- Believe it or not Tesla didn't provide this information when I purchased my new 2024 Model 3 Performance. In this video I discuss the hidden costs of buying a Tesla in 2024 and share my thoughts on leasing and financing.

**Edit: Shoutout to @murse_life for pointing this out. I should have been more specific on the leasing terms, but according to Tesla's leasing support page they say you can only buy the vehicle after leasing if it was delivered on or before April 15, 2022 and this only applies to model X & S models. Source: www.tesla.com/support/leasing/lease-end-options
Your points are mostly correct, except for the financing aspect. I was able to secure a 0.99% financing rate, put a substantial down payment towards the vehicle, and my monthly payments are nearly negligible for 48 months. Additionally, leasing a Tesla often doesn’t make sense. You don’t get to keep the vehicle at the end of the lease, you're limited on miles each year, and there's a fee upon returning the Tesla.
It's important for everyone to do their research since financial situations can vary greatly.
Thank you for pointing these out. I should have been more specific on the leasing terms, but according to Tesla's leasing support page they say you can only buy the vehicle after leasing if it was delivered on or before April 15, 2022 and this only applies to model X & S models.
As for financing 0.99% that was only offered for model Y and I believe the outgoing model 3. If this was offered on the new model 3 performance I would have considered financing, but ultimately I decided to purchase the car in cash because even at 6% interest the monthly bill would have placed me well over $500 or so a month which isn't a good deal imo.
I couldn't watch the video, the background music was too loud and distracting. 😢
Iam waiting on my m3p. I leased it because I am waiting on the cyber truck to get all the bugs out and let the price lower with other model options. Figured after 3 years it will be a perfect time to get one.
Good call and yes agreed. I originally wanted a Cyber Truck but then I heard all of the problems it was having so unless Tesla comes out with a better model 3 anytime soon I think the Cyber Truck might be my next buy despite what everyone has to say about them.
The tint on the windows with the black paint looking good 👌
Thanks! The tint came out pretty good indeed!
I purchased a new tesla 3 in September 2023. I sold it and one month ago I got a hybrid honda. $35 gets 500 miles of range, once the tank is empty I spend under 5 minutes on a gas station to get myself next 500 miles of range. Feels great.
Yeah you can't go wrong with Honda's I actually also have a Lexus UX 200 F and it gets up to 40 mpg. Pretty wild!
If you don’t mind me asking which Honda did you get 👀
@ig9628 I'm actually interest as well @odesskiy100
@@ig9628 11 gen accord touring
2023 honda accord touring. Currently showing 50 miles per gallon, driving conservatively
whats the tint percentage?
50% for the front glass and 20% for the other windows
Too dark! 😂
@RayNLA it's not limo dark but yeah it's pretty dark lol
@@BlackbirdProductionsthat would get me ticket real quick. I wonder if they take your license or something if you get ticketed more than once?
@@stevewoodyt Yeah... the tint I have is definitely illegal here, but I knew the risk when getting the tint and based on my experience it's very rare to get pulled over for tint here unless you have 5% on every window and clearly look suspicious I'd imagine. I had about the same tint on my last car as well and I got pulled over for no front license plate of all things, but I think the cops just pulled me over because I had my hood over my head and I looked suspicious.
Theres no way to tether your phone to the phone to avoid the connectivity charge?
There is but it's not a very reliable connection with the car unfortunately. This is something I discuss in my previous video. Whatever radio Tesla is using for hotspot connectivity, it's not very good but who knows it might be made that way by design to get more premium connectivity subscribers.
I thought I’d save a decent amount of fuel cost. Charging is cheaper than gas for sure. The problem is living in north Florida I NEED the ac running. After a few weeks of driving I’ve determined that the fuel cost is pretty much exactly the same as my last gas car at 26 mpg. Having the ac running to keep the cabin cool when it’s 90+ outside with full Florida sunshine halves your economy. My wife drove 65 miles yesterday. She was in bland out of the car shopping and used 130 miles of range. Again, that’s the same fuel cost as it would have been in my car that got 26 mpg even with the ac running nonstop.
That's insane. What's the model you have and estimated range?
I call BS. I also live in Fl. AC on and all, cost is way cheaper than gas by like 50% each month.
You either have a heavy foot, or, you always leave sentry mode on , even at home (which eats 2-3% of your battery per DAY) - have sentry mode off at home. You’ll see a huge dif in range.
Do you have a bridge for sale? I'm in the market.
@@Eddy-ov4tx I just did two loops today. One with ac on and one without. I recorded it actually and I might edit it to post. Anyway, my brother in law also called bs. We went to two stores on the first trip with an on. 13kwh. Then we did the same trip but didn’t go into the stores. Pulled into the parking spots and everything. 7kwh.
Later. He sent me a screenshot of a post on teslamotorclub that suggest there may be some kind of bug that is causing the heat to run at the same time as the ac.
Idk but I’m not just making things up. I do understand that it seems crazy. I intend to figure it out because it is bullshit.
@@Iffy50 although it seems as though im some kind troll. Hiding in The comments of a YT video using my evil comment powers to make would be EV buyers think twice. That is not the case. It is true unfortunately. I am hoping my car has some kind of weird repairable issue causing it to consume nearly as much energy to make go down the road as it does to keep it cool. It’s a hertz car so maybe someone did something to yuck it up. Believe or not. That is up to you obviously. I did a 47 miles loop twice today. One ac on and one off. I got out of the car twice for about 20 minutes during the ac on trip. This is my typical driving. I dont just shoot up the highway at 70 to work and then back. Ac on 13kwh. Ac off 7kwh. My brother didn’t believe me either so I took with me. Time will tell. I may be running the heat and the cool at the same time.
