- I present to you my 20022 Crochet Along - the WHOOPA CAL has now officially started! The full pattern is now available on Ravelry and on my website and here is the second tutorial out of 10 daily video tutorials I'll be doing during the CAL - where I show you start to finish how to make tthe cardigan. Today I show you how we make the front and back left side piece.
In this year's Crochet Along we will crochet my big cozy Whoopa cardigan together, and don't you worry, I'll be with you every step of the way! it's a 10 day CAL and I'll be doing daily video tutorials, where I break this fun and easy cardigan down into 10 parts and I'll crochet the cardigan along with you from start to finish! ... no need to do it in 10 days, but that is non the less a very manageable speed, I usually make mine in less than a week!
Now I know many of you shy away from making wearables, but then this here is definitely the place to start! It's all made in one piece and it's done in bulky yarn and on a 7 mm hook, so it works up crazy quick!
ok, are you you ready! who's with me!!!!? I for one am super psyched to get started!!!
pattern available on Ravelry:

Thank you Ms. Tinna! I thought I understood the written instructions but seeing it done made the process so much easier. As always you are a joy to crochet with.❤
Happy to hear that! ❤️
I cycle through watching friends, Schitts creek, and what we do in the shadows. Or I just watch your tutorials. 😉
So funny. I watch Seinfeld all the time!! It just keeps running. Nine seasons on Netflix. Much better than the news! And crochet away! Loving the way my cardi is coming!! 😊
Ahaha sooooo much better than the news!! 🙈😉😂 … like his mum says: who wouldn’t like you (Jerry)!?!!?! 😂😂😂😂😉
OMG Alien Uterus! I nearly spewed my coffee onto the screen!😂🤪 That would be hysterical if #alienuterus was trending 😂😂😂 I will usually play movies/tv series that I’ve seen before and love. Like the Harry Potter movies, especially the earlier ones. Recently most Halloween themed movies. I also love watching 80’s & 90’ movies like the Goonies, The Lost Boys, Vibes, Galaxy Quest, and tv series like Stranger Things, CSI (and the spin-offs), etc. Anything that is good background noise. Having a wonderful time watching your videos!🙏🏻💓
Haha happy to hear that ❤️😘
That model you have is just exceptional to look at. Those hands 😍
Haha I know 😅 Krummi’s a looker 😉😅🤍
@@TinnaThorudottirThorvaldar 😉 He's A Handsome Man, No Doubt... Surprising To See So Few Comments About Him (Likely Out Of Respect) But He's A Great Model For The Rustic, Braided, Earthy Sweater. I've Had Nothing But Compliments & Will Be Posting Pics Soon.
Hi Tinna. I also love Seinfeld and can watch old episodes again and again. But my favourite thing to do in the whole world is to watch true crime programmes or UA-cam videos while I’m crocheting. I can do that all day; I call it “crimechet.”
Love your patterns and instructions. You are such a inspiration
Hallo Tinna!!
I love it when you count Stiches in Icelandic! 😍
Sorry if I make mistakes in English, I'm from Milan but I live in Hamburg and I can speaking German more fluently than English, but I can follow your videos very well. 😊😊
A cozy looking sweater with beautiful wool
Your instructions are always clear and well filmed!
Take care 🇨🇦❤️🍁
Thank you so much ☺️… struggling a bit with filming as the piece gets better, but I do my best ❤️
estaba confundida con las cadenetas y el nuevo ovillo con el que se hacen las cadenas y ahora lo entendí....amo tus videos!!! las explicaciones entre risas hacen el tejido más divertido aún 🥳🥳🥳🥳 Gracias 🤩
Hi Tina, will give this beautiful sweater a go when I get more experienced...love it ! I usually listen to music from the 60's-70's, depending on the mood. Seinfeld is timeless, the reruns never get old. I laugh just as much with the first time I've watched them as the 10th. Thank you for the great videos. ❤
I love that I'm learning to count in Icelandic!
