THE TIME HAS COME! This definitely has to be the most complex trailer I've ever worked on but I hope everyone enjoys it! :)
For those interested, here's the backstory I came up with when concepting the storyboard for this video:
The Red faction is struggling to hold the line after a new alliance between the Blue and Green factions. They are in retreat and 2 task forces have been given the job of defending a strategic station in orbit around Pertam and an industrial facility on the surface. Both are important for the supply line and the war effort.
The Blues have prepared and sent their newest fleet of modernized motherships to take over the orbital station. Meanwhile, the Greens with their advanced ground vehicles, stage a full frontal assault on the industrial facility.
Losing control of these assets would be a devastating blow for the Reds. Unfortunately for them, both of these facilities have seen better days and the Red engineers must race to upgrade the defenses before the enemy arrives...
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
You did a great job. It was very well put together. Thank you.
in my opinion, this is the best trailer yet :)
it all looks fantastic, is there any possibility for the asteroid base world save to be uploaded to the workshop?
It's freaking awesome, good job! O_O
The trailer was fantastic! When i saw the new modular turets I gasped, no joke.
2:00 Love the homage to the classic ramming scene. Those Red and Blue ships sure have come a long way, and evolved!
Watching the blocks deform in the original ram scene was what finished selling the game for me waaaaaaaay back, loved the reference, haha.
I was just about to comment that. Sent shiveres down my spine and reminded me of the alpha days
It's been 8 years already... holy shit how time flies... o.O
The Space Engineers story art is an awesome one, and very close to my heart-
oh how the time has flown.
"Ah, classic Space Engineers" I thought watching that.
Now all we need is server stability and AI to actually shoot at
yeaaah. this video is only possible in a world with no ping issues
RIP Fountain Core. May demolish50 resurrect you one day...
It has come
Whoever filmed and edited this - Whoa dude. This is the best I've ever seen. The update looks cool too.
The guy who runs their streams writes and edits it.
Xocliw
The music made this some Star Wars level shit. Amazing.
They definitely were inspired by some Star Citizen cinematic choices. Very cool though and good presentation 👌
@@Zyfe more like Battlestar Gallactica
This update singlehandedly made me want to make a mk 2 of all of my combat vehicles
Amen to that.
It certainly got my attention. I've been out of Space Engineers for years now, and this is about to pull me back in.
Yep except one of mine is now up to Mk VII
You can now make custom battleship cannons or an aa gun or a ball turret for your b-17 style bomber
By the gods, THIS FEELS LIKE A SCENE FROM BATTLESTAR GALACTICA!
The drums really solidified this feeling! Kudos!
The music used is definitely inspired by prelude to war
I'm getting my men
The Turret control block was an unexpected star of the update for me. Its injected new life into old rotor turret blueprints that seldom got used.
Amazing. The homage to the older trailers, the way some of the effects are so good they look almost edited in (that first large railgun shot - it's like watching the old sounds overhaul trailer all over again), the logistics making sense in the trailer and game, the effort put into these builds... it's all so good. You guys really have made something special here. I love that you've also made it so while we do have smaller turrets we can slap onto whatever, we also still can build larger ones with the stationary weapons - it's reminding me of From The Depths, which is renowned for its intricacy in craft building, but these are more functional, easier to build, and look, dare I say it, better and more fun.
Those turret-mounted spotlights are also a dream come true, and having them target allied or, in some cases (particularly if colors can be changed), enemy craft will be so interesting and fun.
This DLC is very impressive it maybe the best DLC they've put out so far. I wasn't expecting it to be this good.
This is so exciting! Cant wait to design some cool tanks. SE is so underrated!
Ikr
Wait you play space engineers love your content btw
Now just need to nerf the jetpack accel/braking so that people actually use these cool vehicles in battle instead of flying in with the launcher dodging everything and respawning over and over again if they die for no cost at all.
and this is why we need PDF railguns
I have been waiting for the day were we finally get more weapons.
This is the day. THANK YOU!
Man why are all the space engineers cinematics so GOOD?
Even the main menu background ones are really good!
it’s also great to see the evolution of the faction’s ships compared to previous versions.
Because without them they wouldn't be able to milk this dead horse
I'd love to see TRACKS in a content pack as an alternative to wheels. This would be awesome for vehicle designs, and I'm pretty sure the community would be able to come up with some amazing creations.
Like if you agree
that seems like it would be easy enough functionally its just a long wheel
I wish battles like the scale of the one on this trailer happened more often and you didn’t have to fight lag
or frames
was just gonna say that. Considering the amount of ships and bases in matter of PCU the servers would be glowing red hot. Your 1st core in the processor would be a miniature sun.
The latter scenes definitely remind me of Command and Conquer, quad cannons, tanks with two barrels, your defences getting hopelessly overrun Aah, the memories.
