Love your idea on getting the perfect circle, I used my hair dryer to speed up the job of dying the glue on a plastic bottle (not to hot a setting) which worked perfectly, thank you sharing
Meredith, I love this. I hopefully will be able to do this. I have never made anything using a corkboard and pins, so it's going to be interesting to see if I will be able to do this. You have explained everything clearly.
Great idea! Every year I try to make my own Christmas cards and this year I decided to quill cards. This idea will be added to my list of Christmas cards! Thank you Meredith!
Beautiful! My first one came out ok but I allowed to dry too long on wax paper so it had wax paper stuck to it. Next one I used a cut up baggie (clear plastic) as base & after a few minutes when glue set, I slid the ornament up along pins away from the surface to dry. 2nd one came out much nicer. Practice makes perfect. Thanks so much for sharing your creativity & knowledge.
@@ThePaperyCraftery Of course! I love them. AND another one of your videos inspired me to get out my quilling comb yesterday. I'm making some ornaments you showed this summer (the red, white, and blue ones). Would you believe I'd never used the comb?! Very fun and so simple... I bet I'll be sharing them on the blog before Christmas and will include your video in the post.
I hope I understand your question right...I think you're asking why I didn't make the shape in the center with one continuous strip instead of measuring it and gluing in 2 parts. I think it's harder to keep the two sides equal and have the same arc to them if its done in one piece. But if that works better for you, go for it!
Love this ornament! How long do you allow your double paper strips to dry before using them? Also, why do you sometimes tear the end of the paper and other times cut the ends?
Great questions! As long as you only use a thin line of glue, your double strips should be fully dry in about 30 minutes or so. Also, I tear my strips as much as possible because it makes for a smoother connection. But double thick strips don't tear as nicely, so I usually save my scissors for those. It's also easier to cut little bits off when measuring to fit in a specific space.
I find spray sealants a little more difficult to control because I find them to get the paper wetter and they may warp or wrinkle. That being said, I really don't seal my work very often. Really just ornaments. Whenever someone asks about sealants, I direct them to HoneysQuilling.com . She's done tons of research on different brands.
For these ornaments, I'm using Elmer's Glue All. I have a link to all my supplies in the description box of each video. I also have an entire video on what types of glue I use and when. If you're interested, you can see that here 👉 ua-cam.com/video/cmfFUvu64Uw/v-deo.html
Thank you for your thoroughly explained steps! I can’t wait to try this.

Love the ornament. Just wondering why you didn’t make a marquis shape with the red/white strip instead.

Hi Meredith just wondering what your thought are on spray modge podge or other spray sealers .

What brand glue do you use?
