Sounds like the cat is giving you some good advice you should totally do let the cat come in. Seems like something that maybe 3d printing would help with or like the sort of thing real fake guns does.
Rocky hates closed doors. Always wants to be around his daddy. I’m sure 3D printing would solve everything, only I know more about 18th century French architecture than I do about 3D modelling and printing. And I know nothing about 18th century French architecture 😆
You don’t have to be techy to do these kinds of things. I have no idea what I’m doing, just making it up as I go along. It’ll be great to finish it and maybe produce kits but I’m really just doing it as a one-off.
I’d say go for it and make the necessary modifications, the proof of concept is definitely there pal. It would be amazing to have a WE G36 rocking GHK M4 mags, so much easier to draw and insert into pouches. I know you said the HK magwell adapter was expensive, however it’s not like we’re easily able to own real HK G36 rifles in the U.K... Do it! You won’t regret it!
This is one situation where 3D printing is ideal. It's a steep learning curve, but I think he should make a 3D printed adapter so it will fit perfectly
you could see about grabbling an aeg magwell adapter, since your going to cut it to pieces. that should be cheaper and then if it works well, you can do a better job with the hk one.
I tried the AEG magwell first and the magazine locking piece is positioned too low and the magazine needs to index about 1cm higher. My previous video that I made on this project featured that version and I had to hold the mag upwards for it to cycle. Trouble is there’s not much I can do about moving the catch higher due to how it’s designed. This HK piece locks the magazine in place at pretty much the exact height.
Now then Mr. Bing, Glad you are getting some downtime - from my perspective perhaps a through bolt with rollers at the trigger guard bottom edge of the magwell, two rollers that go either side of the gas valve to hold that gas router better in position - I believe that gas router seals are meant to 'bellows' up on release anyway to complete that seal. So in short a dumbbell shaped bearing on a through bolt perhaps?
Interesting concept. I’ve had a few ideas float around. A clip-on wedge at the front to guide the mag to a solid and correct angle seems to be a popular method. I don’t know tho, I’ll see if I can acquire another magwell and see.
I remember watching this video over a year ago. Now with the new release of the Nov g36 line with the A2 version with a m4 mag well adapter I wonder if that would be an option.

All its takes is one wrong cut on OG one and it's tears all round the split milk. You made me want to get G39 but it's the huge mags that are holding me back. If this is achievable I would be all over doing this as well. I look forward to further news on this one 😎
I’d like to have it 3D printed but I really don’t know what I’m doing with that. I suppose I could have the magwell scanned somehow. If you saw my previous video with the AEG magwell that I converted you can see how much more snappy the action is compared to the original mag. As a proof of concept it’s astounding.
If you ever get this to work I'd love to do the same mod to my g36... That would be awesome, I dont really like the g36 mags plus it looks really special forces like to run m4 mags in a g36 😎
A flat top plate is needed to keep the mag from tilting. How much space is in between the magwell & gas valve? Without cutting magwell, you could design a lever arm that hits the valve, pivots above the magwell and interfaces the finger guard trigger area. Then incorporate a trigger safety mechanism.
Would be nice to get such an adapter in a commercial way. Does ist also work with WE mags? Would be great to use the same WE M4 mags in der WE G36/M4 and Scar.
@@BadaBingPictures I wondered if this is why you used them instead.
