And one of the best bits about gravel, as a casual rider, is that there are no cars trying to kill you because you're holding them up for 10 seconds!

10 sec? You’re generous, in most big cities you would get run over after 5 😢

Was about to comment the same, you follow some of the cool kids in the sport (road or whatever) and mainly stick to the few channels you really like, you'll never keep up with everyone cause that's a full on redacting outfit team's job so it's always nice here and there to discover such cool people. I knew very little of Nathan, but I especially loved his views as a pro around the brand support and overall collective effort making it simpler and easier for anyone to come and try gravel a little. He's got access to the top notch stuff but he's not forgetting the average joe (or Alex ahah) tipping his toes in the water for the first time.

For me the real goal is quiet roads in the country, and those are most often gravel. But there can also be some fun under-biking when you come across class-4 roads.

Great video that Alex. I only use my gravel bike as a winter commuter. I'm feeling inspired to check out some trails. There's no shortage of them. North Wales is only 20 miles away. Hope to see more stuff with Nathan in the future. He's very entertaining

That "path" at 7:30 and the "fur canal" comment was entirely justified! I doubt that I have the courage to cycle on something like that - tarmac only for many decades ...

    Great video.
    1. Let's see more from Eat Sleep Cycle, run by lovely people.
    2. Nice shout out for cup and cone bearings for UK conditions, cartridge bearings that don't last the winter are tedious. Shimano wheels just last too.
    3. Good to see you enjoying riding your bike, and if you stay in Andorra, amazing gravel right on your doorstep, go find it and show us!

Its amazing that someone who road all these years and as a professional can be so sketchy on gravel. I mean you watch the stuff you have done on the road bike in races, the mountain descents and such and yet you are still timid on gravel is kind of funny. I'd much rather go down on gravel at 20mph than pavement at 30-60mph.

You're clearly not a gravel cyclists because you didn't spend 20 minutes go over and over the rationale of all the gear and bike setup and why you didn't ride those other tires, and wheel choice, and tread and PSI etc. Half the sport is chewing over and over what gear to run for each ride 🤪

  • @buzzman4860

Finally. Let's face it; tri is boring. Gravel is adventure
