    If it were a stranger shape instead of a circle, would you take the line integral for dq such that dq=lambda ds where ds would parameterize x and y

      You would need to define a function describing the shape and integrate over that function,

      @@MichelvanBiezen it’d be interesting to find the electric field of a parabola but I’d imagine that the integration would be too time consuming. Probably why I have only seen electric fields for simpler shapes