Right now I'm watching and listening to you! 😂 Otherwise, I watch, or rather listen to mostly, home redesign shows. I sneak a peek every now and then. 🧶💗
I just can’t believe that I’m caught up and ready for video number three! I still can’t count to 10 in Icelandic but by the time this CAL is over I’m gonna be able to! Tonight I watched the season finale of War of the Worlds. ❤
Seinfeld! Wonderful! Reruns of MASH and the 5 older Star Trek series are my usual go-to’s while crocheting.
I’m also learning to count in Islantic!
How many people are doing the CAL do you think roughly Tinna? I have visions of thousands of households all over the world quietly counting away 🥳 Greetings from South Australia!
I am loving the whole video from start to finish!! Love the cozy cardigan, too!! ❤ from California!
I’m so glad you needed to recount. I recounted this so many times 😂😂 eventually decided two short (I’d found finding going in the bumps fiddly so wasn’t suprised.
Such a ray of sunshine☀️😃
I either listen to music or Indian mystics on youtube, but right now I'm also working my way through Game of Thrones. I have started plenty of times, but have ended up putting it in "shame corner" whenever one of my fave characters got killed😅 reached season 7 now, so maybe I'll finally get it this time.
I’m so glad you needed to recount made me feel better. I recounted this so many times 😂😂 eventually decided two short -I ’d found finding going in the bumps fiddly so wasn’t suprised.
Haha yup, always counting ‼️😅
I love Seinfeld too!!!! I don't "watch" anything because I find myself watching the TV because I can't crochet without looking. 🤣😂I keep my TV on FRIENDS or Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, just for background noise.
I like to listen to true crime podcasts while I crochet and sew. 💗
Yup, friends would do too 😉❤️
Love this !❤❤
The intros in the series eo far are amazing!
Thank you ☺️ … that’s my husband’s works ❤️
Felicidades tienes trabajos muy hermosos. Gracias por compartir. México
We love watching Scandi Noir films and tv shows.....my husband is well trained in crochet now as he asks if i am going to be doing crochet? If I am, he knows it better be something in English as I haven't mastered reading sub titles and crocheting at the same time 😂
Thank you for the wonderful tutorial!! I watch Murder she wrote or Colombo or classical movies as the music in the movies is very relaxing 🙂
Thanks !!is 2:35 am here in Los Angeles California
Lately I've been rewatching Kath and Kim on Netflix. I've been watching Columbos and the first Bob Newhart Show. Sometimes those can be a little too fascinating to watch while I crochet. (Did we really think this way, nearly 50 years ago?)
So happy to see this tonight. I had to frog back one version because I was going to run out of yarn and I've started another version with a true bulky weight yarn (it was supposed to be for another project but I'll just buy more yarn). Also had to restart a pair of knitted mittens because my gauge was off. With all of the Oops today, I couldn't understand how you started this part. Now it makes total sense!
I usually watch hockey when I'm doing repetitive or familiar crochet or knitting. If it's new pattern or a chart, just music.
Tomorrow morning I will start the alien uterus! 👽
😂😂😂 alien uterus up next!! 🙈😂❤️
The 1st "campfire" sweater I made for my 40 year old 🎂 birthday. It was a pinn but for a beginner at the time. I was p🐢💜💙🐻❄️
Had to share with you!!Julie
❤️❤️❤️
Hola Tinna! I love whatching your video while I am knitting a Harry Styles cardigan. Surely, when I finish this, I would buy your pattern. Is beautiful the cardi💖 xoxo Patricia. 🙋♀️🇦🇷
Gracias ❤️😘
I listen to documentaries while I crochet, or podcasts. No t.v. for me. I unplugged it a long time ago.
Would like to know if you could use 2 strands of wool, if you can’t get the bulky yarn. Love this pattern
So fun :)
Now that I've watched you, I'm watching Gilmore Girls for rhe millionth time lol next up, The office since I'm on the last season of this.
