Those Airwalks were heavy, but they lasted forever. I cut mine down like half cabs. I don’t think I’d wear them today but it would be nice to have a pair in the collection.
I don't think the Staba's are that bad. The silhouette is cool, but it had that early 2000's bulk which didn't produce a good mixture. I think if they were slimmed down a bit, they'd look great. I do happen to miss a lot of that early 2000's experimentation in skate shoe designs. Things got pretty boring 2007-onwards in my opinion. I'd love to see some more creativity brought back into skate shoe designs.
I hear you. The list is just for fun I’m not that serious about my hatred. Looking at these shoes what I see is a lot of influence from other sports/shoe designs and in many ways I don’t like the implementation. I love cupsole shoes and I think the tech can be done right but I think it’s hard for companies because those shoes cost more to make and they don’t sell as well. ✌🏼
I had the original Kastel Chop Top and that was a great shoe to skate. Learned to 3 flip in them. The Chany was a cool design too. Maybe your style is just dull as dishwater.
Hey I just talked to my old roommate and friend Alphonso Rawls who designed the Chop Top and he said to tell you that the shoes are ugly…..and he designed them. I found his message funny so I thought I’d relay it to you.
Pretty on point. I randomly saw Ron Whaley in Gainesville, FL the end of 95 and he was skating those mid 90’s adidas

I think the the DC Cypher and Kastel shoes are pretty decent shoes. The Cyphers are actually dope af.
