I got inspired by watching your videos, how to repair bats, And I did it myself and after the completion I felt very proud of myself. So thanks for inspiring!!!!
Love watching these videos - with the music and the time-lapse and especially the craftwork, they are almost meditative. And given I can barely hammer a nail straight, neat to watch a skilled wood-worker. Thanks
Fantastic content. Oddly really therapeutic. One question - How does the bat weigh up before and after the refurbishment? Is there a significant loss (due to chipping/scrubbing off wood) or addition (due to adhesives and tapes, etc)?
It's looking good enough from outside.but I doubt it's capacity to be intact for a longer period ?? Better to buy a new one instead of attaching pieces and covering them...totally a nice video:)
thanks for posting the video. Two Questions. 1. I saw you used two part Epoxy to bond the spitted toe. Wont the Epoxy become Hard/Brittle after drying up and with the ball impact / abuse the bat is likely to have in the cricket field will bring Cracks in the Epoxy Joint inside?? just like Glass Cracks when we try to flex it ? 2. Purpose of the dowels across the blade is well understood. do you have any experience of these dowels causing vertical breakage due to less long grain support at specific areas of the bat.. imagine a fast ball hitting the toe of the bat and the bats man trying to hit hard, what pressure will the reduced long grains experience near the handle of the bat. this area is thinner than rest of the bat and we have much less number of connected long grains as a result of drilling the dowel space. what is your experience on this. have you received complaints from your customers ??
The dowls provide extra lateral support, Think of them like ribs of the human body. Where the bat was split it lost strength, so by glueing back into place, the dowls provide extra insurance that the splits don’t reform.
Amazing... great work.... I got my favorite bat destroyed and I tried to repair the same but failed... It's still with me unrepaired... Can u repair the same for me?
I know that its up to customers choice... But what I asked was your opinion about it... Weather installing a toe guard will increase durability of a repaired bat or not?
This is my teammate's bat. He used it in league game couple of weeks back and the bat performance was really good. He did hit a couple of sixes and the sound from the willow seem to be really good.

Your videos are gr8 and we learn alot from wtahcing them. One suggestion though is to have text which informs viewers stuff like what kind of willow the bat is, What strength of sand paper you are using, what is it that you use to fill in the cracks, whats the curing time etc. so that we learn and understand more on how we too can repair bats. I feel it will help all of us.
to 'nail' the bat together sideays. as you can see at the start its starting to split along the length of the bat, this pretty much holds it together and stops it from splitting again, well atleast for now
its probs not going to be as strong as a new but but those cricks would be pretty shallow the rest are held/filled with epoxy, that plus the dowels stopping them splitting length ways and the fibre glass tape on the face will hold it together pretty well. also you might has notices when he was hitting the dowel in that glue squirted out of the bottom, that was pretty much the dowel forcing glue into what ever little gaps were left in the bat
Leave your questions here to be answered in the next video. If you like someone else's question make sure you give it a thumbs up. Cheers Team

What's the purpose of the small sticks inserted at different heights perpendicular to the bat after drilling the hole ?
What does that do ?
They will fill the holes that he just drilled.
