Viewer requested video. It’s a few months late but I had someone ask about how I bought and sold farm equipment. I figured I could answer it with a voiceover video.
Dont know if anyone cares but if you guys are stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all of the latest movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Been watching with my brother for the last couple of weeks xD
Thank you for your interesting video. I live up here in Alberta Canada and act as the middle guy between the construction equipment dealership and the buyer. I essentially bring the buyer to the dealership and I get a 2% commission if the buyer purchases the equipment. I too ran into tough times and had to make the decision one night that I needed to leverage all of my contacts in the construction industry to put food on the table. So far it’s going great and I love it. I wish you well!!
Nice to have a painter! I was selling stuff for a while and stopped. Juice wasnt worth the squeeze. People show up and low ball and play games, not my cup of tea, but was fun.
Interesting video, am retired so was downsizing some machines past summer due space time etc, love tractors etc but felt I was spending way to much time and money re repair and maintenance ( oil changes, tires, batteries etc) u know the drill lol,but the point of my comment is boy did I grow tired of dealing with buyers or customers who never showed up ,or brought tiny trailers ,or didn't even understand how to start or properly operate the tractor,or one guy who I gave a great deal to complaining or demanding small obscure missing part replacements??Anyway I could go on but really got a kick out of ur story, and on a good note a had a few old timer s show up on precisely the agreed time, paid their Bill and thanked me for being straight forward with them regarding the item being sold( like u I was detail ed and clear about my tractors good and bad, with in reasonable terms) thanks bud carry on
As I was listening to you talk about being out of work and trying to find a hussle I am walking in those same shoes and have an old beat up 1942 9n I'd like to buy and sell farm equipment but it's tough starting out for me man please send me prayers. Gotta keep my head up. God is good 🙏
I am 18 and i have a side hustle selling old balers, it’s easy af. Post a search in the newspaper , buy them for 2-3k max and sell them for 5-6. Some idiot will pay 5k for the shinties balers ever
Did same for a few years recently. Tractors, heavy equipment, travel trailers,YJ and a few TJ Jeeps.(TJ's are garbage btw). Best I did was on the Jeeps and military surplus. M-35 duece and a half trucks I would buy at auction from government for and average of $1200.00 a pop and after getting them titled and inspected I would sell for an average of $7500.00.Last one I was going to keep. Bought as a non-runner for $750.00 and after a $100.00 fix it ran like a top.Man came by and wanted it more than me and paid $9800.00 for it. Then I bought 14 Humvee trailers.Average buy price was $175.00. Took off the military tires and combat rims and sold those at $275.00 per. Put 16" rims and used tires on the trailers and sold at $1100.00 per trailer. With original combat rims and tires: $2200.00 a trailer.Every deal was cash only too. It was crazy. But,like you said dealing with people gets real old real fast. That's why I stopped too.
Most times it’s clutch issues with loader tractors. You can test it by putting it in the highest gear, hold down the brakes, let out the clutch, if it still running, clutch slips. If it stalls, than it’s ok
My biggest peeve is when they say call for price, usually means so they can flap their gums about how rare it is and perfect condition. funny how some of your hand motions went with what you were saying, lol.
Sorry I missed your comment, it was in the spam folder for some reason. I have been having a lot of comments end up there. I believe it was a #11 but can’t remember. It was pto driven and had the small points for a super C, or 200
PA Farms . I've been looking for a # 11 for a few years now to round out my Fast Hitch implement collection. Missed one in 2016 at an auction. They're hard to find and even harder to get one in good condition. Cheers! Whipple
oh tell me about it, dealing with people, that is why i closed up my business, you loss day in time if your not rude and just say, you want it or not, if not see ya.. is is bad enough doing the odd welding job here and there then getting the cash up front, because to get it after its done for get it, they are all good with the cost before you start but totally a different story when its all done
I always like a detail description and lots of pictures it's a time saving both buyer and seller
I think that’s the best way to do it so you only get serious buyers.

@Titus Terrence Yea, have been watching on InstaFlixxer for since december myself :D

Nice story. Glad you hung in there. I put a few ads on Craigslist people would call all times of the nite. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Yea that was an issue. Would be the middle of the night and phone would ring
Good for you that you had the resources to back you up during hard times! 👍
Yea I was glad to make it through that. I probably don’t want to go back to that.
Thanks for sharing your story! So far, it is cool and cloudy here this morning.
We just had a huge storm roll through here.
Sounds like it worked for you when you and your family needed it to. Good video with good information.
Nice to have a painter! I was selling stuff for a while and stopped. Juice wasnt worth the squeeze. People show up and low ball and play games, not my cup of tea, but was fun.
Yea it’s nice when they drive off and you have a roll of cash to show for it

Thanks for the feedback and for watching

I’ve been down that same road and get the same frustrations. I still do it occasionally though, guess I enjoy it too much.
Yea the cash at the end is definitely a great feeling!
Pretty neat how you did do that with equipment, seems like I buy farm equipment and screw myself on it and don’t make money in the end lol
Yea I didn’t want to loose money. I bought a fast hitch corn planter and only was able to get what I paid for it.
How do you know what to price stuff at?
Thanks for sharing, realy enjoyed it. Is this the start of a story time section ?😊
Thanks. In the winter I used to do a Friday story time.
Good work bro
Thanks
Great story
Thanks. Will have to bring back Friday story time again
Oh nice. I left a like.
Thanks
Good story !
Thanks.
How did you start faming equipment wise?
Awesome video I hope to see A little video serious on one piece
Do you mean the equipment I sold. I have the list I can go through.
Meant more. Like get a peace of equipment And redo and sell all on camera
I have a case 485 with a loader if interested in central pa. $5000. Slips in forward gears though, any ideas!? Mcv, clutch?

I'm considering taking my 1086 to my local dealer to sell on consignment because dealing with some people can be a PITA.
how much you asking for 1086?
Yea they sold about 10 pieces of equipment for me. All I had to do was stop in and get the check.
That's an interesting story
Thanks

I hate the call for price. It makes no sense as a buyer. As a seller all it does is make your phone ring all day from people who may not be interested
Interesting..... It seems people are the same all over the world😁
Yea I guess they must be.
. Was your Fast Hitch rake a #11? Whipple

Do you wish you kept some of it
Yea I definitely could use some of the equipment I used to have.
Want buy
I always looked at a "lazy posting" as "hiding something."
Yea or you see the rust bucket Farmall H that’s been in the fence row for 30 years and they want $3k
@@PAFarms HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yea some customers were great and you had no trouble with, some were just a nightmare
I'm in north eastern part of pa and see this alot to and over priced stuff to
Yea seems to be a theme. Lots of dealers importing from out west too
@@PAFarms this is true I dont know what part of pa you're in but near me there a dealer in meshoppen that it was over priced on stuff
