Great video. Brought back such lovely memories of the place. I graduated from Durham University two years back. A truly great university with wonderful staff. Shout out to all the staff in Theology department which is fortunately located in the Durham Cathedral premises. A very serene and wonderful nightlife and very safe too. I learnt a lot about the history of the place from your video. I didnt know the history behind some of the buildings and monument until I watched this video. Wished I had watched this video while I was still there. I would have appreciated those buildings and monument more.
One of my best friends Paul Chiwaya had a rare chance to study at the Durham University. He will never forget the one-year period he spent studying in Durham. He treasures the iconic architecture of the city and their medieval tone. He always sings great songs about Durham...
Love Durham what a classy place, I'm not sure if Durham is a town or a city! I love the Cathedral & the walk down into the winding streets! What a beautiful sunny day it was for you doing that walk & the Revolution Restaurant looks amazing with the views overlooking the River!
If you are watching this during the process of deciding where to study, I suggest you not to think twice. I just graduated and studied there for 4 years. It was an amazing experience. One of the negative things I read on the internet before going was that night life is bad compared to other cities. Yes this is true but you can take a train ride to Newcastle, one of the best night life cities in the uk, which takes approx 20 mins.
I graduated four years ago (Grey!) Nightlife used to be great in Durham, although I think Love Shack and Studio have closed and even Klute seems to have a few more rules thesedays! Still loved it and this last few years lockdown has persuaded me to return for my 2nd Degree in September, wish me luck! a bit less partying this time though!!!
You don't even know how much I love Durham. I was studying at University of Sunderland and would travel every weekend for a pint. Such a great atmosphere for students. Durham forever in my heart💙💙
Another fantastic & great video of DURHAM | Full tour of Durham City Centre from Durham Cathedral and Castle to Riverside | 4K Walk!.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
it has always been free, they ask if you want to donate, and sell the usual guides etc. the guides are useful if you haven't visited before. definitely worth a visit.
I luv your videos as always , i like when you tell us about the place and the history, its very interesting, I will never be visiting this places thats why I like you sharing your videos. music was nice and calming. thank you 😊
Thank you very much for posting. Can't say I like the music but the quality of the video is fantastic and far better than any I have seen. The fact you chose a lovely day as well to film it shows off (just by these couple of streets) why Durham is my favourite city in the UK and I feel so lucky just living about 12 mins drive from the Market Square.
Again, another part of the UK I don't know. I'm only familiar with Shropshire and the south east. One of my ex students, has just gone to Durham University, so it's nice to see. Another wonderful pick me up from you. ❤️👍👍
@@stephaniepee1 I did notice a few closed shops. That's the same in most towns I visit now - it's really sad . I think the answer is to change many of the retail buildings into residential and get people living in the town centres again to get them thriving and bustling once more

Too right but bus station has been obliterated thank goodness!!! Too many closed shops and the dreadful monstrosity of a building site at Milburn gate. Totally blocks the view of our beautiful cathedral as you come under the bridge. Such huge concrete buildings totally out of keeping!!!! What were the planners thinking????
It could be such a nice city but the town centre streets are filthy and has many dodgy drunk louts at weekends. I know it's a Uni town but does everyone have to shout instead of talking. City council need to clean the place up.

I love durham. But I find it ridiculous that the castle is a uni campus. You aren't allowed to look around unless you're at the uni or pay, unlike the cathedral which is free
