How Vessel Design Is Transforming Seafaring Experiences

With a growing emphasis on creating an inclusive working environment on board, we recognized the critical role vessel design plays for seafarers spending months at sea. As we focus on attracting more female seafarers and fostering inclusivity, we asked the ones who know best - our seafarers - for feedback on making our vessels more inclusive.
“We primarily focused on technical aspects like steel, propulsion, and engine parts in our designs. The input from our seafaring colleagues on improving their living environment with inclusivity in mind has been invaluable,” says Kristian Dybro, Lead Naval Architect.
Some of these suggestions are now being implemented on the new methanol-enabled vessels built in Korea, while others will require more time and resources. One thing is certain - our journey has just begun. We are committed to continuously improving the working and living conditions for our seagoing colleagues. 🌍🚢
