I would get the C8 mid-engine over the Shelby GT500. Corvette wins my heart by a large margin.

Same, I wish ford would offer a Ford Gt style car with a v8 again and for this price... the thing I can't stand about Ford now is all the super limited production and fancy Shelby nameplates that just leave their cars unreasonably priced for someone that just want's to buy the car to actually use it instead of collecting dust in a garage.

@Naught Guile nothing even quality about it, the Gt350 had problems with its oil cooler lines etc the Shelbys still suffer from many Mustang quality issues. Maybe the Ford gt is quality but Ford does too much overpriced nametag markup junk. Should just offer both. An overpriced Ford Gt for collectors and an SVT cobra for people that don't care about collecting the car and crazy dealer markups

@@logos29 right now there is 6 grand in chevy incentives and thats before any negotiation with the dealership or applying any additional discounts you may qualify for. I believe id be right around 8 grand off a base and 10 off a higher specced model
bhvrdr I sell at Chevy and rebates are universal. There is not and never will be $6000 in incentives from GM. The 2019 corvettes right now have $0 incentives. The highest rebate on a vette has been $500. Idk what ur smoking but maybe I need some 🤔?

I put my deposit down last Saturday. I was told I was 8th on their list at Tim Lally in Cleveland. I like the sound of being 8th for my C8 ... has a nice ring to it. :)

Dr. Upper90 yes me too ! I have owned 7 stangs presently driving 2012 Boss and 03 Mach 1; even owned the mighty 03 Cobra , I was working on getting the Gt 350, but wow this c 8 has me reconsidering, this car seems like it will live up to it’s hype!
When I built mine I did the rapid blue exterior with the beige interior with carbon fiber trim equipped with the Z51 package and black trident wheels
Black exterior, tan interior, silver wheels, black calipers. Timeless classic combination.
If you want a manual buy another vette.. times change ppl. Sure it would have been cool, but every current super car car uses a dct. The new c8 is starting a domino effect in the car industry and paving the way for the next generation of super cars.
I honestly think the reason is simple. What is the average buyer of a Vette. 60+yrs old. They want to get younger and younger people don't know how to drive manual. Why produce something for someone that doesn't know how to drive it :)

As I've said in other vids on the corvette: If I was the CEO of GM and I heard about any dealer selling about MSRP, I'd immediately cancel ALL outstanding orders from that dealer and send a cease and desist order to them warning if they persist, they'll lose their dealer licence.
There's a reason the manufacturer puts an MSRP on a vehicle, it's called marketing and by inflating the price, all they're doing is fucking up the system.

Obviously, you didn't listen very well to what the salesman stated about the MSRP pricing. He did imply there would be a price adjustment based on the estimated value of the vehicle and competitive pricing from other dealers. Everyone should just wait another year until the vehicle is more refined and after the critics' reviews have come out. Plus, the hybrid or electric all-wheel-drive model will have been introduced probably by then. So don't rush out to be the first one to be disappointed and have buyers remorse the year afterward. Just my opinion though.

It’s about time Chevy started offering dual clutch. My 2017 Volkswagen GLI has it and it’s amazing. It’s gonna be perfect for an actual sports car like that. Shifts amazingly fast and still puts power down on the ground during the shift.

Bro, there is no way I'm buying a GT 500 for almost 100K with mark ups and little options. Over a rear engine super car with, exotic looks, zero to sixty in under 3 seconds. Plus the Z06 with a wide body and over 700 horses will be under 100K . Hell to the NA. The C8 has changed the game. If anyone pays 56K for a Supra and 100K for a GT 500 you are crazy as hell!!!

I'm a dodge guy I love the chargers but I must say this new Corvette makes me want to buy one. It's the same price as an SRT if not cheaper and looks better too.

It's pretty amazing to see how European this new Corvette is! And it's even more amazing to think it took them this long to make it that way. It's like a sudden transition from a tractor to an exotic.

