- Grab your croissants and Nutella because we're about to do some bouldering in Targassonne! Targassonne (also written as Targasonne) is one of the largest and best places for bouldering in France outside of Fontainebleau. At just 15 minutes from the Spanish border with Puigcerda, Targasonne is a short 2 hour drive from the Barcelona.
This video has a roundup with a few of the classic boulder problems Lucie and I were able to send during the 2022-2023 bouldering season. Featured climbs can be found across sectors such as Taz, La Baleine, Dolmens, Dieux Paiens, Aigle & Virage.
Please note that the majority of the grades listed are according to their original proposals and are relative when compared within the blocks of Targasonne. Climb and have fun! 🙈

Really appreciate that Josh! We are fortunate to have access to quite a bit of outdoor bouldering venues within a two hour radius (and sport crags if I dare hop in a harness 😅).
Targasonne gets a bit hot for my liking in summer since I know what friction is like in winter. When it gets warmer, I'll shift over and focus on indoor climbing during the week that consists of the Moonboard and some weighted finger boarding.
I get the most enjoyment being outdoors, so we usually save weekends in summer for going out...even if it's in the 90's! We just cut the grade way down and use the heat to explore new places for the upcoming season.
