You know, I used to absolutely LOVE bizarre foods, but this show is WAY better than that one. The humor, the absolute respect for the cultural foods, and just the insight makes this show for me. OMG I can finally say that yes, I tried that 10yrs ago when we went to visit Vietnam. The home made rice wine was amazing.

It is very interesting to see how similar some things are to my own country, despite being so far away. Most people here also make homemade booze, have our own whacky foods and although we don't have big reptiles, we do hunt snails and the small snakes from time to time, frogs too. My grandpa once even caught a wild rabbit that had snuck into our garden. He might have been in his late 70s back then but he had a hell of a good eye, reflexes and speed. He chased the rabbit to a corner, stunned it with a rock and caught it by the neck scruff.
Long : I felt guilty killing an animal for food
