This track... especially with the sunset going on... it has a similar emotional impact to Xion's death scene, and I mean that comparison as a compliment because that was the first cutscene in a video game to ever make me physically cry.
OH MY GOSH NO YOU'RE MAKING ME CRY... when you mentioned the sunset I immediately thought of the sea salt trio, then you said Xion and my heart broke.... her death scene was terrible. I mean, it was written amazingly, I just was so sad, I didn't want her to leave. I don't think her death scene made me cry the first time, I was young and stupid and din't really understand what was going on, but once I finished the series and watched it again, I bawled.
Damn, the second time I watched the ending, I was freaking crying my eyes out, knowing that US!Paps and US!Chara will suffer in their dying world and eventually... die. They did bite the dust, after all. May they both rest in peace.

I remember a few years ago I found this song…… I don’t remember all of what was going on, but I remember I was writing a story or two. And I remember just lying in my bed and crying and crying…… I love the key, I love the instrumentation, I love the swells, I love the song……… But now years later, I’m only left with a faint memory of what happened… the smallest flicker of a candle… a reminder that there was something……… but I don’t remember what. I feel like I’ve lost whatever me was around back then, but yet I still know that me is still with me. This song has been long buried in my memories… yet it’s influenced so many of my best compositions from my conscious and later my subconscious. It just feels so surreal coming back here… and watching the old memories slowly warm back to life like gently blowing on embers of a campfire. I think I was writing a story about an enchanted forest but the protagonist was left there to die… but I feel like I also listened to this for some poetry too. Puzzling… saddening… It’s been a while. I guess you can say that Papyrus knew that the world will get erased because of Chara's unstable determination. Due to XEvent!Chara extreme overwritting, the timeline is messed up and will collapse. I predict that Cross will return in 0.4 because UnderSwap gets erased, meaning XEvent!Chara will lose their determination soul and will use their last moments to hunt for a monster soul (most likely Outertale!Papyrus, that gives a reason for OuterTale!Sans to fight).
The most emotional soundtrack in Underverse...i'm sad and emotional. Reality of a Life where Sans (Underswap ver.) had to leave Chara & his Brother on the order of his brother to joining InkSans and his friend to save the world.
