Its like when Mark in the other cockup Google made, when he pretty much went "Go on, prove you have no fucking ballsack by doing this." by telling them "do it." They fixed the previous problem, then somebody had a fucking meltdown and smacked down BOTH channels.

They don't want you to know. If you know you can critique and they could potentially lose control. This is the method UA-cam uses to maintain control over what they want you to see. It's a narrative control issue, not a technology issue.
The fact that this comment with few likes was buried under hundreds of comments with thousands of likes is evidence in my eyes.
I absolutely agree. It's always been about that. Quantum was a good example of that as well, he was clearly at least partially in the wrong but he got no punishment at all. Just because it didn't fit UA-cam's narrative in terms of the optics of the situation.

He always gets hit when he's trending because there's an entire discord community dedicated to striking his videos whenever they do well. The fact these people can continually abuse the system with zero repercussions is absurd.
You’d think they be able to fix the issue of mass spamming reports? Like a weight system that decreases the worth of a report from frequent false flagging accounts or freshly made accounts. How long would that take to program, test, and implement? Or factor in the thumbs up to thumbs down ratio to determine the threshold for the amount of reports needed to get a video age restricted. There are so many possible solutions to this very issue that its mind boggling its still an issue.

For a middle aged man going through a mid-life crisis and dumping almost 10k into a set up to begin my own channels, making content and streaming, this video has terrified me to begin uploading videos. If people who are successful and know what they are doing are experiencing stuff like this, I feel like what hope do I have as someone starting at the absolute bottom?
I say go for it! The possibility of something like this happening will always be there unfortunately, but if it’s something you have a passion for, I wish you nothing but the best!1

I really am routing for the platform to have some changes because a lot of my favorite creators aren't putting on a fake performance for monetization. I really appreciate how committed to being straight forward an honest you are. if you need some videos like this to rant about the issues on the platform keep doing it.
I’ll never understand why UA-cam goes out of its way to be the worst platform possible. I genuinely can’t believe anyone at UA-cam is really doing any of this in good faith, nor can anyone convince me otherwise.
Because there's no one to challenge them, no competition in the market so they don't have to try or do anything because it's all we got. Such a sad reality but true.

So great to see Cory’s message spread around like this. He started something that needed to be addressed way long ago. That being said, I feel like UA-cam should need to have new employees who aren't biased because they clearly show tons of favoritism.
UA-cam needs to check the boxes, and make sure they meet the diversity quota. They don’t care about hiring people who aren’t biased, they simply want control and to push a message.

The whole "UA-cam is a Big platform" argument has turned into an excuse the more time goes by.
It's been over a decade and not only copyright is still a very easy to abuse system, but the algorithm has been the reason why ad-friendly and Made for Kids became a thing. You said it right, big issues need big solutions, and UA-cam took the easy fixes because they couldn't bother trying, and again, it's been 10 years. Time has been at their disposal.
On the topic of "people finding loopholes", that's still risk worth taking if it means having communication with those who provide content to your platform.
In any media related business, if you don't actually tell your employees what's right or wrong, then the quality of the business will always be inconsistent. So if that was an option, it's so much better to have transparency and deal with the loopholes as they present themselves, than to not have any transparency and have everyone scared of even trying to be creative
When someone uses that argument, all I hear is, "I'm a sucker for corporatism" which doesn't sit right for me, or for that matter, anyone else with common sense.

As a lawyer, I would guess UA-cam's clarity in providing guidance is because if they began providing more specific guidelines and explanations would have them arguing all over the place based on prior precedent. Think of a specific explanation as UA-cam painting themselves into an ever smaller and smaller corner. Or take the US Constitution as another example. It's purposefully vague. UA-cam's vague language and lack of explanations leaves them a ton of latitude to do what they like.

It's crazy that they go after him, HIM , of all people, He's the one more family friendly than most of the people out there. He would be making them more money than a lot of people. Yet, it happen. Can't blame him for thinking it's racism or favoritism.

You give youtube way more patience than they're worth, I feel like they're legit just scheming assholes who like the secrecy because they enjoy the power of being able to bend and unfairly apply rules depending on what they feel beneficts them at the time
So, to my understanding, the issue is UA-cam puts to much faith in bots and algorithms to determine what gets age restricted and demonitized, rather than let a team of humans do a more accurate job of it and communicating with creators to resolve issues. Hope that gets resolved at somepoint.
Also, if Quantum ends up making some kind of response to this to taunt or insult you, over something he had no involment in(even less than last time) I'll be annoyed.
At the very least bots should only be able to recommend videos get demonetized or age restricted to the humans who should actually be the ones to decide this. Bots should have no actual power, it should only go to actual humans.
The problem is they would need literally thousands of humans to review every video on the platform hence the use of bots. I am not a fan of UA-cam policies but I can understand their logic since their revenues are almost entirely dependent on advertising so they have to be overly cautious since adpocalypse.
Don't think the Tickled Man have time to deal with Act Man. He's too busy dealing with small content creators, which ultimately resulted him getting into the *Worst Comment Reply Thread Ratio in UA-cam ever* that they have max the replies limit. (It's in one of stream video in MinxyOne's channel)

It's def not just gaming channels, it's the whole youtube Horror niche... now this is my community and this year I started my own horror/urban legends/true crime channel... this channel has basically saved my life due to some rough stuff I was going through and giving me this opportunity to do something I love has made a HUGE difference in my life... so it kills me that all my favorite horror channels are struggling so hard from Horror narration to True crime to horror gaming channels... there all under threat here.
If youtube kills the Horror niche it will absolutely break my heart. We got to fix this guys, please. 🙏 we gotta fix this.