You just made every single vanilla warship obsolete, this will revolutionise warfare!
you might have been making your ships wrong!
@@alyssadavenport629 Great non-sequitur!
yes and no. Script based guided missile ships still outrange these weapons by far. Bu now you habe to use a lot of missiles since CIWS can be made to dish out exponentially more damage.
As a fan since the first hour of Space Engineers, I am truly amazed. Great job Keen!
Ok, now all my ship are outdated, this update will be amazing
Been playing this game since the very beginning when the alpha launched in 2013. And it has been my favorite game ever since. I love how to much the game and its community has grown over the years and I look forward to it growing still. Watching the red ship ram the blue ship in half is very nostalgic and is something I have replicated more than I care to admit. I still remember exploring the old asteroid map when it wasn't procedurally generated and my excitement when voxel deformation was introduced. This game has come a very long way since creative was added and its DirectX 9 days. I cant wait to see where it goes next. Maybe underwater. or maybe a procedural planet system to fill out the empty void with cities, ghost towns, alien ruins, dense jungles, volcanic hellscapes, tropical beaches, who knows. In an infinite universe, there are infinite possibilities to explore so lets see where we end up all we need to do is take the first step.
If you are interested I just made a fresh SE server I'm calling it Outercosmica.
After years, finally, I have a reason to get back into SE!
Don't get me wrong, the other stuff they've been putting out was cool and all, but the weapons sandbox was just so dull it was hard to make stuff more complicated than just armor composition and hull design.... until now
It will be like always, you play it for some days until you remember why you stopped playing...
@@gerardoliveras430 you stop playing SE?
We need this as a playable scenario, like one massive scale TDM.
with sim speed 0.1
@@brainzucka what do u play on? I could at least get .9 on my Xbox one
Really great looking update these devs don’t get enough credit in the industry
Except every update they do is just adapted from mods repackaged and sold as dlc.
@@Malimber no doubt the community is great as well
@@nerdglider well yeah because they make the things that keen gets "inspired" by.
@@Malimber To be fair, there isn't much that mods haven't already added. Or would you rather them not add new weapons to vanilla?
Probably don't get much credit in the industry because the game did a slow flop as people came to the realization that Keen was never going to be capable of making it run well online. You can't fight two ships without a lagfest and frame drops, a battle like this is pure fantasy unless it's being played out on a lan over top of the line gaming computers. Keen had neat ideas for the time SE was first coming out, but they could never properly execute the hard parts (net code mostly). TBH instead of trying to make the game a small scale mmo, or at least persistent survival game, they should have billed it from the start as a sandbox and coop experience. A campaign something like beseige, but with more focus on killing enemy ai, and a similar coop experience, plus a sandbox where you could set up your own scenarios. The poor performance would have been much more acceptable there.
It's a shame that none of this is possible in the actual game
it is possible, just unlikely
2:03 The Fact that it has the unsc infinity vibes and its epic
They just get better and better!
Love the Prelude To War from Battlestar galactica inspired music. And the drums like when Pegasus rams the basestar.
At 0:03 the ship is shaking like it's moving, but the speedometer on the helm LCD is saying otherwise...
XD
No doubt the ship at the start is a stationary ship containing 16 players and the shots of it flying around are a ship with only 1 player on board, with the other 15 now switched over to acting as the ground crew. If every ship in this video had multiple people on it (as is implied), the server would be a slide show.
This is a not a speedometer, but an accelerometer. In this game you can reach some speed, like 100 m/s and just turn off inertial dampeners, so you will fly at that speed, but "speedomenter" will show 0.
@@RealAp6ahob While that may be true, what are the chances that the pilot was saving fuel by coasting the ship, rather than it being a stationary ship with a shake effect added in post?
That's something a player might do, but not a developer with infinite fuel and ammo.
@@tryveliek7799 I am almost certain they are using the replay tool, and a lot of editing.
2:40
I love the awkward stare they had
i still remember back then....with no planets and all these things.....this game did really grow beautiful. Thank you^^
btw. i had to look twice because midway i thought i was watching a Star Wars episode.
I'm absolutely buzzing for this, thanks for your hard work Keen 😎❤️
Here for my regular re-watching of this.
Best trailer ever! Whoever picked the music was on point. The first part of the music even has some BSG vibes to it.
Absolutely beautiful as expected. litteral goosebumps. You guys have outdone yourselves on this one, huge kudos.
This is so awesome and well done. It was so cool watching this live, and tbh I watch this over and over because it’s so awesome
The sound design on these weapons is truly something. You can really feel the weight behind each shot
Well done putting all this together. It is truly spectacular.
Woow dude! The trailer is legendary! Well done!!
This looks amazing! Can’t wait to try it out
I've been playing this game for wayyyyyy to long so happy with this thankq keen!!!!!
