How do you get hold of small bits of willow. Am fixing a bat for a ten year old who hit a ball on the toe of the bat in his first ever game and a piece came off the corner. It’s his dads old bat do I want to fix it for him.it’s 3 inches x 2 inches.

Is the toe guard epoxy resin? I've seen some bat makers swear that epoxy will crack and cause your whole bat to split - which seems like scaremongering. My friends used to use araldite on bat toes in the early 2000s and no one ever had a problem. Would be interested to know your thoughts.
