    After watching this in its entirety, I can say with certainty that you are the best video essayist that I’ve ever watched. I genuinely enjoyed watching every second of this. Like you are genuinely one of the most underrated UA-camrs out there

    The big, horrifying difference between a still-warm and long-rotten corpses: if the body is still warm, whatever killed it is probably VERY close. Much closer than you'd want anything murderous be

    In relation to this video I highly recommend the book The Seep by Chana Porter. Its a sci-fi book about a "gentle apocalypse", a utopia brought about by an alien invasion. It is a very moving book and I feel it explores a lot of the same themes discussed here.

    Wanted to binge through your vids after seeing how beautiful the Out of Bounds one was. I really wish I came across your channel sooner. I absolutely appreciate your presentation from what I've seen so far and can't wait to see what you come up with in the future!
    (Also 10:35 somewhat scared me because I was just so caught off guard seeing something MOVE in what I thought was just another example of a liminal space lol-)

    Actually, I can definitely see how agoraphobia would develop after frequent syncopal episodes. Especially if you're not sure what's triggering them. Most people I've worked with have them because of vasovagal attacks often secondary to anxiety to procedures like shots or blood draws. Some people have them in relation to blood sugar or POTS which is associated with a blood pressure drop (due to low sodium, I think?)

    • @Brian.Henken
      @Brian.Henken  5 місяців тому +2

      The vasovagal attacks were the main factor back then, but they were so frequent that I had to see doctors very often to make sure it wasn't some other underlying condition. I still see a cardiologist every year just to check in on myself. Thankfully the episodes have become exceedingly rare in recent years!
      And thank you for the kind words!

    Also I want to make a bit of a remark about modern state of Backrooms: the thing you see, the wiki, is supposed to be the catalogue *made by humans* to try and survive there. Humans wrote down everything they found that they could comprehend and survive to share it with others. ARE YOU SURE THEY COULD COMPREHEND EVERYTHING? ARE YOU SURE THEY COULD SURVIVE EVERYTHING? There are still thousands of people in Backrooms, doing well-established things and never being seen again. We have no idea why happened to them. We have no idea what got them, if anything, or if they fell into random hole in fabric of that alien reality, or whatever. YOU STILL CAN'T BE SURE ABOUT ANYTHING. Maybe there IS something on level zero? But everyone who got chance to find out about it are now vanished without a trace, never to tell their tale? We will never know.

      I think his point isn't about the lore itself. It's the fact that there IS now lore which ruins the concept. There were no levels, and there technically wasn't even a monster. In its origin, the Backrooms is an endless maze of jaundiced halls, bright and buzzing lights, and the vague threat that someone/something is there with you.
      I'm a lover of an unreliable narrator/lore keeper myself. Podcasts like the Magnus Archives in particular really tickles that approach to recorded documents of unexplainable horrors, a group of people trying to explain them, and the cost of doing that. The issue is that people have essentially turned the Backrooms into the SCP foundation, and it ruined the original horror of it. It's really cool to see all the creativity, and approaching all the Backrooms lore as unreliable comprehension is a cool idea, but you can't have unreliable comprehension when a bulk of Backrooms lore is literal photo or video evidence.
