Phenomenal talk Andrew! I saw your previous "will it fillet" talk and it gave me whole new set of skills to use. This one takes it another step. Can't wait for your next presentation.
This is a very helpful video. I used Alias mostly and have been trying to work more with SWx. Thanks for the upload! There's few videos dealing with advanced level blending and curvature control on UA-cam.
energ8t That s because you are crap at surfacing. Sw is a shit program for surfacing, that does not allow any control whatsoever. Good only for peole who have no knowledge and cannot surface. SW is world famous for being the shittiest thing for car modeliing for example. SW doesnt know the meaning of CLASS-A surfacing also. Nobody with surfacing knowledge uses this shit. This program is only good for making mechanical parts. For surfacing is a joke !
Very nice work and explanation. I have some confusion with the style splines. Do you have any example videos somewhere where you have a sketch picture behind that you are using to create the splines by "tracing" the pic? I am confused where to place the control vertices of the style guide while "tracing". I am really struggling with this. Thanks!!
The new style spline is not using more "advanced" math as you keep stating here.. Nurbs and Beizers, bsplines are very specific formulas, you cant' change them or make them more advanced they are what they are. Continuity is only obtained one way with these specific equations. Solidworks and Pro/e always spew the word "Parametric", ironically the only parametric equation they actually use are Beizers.. since Brep is all vectors, CSG is just Boolean algebra

45:39 I think you did use an offset of the line with .3000 inch :)
Awesome work.. Really helpful to get those basics correct..
Thanks..very clear
Thankyou
perfect!
