- Please don't get any wrong ideas from this video. I actually enjoyed this game quite a bit. I just can't remember anything that happened in it for the life of me.
This is also my first time ever making this type of video, so I'm sorry if its not the greatest.. XD.
I like your editing style! good video eh!
No. Just no. I've just finished the first game again about a week ago, and am now getting with the second one again. the last time I played through the series was about four years ago, And they both hold up extremely well (in The Nathan Drake Collection; U1 possibly doesn't hold up as well *on PS3,* but in the collection they refined the controls, aiming, grenades etc. to be more in line with the later ones). The *only* area where I felt U1 has become a bit dated is that the game occasionally misunderstands if you want to roll or enter cover - emphasis on *occasionally*, but nowhere near enough to hinder the gameplay in any significant way.
Other than that, out of all your points of criticism, the only one I'll concede is that the plot of1-3, and The Lost Legacy, is quite simplistic. But so are the plots in Indiana Jones and the Tomb Raider games, which the entire franchise was heavily inspired by. It's by and large a "fun, light-hearted romp"-type action flick, which doesn't try to be anything dark or heavy handed. The fact that Nate kills dozens to hundreds of people throughout the game, and is still played up to be a hero, is also a staple of that same kind of swashbuckling adventure stories - and it works within that context because it's always in self-defense. Plus, you say it isn't addressed in the game, but it actually is, twice - once in the opening act when Nate vehemently refuses to bring lethal weapons to the museum heist, and once again when you beat Lazarevic, and he says: "you think I am a monster... but how many people have you killed, just today?"
The fact you say the gameplay is bad or boring baffles me. I don't know what to tell you. Just... go home, you're drunk.
Now that you explain it like that, I do see where you’re coming from in the story aspect. That’s a different way of looking at the story I didn’t really think about.
everyone was raving about this game "taking storytelling to new heights" back when it came out. Funny how the modern perspective dismisses all that
Not necessarily the "modern perspective", this is simply "another perspective". Many people (myself included) obviously disagree with most of this video and still find Uncharted 2 to be amazing to this day. So it's not about "modern" perspective, it's just personal subjective taste, nothing wrong with that.
The uncharted series is amazing
21 subs, wow. MAKE THAT 22
This game is awesome
Just casually binging videos when coming across this and thinking nothing of it as it's up to the same quality of all the other videos... then scrolling down to see you only have 3 SUBSCRIBERS!! WTF?!!
Well you gotta 4th now frend.
Me too I was genuinely shocked 😭
I watched 6 mins and had to stop. Not surprised at all. At the beginning he said he didnt even start the games for ages cause of some batman game. I figured this is some young kid. Then his analysis about the relationships made me wonder how is he so simple minded and then he admitted he doesnt click with females so it all makes sense.
@shoogamoogaman Thank you for the kind words
this is a really well put together video i was actually surprised when i saw how many subs u had, u deserve so much more!!!! just subbed!!
I'm gonna disagree with your takes about superhero movies, any film that is made (unless it is free to watch) is a cashgrab. It doesn't make the films bad or "not films" just cause you don't like the films coming out.
That's like me saying that Saints Row 2022 is not a video game just because I didn't think it was too great from what I played of it.
I feel like the term cashgrab is just arbitrary and nonsensical. Every film is a cashgrab if you have to pay to watch it.
When I refer to something as a cash grab, I am saying that the piece of media in question was made with the sole intent of turning a a monetary profit. In other words, these films are being made to make money, and not to actually be an artistic expression meant to inspire people. I know that if this was the only metric by which films were considered to be “cash grabs”, than a lot of films would be considered cash grabs. I just picked out what I considered to be some of the worst examples.
i love 2000's games
Have you played Dusk?
No I’ve never heard of it until now.
How am I here? 12 subs I suppose we shall make it 13
You must be real fun at parties.

How am I here 13 subs I suppose I shall make it 14
Play uncharted 4.
I plan on it.
Uncharted 3 is… umm… 😬
But Uncharted 4 is very story driven and has lots more character development and emotion to it than most if not all prior Uncharted games 🫨
Yeah, I’ll play that one soon. Tbf that game is the reason I want to play all the games before it first.
Oh, same story here. Got Uncharted 4 first, then played the other 3 via Nathan Drake collection. 🫠👌