Would it be possible to see how you're joining your skeins, hiding your knots if any in the cardigan please. This is my worst skill so far lol
Thank you so much
I'm watching you while my hubby is watching the World Series
Perfect! ❤️
I had an extra stitch also when counting the 116 stitches across both sides and the sleeve. I think it's because we didn't need a turning stitch, so we only needed to chain 36 instead of 37 on that side? Anyway it was easy enough to fix. Loving this pattern, and I watch live safaris on youtube, or reruns of old sitcoms from the 60's 70's 80's
I figured out what I did wrong actually!! I pulled the tail one extra time through after chaining up for the front side (just out of habit!) when I was supposed to (and say in my own pattern 🙈😅) to just pull that last chain right up and tighten. Because I wanted 36 and that extra 37th was just to close it off 😉❤️
@@TinnaThorudottirThorvaldar I watched again and you're so right! I'm a copycat and did exactly the same thing 😅. Funny side note... I often turn the volume down very low and turn on the CC late at night while I follow along so I don't wake my hubs. Closed captions while you are counting in Icelandic give some really funny results! I woke him up because I was laughing so hard. 🤣
@@snipchick I Have Ear Buds For The Exact Same Reason, My Husband Has Been Sleeping In The Living Room Since His Leg Has Been Broken & He Can't Get Upstairs. Soo The Headphones Keep Everything Quiet -Until I Laugh With Tinna 😆
I'm wondering,if I could just skip chaining on the left side but instead crochet directly into the other side of the right chain when i passed the middle part of sleve?
I wouldn’t hold your breath for an answer. Once you have paid for the pattern, your on your own.
Just finished listening to Daisy Jones and the Six, I love audiobooks for crocheting, I also watch Friends or Bailey Sarian's Murder Mystery and Makeup Mondays on here.
I’ll have to check these out ❤️
@@TinnaThorudottirThorvaldar the author of Daisy Jones and the Six is absolutely brilliant and I've listened to her other book, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo three times now. Her name is Taylor Jenkins Reid. Brilliant. They're making Daisy Jones into a TV series.
I have a ton of movies on streaming…like Hallmark movies. They’re good movies because I can just listen and crochet. I don’t have to watch the tv. I can just go mindless for a time.
Listening to tv is key 😅 … it has to be really mindless crochet to do subtitles and plot 😉😂 … although by now, after making like 5 whoopas, I’m totally there!! Finnish Nordic dark crime series even 😉😂❤️
Can a foundation hdc be used in place of chain followed by hdc ?
Looking at your cardigan my sleeve looks way too small. My swatch was exact to the way you did yours. I wish you had put measurement in your paid for pattern.
Is there a Part 1???
currently watching 999 Rescue Squad (a docu-series that follows the Harzardous Area Response Team... HART for short, which is a medical-based unit in the UK)... but I kinda switch between medical docu-series, Sims/Planet Zoo LPs, or history documentaries...
Hello, I’m in Texas USA, and have watched all the episodes of the helicopter rescue squad on Britbox. Really enjoyed that show. I wish there were more episodes. Now I’m watching The Incredible Dr. Pol and vet shows n UA-cam tv. I love animals and vet shows.
Jhoehoeeeee😀
🤸🏻♀️❤️‼️
I am finding it a bit confusing since my row gauge is different and there aren't clear measurements while you're working the written pattern. It would be nice to know how many centimeters to work after adding the front and back side pieces of the body, I'm having a hard time trying to figure it out when it just goes by rows, rather than measurements. I'm making the medium and I have to add extra rows. I'm fairly new to crochet, but I can do this!
The sleeve is 35 short/40 cm long. The back and front 12,5 medium / 15 cm long 🤍 I understand that giving just the gauge can be confusing. I’ve done some measurements drawings and have added them to the fb group. I’ll add them to the pattern too 🤍 hope this helps 😘
Also, yes you can!! 😅 you’ve got this ❤️
@@TinnaThorudottirThorvaldar thank you so much! I think I've got the front and back where I need them now. Cannot wait for tomorrow. You're a rockstar and I love your work. Absolutely brilliant artistry.
@@TinnaThorudottirThorvaldar 😬I hope/wish you are mistaken! I have ended up with a 47 cm sleeve! 😳😢
I like to watch true crime, call the midwife and The Great British Bake Off
😍❤️🥰👏👏👏😘👍🧶
I am over here being the poopoo..but my sounds were off DAMMIT
