You prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid lost the account password. I would love any help you can offer me.
i too have same bar with in mumbai never sure if repair bat survive a match but i m keep hopding to it my first club cricket bat great video by the way just love watching cricket bat
Nice work mate. I would probably address and access the break in the blade before replacing the handle. I have fixed few bats so far and found the polyurethane glue to work the best. Keep up the good work.
So many comments from people who obviously are not woodworkers - Type III PVA (waterproof wood Glue) will be stronger than the original wood. It is also flexible and will bend and twist with the surrounding medium, in this case, the bat. Epoxy style adhesives, although arguably stronger, will not be as flexible and will therefore crack if subjected to strong forces.
Superb workmanship!!! Emagin the amount of broken grade A willow bats that could be recycled for children in third world countries it would bring a lot of smiles around the world
Hi josh, hope you are alright and safe. If possible, it would be great to have some long repair and bat videos during this lockdown stage. Best wishes for you and your family. Love from India. Regards
Can you please assist or provide details on how to create the jig to cut the bat handle out on the band saw? I'd be highly indebted to you if you. Thank you!
Sheesh, everyone is an expert. I think using the old broken pieces is more fitting to retain the look of the bat. I have no experience with repairing bats, but I have 28 years of carpentry skills. Wood glue is stronger than you would think, stronger than the wood if used properly. OK there are no massive wood working skills used, but there is no need for them. Its good honest wood work that could be attempted by anyone who is capable with tools.
A small time bat repairer will charge $150 and I’m sure JPG charges may be double of that which amounts to $7500 from a small time repairer. Pay that to an Indian and he/she will put their blood and sweat into it.
wouldn't it be stronger if you were to cut off the square piece and replace it with a block of new wood? I don't know, just asking out of curiosity since the last piece looked smashed into many piece which were glued back together.. is this a fair question?
As a wood worker I appreciate the work you put into giving this bag a second life. Nice job. I still have a bad from when I was s child it’s going on 30 years old now.
Broooo awesome work on the jig to cut the bat handle. Do you have the plans available to build the jig ? I am ready to pay for it. Please let me know. I am from USA
some people are complaining that it will break again yea its true but against hard ball not against tape ball 😉 P.S give the guy credit for putting so much effort and seriously he has done an amazing job
Good work but will this bat last? Because the main repairing u did is with glue and that too with at least 4 small parts on bottom now that's the only problem and thats the major problem, i have seen a lot of bat repairs in which they replace the whole piece and thats looks more reliable than this, now whoever plays with this bat will be always worried as this bat solely depends on glue, anyways good video and i could be wrong and i hope i m wrong.
The skill for the repair is appreciated, however I am very sceptical about the way the repaired pieces will behave when a cricket ball hits them directly. I think it would have been better to replace a section of the damaged portion. Anyway best of luck
That is one of the tricks played by the manufacturers.they fit a handle seperately although they know they can make a whole bat in one piece.but they put a handle so that it could break and people will buy another bat.
@@bee-buscwakoti6907 in most cases i saw handle got broken and u r forced to buy a new bat.you can make a bat with a built in handle its not that tough.but they play smart with us.
This is true, sometimes it's not worth it either because it wasn't done particularly well or there are things the repairer simply can't see. They should offer a warranty (mine is 3 months) that you can use to put towards a new bat.
Fantail cricket repaired a similar kind of broken bat.. You must watch that.. Anyway a great job.. Though the bat will not last very long.. Still... A good job by you... Waiting for more videos
I’m looking and thinking, mate come on.... there’s other ways to it .. wind blows the wrong direction and that bat will fall apart mid game. Still it’s a satisfying video to watch
Amazing work dude. Much respect, isn’t an easy job for sure, from what it looks like. But I’ve seen some dudes replace the broken chunk with block of new wood and work it out. Is it much of a long term / short term issue? @jpgavanceicket
Repairing is nice but bat is not able to paly with leather ball ... Bcoz bat bottom is not able to take face pressure of 130 km speed ball ... So paly with Tanis ball 🎾

