I was very fortunate to test ride the ‘all new upgraded 2021’ Triumph Bonneville Street Twin and give my honest first ride opinion.
(Thanks Triumph) would highly recommend a test ride!
I use the following equipment and software to edit my VLOGs:-

Insta 360 One X2
GoPro Media Mod
Purple Panda Lavalier 3.5mm Microphone (Sellotaped in Helmet)
Standard GoPro mounts positioned on Bike & Helmet
LumaFusion editing software 4K
My Motorcycle Clothing Helmet & Boots are:-
RST Blade two piece leathers

Sidi Vertigo Boots (Getting a bit old now)

I currently own a Harley but it is for sale. If I can sell it by Spring I hope to own my first Triumph. I'm 70 years old and have owned many motorcycles since 1967, mostly Japanese bikes and four Harleys. I've got my eye on a red 2023 Triumph Speed Twin 900 Chrome Edition. The only thing I am worried about is the more rear set foot controls of the Triumph. It's been a long time since I've ridden a bike with such rear set foot controls.
You say you have your favorite bike and you also said you own one. I am curious, which is your favorite? and which one do you own?
I also like the T100, but I prefer the alloy wheels so I can run tubless tires and I like the upswept pipes so don't have to remove the silencers to adjust the chain or change the rear tire. We usually average 15,000 miles a year so that means I change a lot of tires. Love the looks of the peashooter exhaust on the T100, but they are just in the way.

Hi Gene you’ll love the Speed Twin they are amazing bikes with an excellent comfortable riding position. Those chrome editions look great too, I owned the triumph street 765 RS for a couple of years…the build quality and performance is outstanding. I now currently own a CCM spitfire Six which is a single cylinder 600cc so completely different to anything I’ve ever owned. Take care.
I’ve got a 2018 version so slightly less power but still plenty of go for the road , it’s a beautiful bike

Great review, spot on. I’ve owned one for about four years, I was attracted to by it’s low seat height i.e. conducive to the smaller person. BUT, for the smaller person, the shear weight of the bike at standstill is a real issue, 217 Kg is a significant weight If it catches you out e.g adverse road camber or gravel under foot.

Test rode the T100 T1200 but decided on the street twin looks sound and ride , bang for buck kills the others.
I do like the Street Twin tbh. I’ve not yet managed to ride the T120. There is a T100 video on the channel if you fancy a watch. Cheers Jake.
nice review....I am trading my T120 for a Street twin ..The Street twin has a nippier engine....handles better around the twisties..faster from standstill to say 60. The T120 is very Comfortable but heavy steering after a long ride ..more suited to A roads than B roads

Thanks! Yes I would say it could definitely be used as a daily computer without issues in my opinion. Great bike this one!
Hope they have sorted the wiring issues out now. My 2018 street twin had complete new harness with 1200 miles on clock.
Hi Michael yes hopefully it has, I think there was a recall a while back.
Yep, that’s one reason I got rid of mine. I think the problem is caused by the ancient frame design not being conducive to the vast size of the wiring loom now required for all the complex electronic systems. This causes it to be stretched across the headstock each time the bars are turned. Eventually the insulation is compromised as is the internal wire continuity. Unfortunately, the recall does not address this problem in my humble opinion. There is also the gearbox issue to be aware of on this, and other Triumph models.
@@user-rf9me7xm1w I LOOKED INTO IT 3 main reasons ,number 1 the wiring loom is to short and routed wrong at the factory when they replaced my complete loom they said the loom is the same part number as the original just routed differently to give more slack at the headstock.If you turn the bars lock to lock you can hear the wiring straining like a ship on a mooring robe.Number 2 problem is the headlight brackets , on the inside edge their is a ridge which rubs on the loom .The new 2021 models have different brackets I believe.Third problem,clutch cable rubbing on the loom .Triumph did a recall for this ,with a modified clutch bracket .3 months after my bracket was fitted my lights started playing up .
Sorry to hear about all that Michael. it’s a shame that a lovely bike is let down by such a fundamental problem. The wiring on mine used to creak as well and the front indicator stopped working. The dealer fixed that before the warranty ran out. The well documented problem with the gearbox selector shaft was the last straw, so I part exchanged it for a new Yamaha.

I own this model bike and been great for me for the last 2yrs. I,ve had no electrical issues. I find the gearbox fine, be firm with it, and you will always find a cog. The sound and torque is very addictive. Looks nice, well put together. I'm 58, I will keep this bike, but will try to add the Trident to it, rather than trade. Will be interesting to compare them.

Should be fine I would say but would always recommend you test ride for yourself.
It's a very nice bike but in my 2021 version the gearbox is not superb to be honest.
Smooth sometimes at certain RPM but very harsh and clunky at others.
Has bike had its first service, What mileage has is covered. I didn’t notice any issues with gear change’s tbh. Cheers Jake.
2.000 miles more or less and yes it has been serviced
I owned a 2017 model for a short time and found changing up from second to third gear always very clunky. Also, changing into first from neutral was really very noisy. It spoiled the riding experience for me. I've now swapped it for a Yamaha and the gear change is light, positive and noise free, even the neutral to first gear change.
@@user-rf9me7xm1w I noticed it also depends on the outside temperature... the gearbox tends to perform better in mild weather as opposed to hot climates (does it make sense?)
@@c.g.c2067 That’s interesting but the ST is sold in extremely hot countries, so it should still work effectively using the oil specified by Triumph. I can’t understand why the gearbox in question hasn’t been perfected during the many years it’s been in production.
am 6ft...do you think am too tall for this bike ??
Should be fine Anthony! I’d recommend a test ride to be sure.
I’ve not had a problem and am about 6ft but I’ve got the Triumph bench seat rather than the standard seat.
