Absolutely gorgeous footage, mate. I've only ever been up here during the summer but it's my goal to head down in winter this year (hopefully it looks like this)
Great vlog Phil, thanks for braving that weather! I loved the slideshow at the end, there's some great pics in it. As much as I like my sunshine, I could watch snow falling all day (and it looks like you did just that ;-) ).
That pantograph kept sparking for ages..maybe it needs to be refurbished? Or maybe the contact patch between the catenary and the carbon strip was pushed apart by ice? Anyway it was awesome!
@@cityraildude fair enough haha, and sorry if that came off a bit aggressive, i didn’t mean it to come off like that, but yeah, i would love to see sydney trains in snow with my own eyes. i’ve been on a train in the snow in America but that was it
as per usual Phil, an excellent Video, i love watching yours.........as you film at a lot of locations that i remember...........Would it be possible to film again at Victoria St
hey thank you so much ... this was an awesome footage. loved the snow flakes. for some it must not be a big deal ..... but salute to you for such an awesome effort. Beautiful. 🙋🙋🙋🙋. I am waiting to show my girls. this year if it happens. loved it!!!!
OMG I never knew Australia gets snow. I didn't realize it could get that cold in Oz. How cold does it get in July or August down there? -15c. My city of Edmonton routinely can see winter lows of -35c with records as low as -43c.
it usually doesnt snow in Australia, only certain regions of NSW (State) get snowed on, mostly around the blue mountains and snowy mountains and only in winter. In Sydney we havent had snow since 1890, and probably wont ever again. Its usually around 15 - 20 degrees celcius in the winter at sydney. :)
Phillip Mulligan not very cold at all usually. Stays around 5-10 Celsius during the night (not as cold as you get on the Canadian prairies). But in can occasionally get cold like this. Writing this I am expecting light frost tomorrow morning around -1 to 0 Celsius here in the fringes of Sydney.
I was there yesterday and only got a little bit (Which I made into snowballs and threw them at my mum) I believe that there is snow scheduled for next weekend.
Hey Phil, great video. Thanks for taking my snow request. I love the snow, so I keep revisiting this one over and over 🌨❄☃️. What's the name of the song at the end of the video?
I thought you were standing on the ballast (well away from any station) and was wondering how none of the drivers have called the cops on you yet? Hahaha and then you turn around at 1:50.
Thanks for letting me explain to my son that it can snow in June
Nice footage. So awesome to see snow in the Blue Mountains.
+Aaron Zimmermann Thank you kind sir :)
My fav video of the series. The quiteness is unbelievable and the lighting from those magnificent lamp posts adds to the feel of it all.
yes very true

Thanks for going out there in the snow to show us all :) it looks like it would have been very very cold!
Wow! Looks like a Christmas movie. I'll be in Sydney June this year so hopefully there's a bit of snow
Bit late but Sydney doesn't get snow at all. Last snow was in the 19th century
That pantograph kept sparking for ages..maybe it needs to be refurbished? Or maybe the contact patch between the catenary and the carbon strip was pushed apart by ice? Anyway it was awesome!
Its awesome to see Sydney trains in snow
Why?
@@cityraildude probably because it’s not something you often get to see, or ever really
@@itsmenoodlebox Oh yea, no, I completely agree. I love trains, I love snow. I love trains in snow. I just wanted to know other people's reasoning
@@cityraildude fair enough haha, and sorry if that came off a bit aggressive, i didn’t mean it to come off like that, but yeah, i would love to see sydney trains in snow with my own eyes. i’ve been on a train in the snow in America but that was it
@@itsmenoodlebox I see. Carry on!
Lucky! I live in the northern hemisphere in Georgia, USA. Where I live in the northern mountainous part, we got a rare 0 inches!
Australia is better
I was at Katoomba station that day. It was not really snowing at 11am, just raining in the earlier part of the day. damn I missed the heavy snow!
Blackheath has to be one of the most windswept, bloody cold stations in Australia.

I love trains SOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! much