What a beautiful work very very fantastic work
hard work + passion= anything is possible 👍 great job mate
Very nice bro you are good and good luck your next videos
Awesome work mate
Nice work mate. Hopefully the Aussie top order have got your number, as they're going to need your services in the up and coming Ashes series.
Yeah, he has some good quality sand paper.
Nice video. You know your trade well. Just a query grinding the surface and back won't make the bat lighter by weight?
It removes about half an ounce.
@@JPGavanCricket Fair enough. Please upload a NET session with the bat if possible.
Sorry the bat doesn't belong to me
Man you are a dream of a cricketer.
Awesome work with full of passion and dedication. Do you operate in India coz there would be lot of people who would like to utilise your services

right
It's not easy ...
I like you jannat
Very superbly worked 👍👍👍👏👏👏
Amazing craftsmanship but you should bandage the bottom half for the extra cushion since glued pieces would never be as sturdy as a whole wooden piece
Yep, did that after the video. Just doesn't look as neat.
Mr. Gavan do you approve of thread bindings in repairs like these?
Very hard work bro but good job
The skill for the repair is appreciated, however I am very sceptical about the way the repaired pieces will behave when a cricket ball hits them directly.

Nice work dude keep it on
Toe of the bat will definitely come to you again
Very Nice working 👍👍
Can you not fit a new willow piece instead of old
Great job buddy .. next time please include ping test by ball after the repair is completed
Very nice reparing of bat

Haha you do know the purpose of making handle separately right !

Nice repair
Nice work sir
*Love your video from japan*
Good Job Man
Nicely done good job bro
Lovely work
Hatts of for your hard work🙌🙌🙏🙏🙏
Bloody hell there some work in it, great job.
Had a bat rehandled once and the next game the wood through the back split; handle was fine! Not convinced that repairing a bat is always worth it.

100% dedication towards work
Good job ,best work
Love your video from Bangladesh
,6,8 handle lenght and surface
Very nice video
Amazing job bro
Good work sir... 👍
A mate of mine dose this. Also makes his own bats. His bats are amazing. Great skills and craftsmanship.👍👍🍻🍻🇦🇺🇦🇺
I think broken pieces can be removed and replaced by new single wooden piece..
U are right yeah...
Nope it will break again...
Yes, grafting a new piece is certainly an option but when I've got prices that fit together I find it a bit more durable.
certainly not
Yes you hit the bull's eye
Good work but 1 risk bat corner not run long but well done
Hey there, what’s the name of the glue you use? Thanks
Fantail cricket repaired a similar kind of broken bat.. You must watch that.. Anyway a great job.. Though the bat will not last very long.. Still... A good job by you... Waiting for more videos
How do you know? Are you a bat expert?
I’m looking and thinking, mate come on.... there’s other ways to it .. wind blows the wrong direction and that bat will fall apart mid game. Still it’s a satisfying video to watch
Look forward to watching your repair!
Nice work!!!
How do you determine whether you use PVA or superglue at different stages of the repair?
Ben Wood basically it depends on access to the crack. If I need to get glue deep into a thin crack superglue finds its way in.
What is the name of sellotape used finally for down side bat???
Real good job bro
Priceless
Amazing work dude. Much respect, isn’t an easy job for sure, from what it looks like. But I’ve seen some dudes replace the broken chunk with block of new wood and work it out. Is it much of a long term / short term issue? @jpgavanceicket
How much you will take for repairing a cricket bat ?
Good work
at the end .. hit a few balls with the same bat.. and make us hear the sound of ball hitting the sweat part of the bat 👍
nice
I highly doubt that the repaired area will take further blows from even a medium pacer.
Hey you r repairing the bat which broke from edge can u repair a bat which was broke from handle
Repairing is nice but bat is not able to paly with leather ball ...
Bcoz bat bottom is not able to take face pressure of 130 km speed ball ...
So paly with Tanis ball 🎾
Can you put a link to your UA-cam videos please so I can judge your work? You are obviously an expert.
Superb bro