They don't want creators to know what violates community guidelines so that way they can continue to strike videos without having to be held accountable it lets them hear the whiny people strike down a video that they don't like and not have to answer for any of it
This is exactly like working in a CS department and having to deal with a Quality department reviewing your actions. This was years ago but I had a case where I used a line from the Quality website on a perfect interaction, used it for like two years, and then was told it was inappropriate. When I disputed that and even gave them a link to their own site they told me I was wrong, when my manager tried to dispute he was told to stop because he was making them feel bad. >.>

While it isn't racism as far as I'm concerned, considering what happened with you and Quantum, it's always favoritism. There are a few things that will keep you in their good boy list.
1: Mainstream media like talkshow hosts, old media news sites like CNN and Fox, etc.
2: Being their chosen good boys like Logan and Jake Paul in their old days. They were chosen to be the faces of UA-cam, and did mainly, as Logan called it, Hooligan stuff.
3: Being big, but only if you tow a narrative. Political narrative or not. Towing the narrative being popular. Look at Twitters own narratives, and how Elon Musk went from beloved creator of electric cars for green energy, and then, he goes and says we need free speech on Twitter, and all the elites nd blue checkmarks are hating him like he's Hitler 2.0. And look at Markiplier. He got punished for trying to do the right thing. If that doesn't scream type 3 of good boys, then I don't know what is.
And Cory falls within the 3rd one, but he doesn't tow the narrative. IIRC, he would start videos or end them with bible quotes. Google, who owns UA-cam, despises anything religious that isn't the current protected class. It's obvious. So he easily is getting targeted because he's clearly open about himself in ways they don't like. And google are elites. What do they hate? What they view as NPC grey matter getting big over time. They want to gate keep success. Cory has been around as early as 2009 if what I've heard is correct. He didn't pop out into youtube being the best of the best. He spent time making content, and got here eventually.
UA-cam will try to stop that. Like how they, a while ago, tried to block views from coming into your video if you have what they call "a lack of creator history". If your video is gettign viral, they'll stiffle views. It was talked about. Look up "This video is popular, due to limited creator history". Google it. Their policies are always being designed to take a dump on smaller content creators, and people they don't like.
Elites look at us not even as people of our own heritage if we're not rich or elite in any way. We're all NPC grey matter. Meaning that's the only genuine form of racism you can really bring up, other than them trying to prop up black creators. At the end of the day though, it can't be the kind of racism you think, because if you're not a minority, you're on your own. Look at how badly they messed up Mumkey Jones, and didn't stick to a fair system. His whole career was assassinated by them, and only the fans were able to keep him up. His own "employers" decided to cancel him by using slanderous claims about his videos and their intentions behind said videos. Corys case is far from unique. And it blends in with the dime a dozen cases.
So it's not racism. It's classism to a T.
That's what I was saying. If UA-cam truly was racist, then Act Man would have won from the start with no repercussions. Not to mention Cory wouldn't be here to tell us about the problems he's facing. It's definitely favoritism.
@@ShwappaJ And also Act Man would more likely have gotten more views than Cory on his videos. IIRC his video where he played the role of youtube attorney and talked about Qauntum didn't even REACH half of Cory's views on his video.
It can still be racism. . You forget that at the end of the day, people are still people. You can’t rule out all the possibilities with logic. . Because not all humans are logical.

You don't need to rule out possibilities to have a most obvious conclusion. In case you didn't know, evidence is a thing, and evidence says "not racism", just classic classism. Or are you going to tell Act Man that UA-cam is racist towards whites because they sided with a black man when said black man was guilty of actual phobia's? Just because you can't rule out the possibility? The evidence is obvious that UA-cam has classims issues, and they get to pick and choose who joins the rich boy club, or who has their blessings to be a total prick.

Because it's the worst, and it's why the country of America is actually so divided, under the guise of racism, and every other ism, when the ones pulling the strings on all this division are elite wealthy freaks of every color and race, but only having one creed.
You were doing great until you brought up classism for whatever reason. You yourself aknowledged that even if you are a big creator you are not safe from youtube's policies, but for some reason chose to ignore this when drawing a conclusion. It has nothing to do with class, it has everything to do with power. I dont know if you meant classism in a marxist way but i will still mention the following. UA-cam is a public corporation, it is the internet state within a state that controls and regulates the private creators. As you pointed out, if a private creator happens to be out of favor with the establishment, then their channel will be demonitised, age restricted, striked or deleted all together. This is not done because of "class discrimination", this is done in order to maintain power, the same motivation behind goverment regulations.

I think something's going on with youtube behind the scenes. They seem to be "encouraging" youtubers that they deem as non-conformist (hard to control, raises concerns, inspires others to think critically, etc.) to leave, giving them a harder and harder time as time goes on until they just give up.
As long as UA-cam exists there will always be drama!
and that drama will allows youtube to not worry about changing as that drama makes them money
