It’s difficult not to be influenced by this style once you watch it. I’m not a film student or a filmmaker at all but after watching his films something clicked and i started fantasising about becoming a director.
Wong Kar-Wai, the master of craft, has my utmost respect, he gave some of the best cinematic experiences in my life! He beautifully captures the tales of a platonic love, that's melancholic and devastating in nature and it's loneliness and unfulfilled desires in a magically way which everytime sends me into a trance that I had never experienced before!
The playful spirit with which Wong Kar-wai shapes his characters is the same spirit he adopts when manipulating the time of images, musical insertions, dialogues and situations. This selection of scenes and the precise choice of this music beautifully represent the work of this director. Great job! Amazing.
Just in case anyone would like to know more about the music. Ye Can is a transliteration from the original chinese title 夜餐, which means 'dinner'. The song is from the movie Chungking Express, composed by Hong Kong actor/composer Frankie Chan 陳勳奇 and composer Roel A. Gracia. Thank you TBO. Happy Lunar New Year~!
I was scrolling through movies and i saw this movie’s poster and was immediately sold. Haven’t watched it yet and don’t know what the plot is yet but i know i will love it
I'm not seeing any mention in the comments of Christopher Doyle, the cinematographer who collaborated with Wong Kar Wei on all of these films.... he deserves credit here too.
Bella,Bella, Bella…WKW is a pure visual, aural poet with every frame wringing out the last ounce of blood, tears of joy & a slice of hope from the spent heart of his viewers. I suspect it must’ve been difficult to choose the “beauty of” scenes for this montage from the enormous & stunning visual library of WKW’s 🎥. Great job & justice on editing and presenting a most moving “the beauty of WKW” ✌🏼& 🎥
Je me suis fait toute la filmographie de Wong Kar Wai la semaine dernière, il a rejoint le panthéon de mes réalisateurs préférés :) Cette vidéo tombe à pic, et cette musique 🤌
One of the most unique directors in history, a lot of the actors who played in his movies "complained" about Wong Kar Wai, because he would take countless reshoots even if the shot was perfect, he would scrap it and do it all over again, shooting the same scene 30+ times, until he captures the moment he truly wanted, and the result is what you are seeing in this video, absolute vibe, just pure emotion presented, you don't even need dialogue to understand their thoughts.
Hello, it would be appreciated if you also mention the films' name and year of release. Also waiting for beauty of satyajit ray and apichatpong weerasethakul. Great content, love from India ❤️
Underrated comment because I recently saw nightmare alley and I was completely blown away by the visuals, color grading, details from that time period, and the insane cast!
Man, WKW was so prolific during the 90s and into the early 00s. I just love the look and mood of his films. Good choice of song too, it suited the visuals. Most would've chosen Yumeji's Theme from ITMFL but instead you went with Night Stack from Chungking Express.

May I ask where you get your footage? If you pirate, from what website can I pirate in 4k?
@@divinerdan8413 buy the bluray
@@TheBeautyOf well, sure, but let’s say, Arcane, for instance, which you made a video on a few weeks back. That can’t be bought on blue ray.
One of the most unique filmmakers of all time. At my film school, everyone imitated his style at least in part.
I bet that was eye rolling

Taxi driver (1976) ❤️
Loneliness and neon lights? Sounds about right.
He may have invented loneliness but I’m perfecting it

Sounds great! With which movie should I start? Thanks!
@@MaxRokkatansky in the mood for love.
There's no style over substance or substance over style for Wong Kar-wai, he perfected both equally.
IKR it's absolutely fantastic!
Fallen angels is the most underrated movie. The style the realism the feels of being lonely and most importantly music. Masterpiece. Can change lives.

Brilliant description of how I felt watching In The Mood For Love (2000), well less platonic perhaps but my heart was pounding with the characters.
How can anyone be this good at something?! His work is breathtaking in its simplicity and ability to convey emotion.

Shoutout to Christopher Doyle, the man behind some of the most distinctive, genius cinematography in the history of film!✨

Been waiting for this in forever….. A top 5 director of all time for me! You did a great job in capturing his style.
None other director can capture loneliness as good as Wong Kar-Wai.
Every scene looks like a wallpaper of a story

You put Fallen Angels ending on your ending is the best.....
excellent cut from excellent choice of works
For anyone trying to find it, the background is Night Snack, featured in Chunking Express, instead of Night Stack.
Not to throw any shade but I think It should be the beauty of Wong Kar Wai & Christopher Doyle.
His work is overwhelming
Been waiting for this one