This is a fabulous update, great work!
keen we needed this and i just wanna say all of you in keen software are amazing keep up the good work and for gods sake gimme more of these movies damn
This was definitely a work of art, well worth the wait.
Congrats, 👏 👏 by far my favorite update! Looking forward to building some mechs and excavators.
Oh. My. God. This is what I've been waiting for for so many years! And finally this update is here. Hurray! Thank you for your long work. You love your creation. I love your creation. I'm just ssooooo happy!
Ok, been a long time since I last played but now I feel the urge to create some combat vessels.
This all looks awesome!
These trailers are always excellent and this update looks awesome. I can definitely see the spotlight being used for some cinematic scenes like a helicopter manhunt and the light panels will make some clean corridors
Great work with the score! Really great video!
Yo space engineers team. If you make your game not lag when people play together that would be great. Good PCs, good servers, no mods game always lags.
That was such an epic trailer. Well done!
Very awesome trailer, well done!!!
This is why I love SE. great development team and a passionate modding community. Just means endless fun. Gg Keen. Can’t wait
Space Engineers has come such a long way. Awesome
That ramming speed scene felt like the Pegasus ramming the basestar from battlestar galactica
AWESOME! I'm so excited for this!
What I wanna know, is the details of the world/server settings for that to _not_ be lagging like mad with 20+ ships (~10+ large-grid, similar or more small-grid) not only moving, but firing at, and tearing each other apart...
Good luck reproducing this for real
To everyone involved in making this trailer fantastic job
You guys are awesome!!!!
This is in my apinion is the best cinematic video you've done so fare
As always space engineers created a absolutely amazing vid!
best SE trailer so far.
love to re-watch it every now and then
3:47 Pilot: "Maybe, if I turn it sideways-"
Sucks that everything in this trailer needs you to have like 10-20 friends ready to get together & play. The singleplayer experience is an an absolute WASTELAND with nothing to do except build bigger stuff just to have bigger stuff now. The complete lack of any sense of PvE in this game sucks & it continues to feel like the devs have built a fun sandbox but forgotten to add the game. Really hard to come up with goals when playing if not playing with other people. You just build stuff ~for the sake of it~ as there is no meaningful adversary whatsoever. Even with mods the actual gameplay experience without a group of people ready to play together isn't remotely like this trailer at all & more like a whole lot of nothing most of the time.
Sadly i must agree. I love this game, and ocasionally come back to build something new, but there really is no point in the end.
watch the initial 15 minutes of the update livestream where they talk about their plans for the future 🙂
What avout drone attack gamemode?
10-20 friends who have the DLCs
@@jh5kl Yup. Alot of talk.
God I have been looking so much forward to this and boy oh boy it doesn’t disappoint. Btw these trailers are fantastic as always☺️👍
This trailer was awesome. ❤
Time to try these parts out then. 👍
I like how the shark helmet is just there, doesnt even fit thematicaly, its just there...
Absolutely epic!!!
You know for a game that still looks like this. The editing on this video with the music had me locked in and watching every moment of it. Mad props to the editor
These are getting ridiculous in terms of scale and detail! I really appreciate the work you put into this game, and SE remains one of my most played games of all time :D
Cracking. Downloadin now and as soon as the kids are asleep I'm doing some upgrades! :)
The new blocks look great and all, but I think i had more fun with this trailer spotting cool vehicles new and old. :P
For instance those green team Landers look like a slightly updated version of one of my favourite ships from the workshop. :D
Phenomenal trailer.
Absolutely sick af
It’s beautiful 😭
It's nice to see videos of things that never happen in Space Engineers, it's like Marvel's What If? series
Epic!!!!! I might actually have to buy this game NOW!
Get it, it's one of my favorite games and I highly recommend it
I have waited a long time for this moment... my little keen friend
The Red Shuttle is incredible. Thanks for putting it on the workshop.
Love the smal cargo carts driving around the base already trying to make those looks so awesome
this is so well made
I am SUPER hyped for this. It's been ten years since I picked up SE and this is one of the first things to draw me back in a long time
I am a mec builder and you have just made me smile and made me super excited for this update now my mecs will have railguns and autocannons and now artillery for my sniper models can't wait!!!!!
Waw this clip is awesome !
Finally , u are the best as ever )
Great video!
Very nice

This is Incredible
Love the targeting system! Its got that new ship smell!
My god dude I love this Developers keep up the badass work. Cant wait to get home and get this dlc
I kept getting lost around that blue ship looking for the bridge for a bit. But I eventually figured it out.
Beautiful ♥

This game never ceases to amaze me. This trailer gives me chills. I wish my computer didn't brick itself lol. Excited to rejoin the community once I have enough money for a one!