It's a dual-clutch manumatic. Electrically-shifted manual transmission that has preprogrammed shift points for automatic shifting but it can be manually held in any gear...
It has actual clutches controlling gearsets instead of bands as found in torque-converter automatics...

The new Corvette is deff chasing the Ferrari Spider, except without the $280,000 price tag. I think it’s a good direction to go.
Thanks for doing this, I'd like to see what you think of each. I had a MSRP allocation for a GT500 but decided to wait a year for the Z06 C8 instead. I think the Z06 version will be phenomenal.

Two-tone blue interior, torch red seat belt, black trident rims, shadow gray or zeus brown with yellow brake calliper and GT2 seats

If the rear looked more like a Vette than the current Camaro I'd consider it since it should be a performer. The tall wing definitely makes it look better.

I worked service for a full line GM dealer in the mid 80’s till mid 90’s I saw the “market adjustment “ happen on Grand National’s , Monte Carlo SS aero coupes, GTA’s and ZR1’s . The factory can adjust an msrp as fast as a keystroke. It was disgusting to how much people would overpay when told “we just can’t get them”

i live in honolulu. i have no doubt in my mind the chevy dealer(s) here will charge $80000+ for the ‘BASE’ while the rest of the nation will be charging $59-$65,000
In regard to the price, I believe the cost of not having to develop 2 transmissions translated into cost savings for the customers. Don't need 2 transmission options when the DCT is literally both an automatic, and a manual in one unit!

I called up my Chevy dealer up here in Rockford IL and asking them about whether they are going to have mark up on top of the MSRP and his response was no. They are planning on selling it for MSRP, but he said a couple of other Chevy dealers in the region are planning on having anywhere from $5,000 to $15,000 mark up on top of the MSRP. He is expecting pricing from Chevy soon. He said the base model, say $60,000 plus shipping and one other fee will come out to $62,500 minimum.

Quite a few Corvette dealers have already committed to selling this C8 at msrp. At some dealers you might pay over sticker, but it won't be 10 to 15k over sticker like the gt500.

Most dealerships are asking 1000.00 down. There is no reason to buy above MSRP...this is a volume car. Albeit, one of the nicest in recent history!!

You need to get yellow with the carbon black stripes with the blue two tone interior. Trust me the blue interior is insane. It looks menacing like a Ford GT. Red calipers and the competition seats with black wheels. So clean.

A lot of die hard Corvette fans won’t like this new car but I think it will be a hit as long as it runs as well as they are claiming. The pricing seems pretty decent to me for a 495 h.p. Mid engined sport car. Mr. Duntov would be pleased in my estimation.

Waiting for a future model and losing out on enjoying the C8 now would be a waste. If someone has the money, just trade up to a z06 when it comes out. You would still be way ahead on price for performance compared to the new $100k Cayman GT4 or Porsche 911 which is even more.
Matthew Jefferson lease the stingray for 2 years then lease the Z06 for another 2 years until the ZR1 comes out 😉

The third wheel from left to right is the way to go with a gunmetal or slate metallic and natural leather interior. It just screams classy and wicked! The red calipers would be a nice touch to set off the darker wheels and the dark paint scheme. Just my op

I am #6 on the first 15 allocations at my dealership. Be getting the car around Christmas. No addendums or mark ups, MSRP. Pretty sure Chevy is forbidding mark ups on MSRP at the dealer. But you better believe if you get a first allocation, you'll have an opportunity to sell it for $25000 or more over the actual value to someone who's too lazy to get their order in and too impatient to wait
The best spec would be a RAPID BLUE, with the Carbon 5 spoke wheel with edge red caliper with all visible carbon accessories or maybe the z51 package... With a Carbon-Racing Stripe and interior would be a black with blue stitching with blue seat belts.... 🔥🔥🔥🔥

They prolly don't want unnecessary markups because they want / expect to sell A LOT of these. The dealerships might get great incentives the more they sell. That is a GREAT interior.
