The bounce is the key feature of Samba so we must demostrate that in the figures. I believe there are exceptions. In the figures I know, I think there is no bounce in the Promenade Counter promenade Runs, nor do I see bounce when the lady rolls out and in. Some Natural and Reverse Turns do not have bounce. I think those have different timing eg. 1/2, 1/2, 1. I only know basic figures; pretty sure there are other exceptions.
Thank you for always thoughtful comments , Henry. I’m blessed to have you ! You are right, there is no bounce in promenade runs (3/4 1/2 3/4 timing) and all figures with SQQ, QQS, QQQQ etc. Reverse turns though can be danced with bounce and without. The basic way is still 1a2, with SQQ option as well (like rolls). 🤗🙏
Great advice.
Thank you, Dean!
