  • Got the 175 running today. I put a used coil I found in the basement on it. Washed it all up, then warmed it up, to dry it out. It's ready to dissemble.
In the next few days I will start loosing screws on the engine, why it's still bolted to the frame. That will help hold the engine, why I break them loose, and hopefully not bust them! Then I will pull the engine out, and start getting it down to the frame.

I paid $100 for mine just like that one, in 1987 when I was a kid. Rode it all over the mountains around my town for a couple years. Got a $130 ticket when riding it on the road to the mountain. Mom sold it for like $400 due to that..😆

Sounds like fun.... to bad mom sold it. Mine has always been road legal, but the previous bike.... not. Only got pulled over once on it, and got a warning. I was a few miles from home, so after he pulled away a ways, I hopped on it and took off.

Don't let that tire touch the street. You'll get a ticket. Although after 42 years, Barney Fife is retired by now.

It's actually 100% road legal. I don't know if I want to ride the roads around here, with everyone thats in there big hurry....

It looks better than when I got it new, now that is all done. Put about 500 miles on it over the summer, ridding it around locally.

Thank you. I have tried to take care of it. I got it new off the showroom floor back in 76. It was $800 new. I have had offers for three times that, but just don't want to sell it. I still ride it... have ridden it every year since it was new. Now I take it on vintage motorcycle rides.

Great video. Is the front mudgard original to the '76? I have an '80 XL 100 and that mudguard would really suit what Im planing for my XL build.

It's 100% the way I got it brand new. What you see is the way it came off the showroom floor.
