I could go back in time to 3 years ago and have this video when I started. Seriously, bro, this is the best 18 minutes somebody new to videography could watch. You are going to help a LOT of people get started with this video and if these doesn't end up with a million views someday it will be a shame.

      Wow, that's amazing to hear. I'm really glad this video was useful. I was hoping that I didn't include too much stuff to the point where people wouldn't watch. Really appreciate the feedback.

      Tech Gear Talk my pleasure. I would’ve loved to see this when I was starting out. My only concern about how many views this gets is because it’s tied to the SL2 and Canon seems to be moving away from DSLRs right now. But I guess you could just make it again with a different camera. ;-)
      I’ve said this before but I’m really thankful for this new batch of camera/photography youtubers coming up who just seem to want to help.

    • @TechGearTalk
      @TechGearTalk  5 років тому

      Good point about it being tied to the SL2 but yes, I could just re-do it. I'm just glad this is being helpful. I know people waste hours/days/weeks/months searching for info.

      TechRunsGadgets That's it. The 200d is a great camera. She is very valuable and for this money you can't get a another camera with this quality. It's sad that the 200d often stands in the shadows of the expensive ones...

    This was great! Nearly every sentence contained an answer to a question that was in my head! There’s a lot of info here and the beauty of UA-cam is I can rewatch bits of it to make sure I’ve understood. I don’t have the SL2 at the moment but will be getting one later in the year - your videos have helped me make up my mind on which camera to get and also got me excited for what I can do with it once I’ve got my hands on one. Many thanks!

    Thank You so much for this video. You are a great teacher, and You demonstrate awareness of the important small notes to give. I am a beginner with an sl2, and Ive been just moving round aperture and shutter speed until the video looked somewhat ok, Having no knowledge of which is which. The small things You do here like point out where to find them on the camera, and talk about cinematography basics at the same time his extremely helpful. I am going to use the 180degree rule immediately with my iso low while I shoot during the day. Thank You so much for this!

I dont have an SL2 or 200d as it's called in Europe but have got a 100d which has been severely underused until now as I am now teaching myself through youtube how to get best results. I'm already using manual settings and all the other modes. I hardly use the auto mode anymore thanks to youtube videos. I have just purchased the 55-250mm stm lens and also been givena 50mm lens. I also have the 18-55 stm kit lens which has been very good. Thank you for your videos and keep them coming👍😊

    First time ever someone explains this so simply and logically. Thank you so much!!! I gave up on getting the cinematic look. I am back after 2 years of staying away from my cams footage looking kinda flat.. Buying the cannon sl 200d soon because of this review after years of dealing with sony nex ea50 (quite frustrating, very expensive lenses which I don't want to buy) and the Panasonic Gh 2 (way better look but with limitations).

    Interesting. Where White Balance is concerned this was the setting that I had always left alone on my 200D (having changed everything else manually) and let the camera look after it by selecting AWB. Likewise with Picture Styles - it was something that I had always ignored.....so thanks for bringing these things up. A trick that I learned for getting filters is that you always wanna buy the filter for the largest size lens you have in terms of diameter. Then if you need need to put it on a smaller lens you can just buy a step down ring to make it fit as opposed to buying several filters for all your lenses
