You act like having a complicated and rarely used progression is the backbone to a great song. It's not... not even in the slightest. Haha. If anything, that could negatively impact a song like this. Not his guitar skills. Lmao. At the endcof the day, he's a damn good vocalist. Other than that, the only factor 99.9% of the people listening to this song are going to care about, is having instrumentals that hit in a satisfying way. Considering just how well received this had been, I would say it did just that. I'd also say it's very likely that this is nothing more than a case of you having unattainable expectations. I bet you're the kind of person who would complain at a 5 star restaurant for them not providing ketchup. 🙄
