For those who are confused on this episode, I THINK, that as XGaster tried to transport Cross back into the main timeline, Fatal did a thing and "modified the exit portal", causing them to be sent into an "unknown timeline" that Fatal was in. Fatal ended up touching XGaster, reading his code. Fatal recognized that Cross' code was connected to XGaster, and would try and attack XGaster THROUGH Cross' code. XGaster ended up finally attacking back, by slicing through Cross, nearly killing Cross and slicing an arm off of Fatal. XGaster then overwrote Cross and Ink back into the main timeline. Correct me if I'm wrong about any of this. Referring to the timelines and worlds- Error destroyed the Multiverse. The only places left are alternative timelines and branches of the main timeline, including the Omega timeline. The alternate timelines and branches are now detaching from the main timeline, also meaning that nothing will be able to enter or exit the main timeline, including people who can hop between dimensions.
Honestly I thought I saw Fatal get Gojo'd so I originally assumed that Gaster was in cahoots with Fatal, but now that I noticed only Fatal's arm was cut, maybe that theory was a bit too wack.
You seems to be right about all this. (Althrough idk why Ink cant leave earlier but can when XGaster sliced Fatal Error. Either way or XGaster helped Ink escaped when fight ends or its just defeated Fatal Error stop casting portal-denying glitches)
@@Xeno-pe-knees honestly, I don't think it affected him in the slightest due to not being the target besides all the rambling he annoyed XGaster with, which either wasn't enough of a reason for him to straight up kill, but led him to decide to disrespect leh man anyways

I love how in the original Fatal comic, he ripped off Error's arm and Error screamed in pain and was for the first time scared of death. Here Fatal's arm gets cut off by XGaster in a way to cut his access, but Fatal didn't feel fear, just progress. He knows that XGaster can't keep everything under control and a corrupted file like Fatal can't be deleted or killed easily like Swap and Fell were, just another loose end that will leave untied to come back to bite him.
i'll not be surprised if the next time we see fatal its gonna be him humiliating X!gaster , maybe not humiliating, but giving lots of problems for x!gaster at least.
Beautifully explained. A cowardly move to save himself from being deleted. He couldn't do anything in the fight as the Gaster said, his visions were in danger. Anomalies are unpredictable and he fears exactly this. He doesn't know what Fatal can do. And this anomaly also cannot be deleted or modified in any way so his Overwrite powers are useless against him. The only thing that may possibly protect XGaster from Fatal is the timelines now branching off the main timeline. But who knows? Unexpectedly, Fatal might come back right at the end and finish what he started. He read XGaster's code after all.
Omfg my dumb ass was in such disbelief that XGaster killed fell and swap completely flew over my head "surely they wouldn't kill off 2 of the main characters right?" I thought like a fool
The fact this series is still going on is amazing. The introduction for Fatal Error felt so unexpected, which made it even more CRAZIER. The way he speaks felt so off and odd adding onto how broken and messed up he is. This is amazing work, Jakei. Thank you
Jakei really is carrying the entire Undertale Multiverse fandom on her shoulders. Honestly, your perseverence with this project is insane. Many would've given up far sooner, and it would be fair and understandable, but you have dedicated YEARS of your life to this, to this one niche fandom, done something so amazing for something with so much controversy towards it. Thank you for doing this for all the fans and creators out here. Your work is outstanding and undeserved by the world. I wanted to point out two specific details I loved: a) when Geno is talking about his altrnate selves, the style that he takes on is a beautiful mimcry of the artstyle of Crayon Queen when creating the Aftertale comic, it's absolutely lovely. b) in that same scene, we see a few flickers of Error, with his glasses on to boot, overlapping Geno, alluding to how one version of Geno became Error, his glasses being proof of that as they were a gift from alphys for his bad eyes in the Aftertale timeline. (For those who don't know their stories, here's a brief summary: Geno, or Aftertale sans, is a sans from a genocide timeline who before getting killed in the judgement hall, had injected some determination extracted from the soul experiments on himself, giving him enough determination to escape to the save screen, where he would become glitched due to the timeline restarting and a new Sans being created in place of him. He would then plan from the save screen to find a way to get sans to destroy their timeline so no more genocides could be possible, but would ultimately fail whene Sans brings Papyrus into the savescreen and the two are able to convince Geno to let Frisk, who had been imprisoned by him, go and fix things by getting a pacifist timeline. Frisk suceeds, and Geno leaves the save screen at the end, saved from dying by eating the pie, restoring his health, though not leaving him without his scars. This is the good ending. The bad ending picks up after this, where on the surface, Geno continues to mess around with his soul and determination, despite Sans warning him not to, and too much tampering eventually leads to Geno glitching himself out of Aftertale and into the Anti-void. Now imprisoned and isolated there, the nature of the domain slowly drives him insane, further glitching him out and changing him once more. In Geno's last moments of lucidity, he's furious at his outcome and furious that this happened to him, that other versions of him got their happy endings, and this feeling shapes the drive of who is born from Geno, Error, who habing lost all memories of who he was at one point, translates this feeling into a hatred for the multiverse and a determination to eradicate it, leaving only the original. I wouldn't agree with that, many people still continue doing projects about diffrent alternative universes, so i wouldn't say HE carries the fandom, cuz he's not doing it.

Underverse however, is arguably the most impressive, due to the sheer dedication and effort. That’s neither here nor there though; the point isn’t to compare one persons projects to another’s, simply just to praise the amazing work we’re seeing. And as far as I’m aware, Jael is a girl, and uses she/her pronouns. Just look at her video about people misspelling her name. If this has changed can you cite me to where it says that, cause otherwise I’m going to stick to what I know.
I don't think people actually realise how impressive it is that this series exist. The fact that it's all created by ONE PERSON? Most of the shows are always being made with hundreds of people working on those, and yet, Jael managed to create this all on their own (plus Nyx with the soundtracks ofc). Not to mention, that they not only created the plot and the animation, but they also have extremely good knowledge about all of the au's and Undertale Community.

This entire episode feelsl ike a love letter to Aftertale and Fatal Error's webcomics, and it's amazing. It's so faithful to the original characters. The way Fatal talks, the style change when Geno mentions being trapped in the SAVE screen. God. That was incredible.
@@AL-lh2ht He's another version of Geno, who is supposed to literally be unkillable while in the save screen. However, Error found him, and tried to put that to the test, and just ended up making Geno an even more broken mess of code who's entire existence is wrong and broken
@@AL-lh2ht Been a while since I read the comic, but: Error (which is also Geno having gone mad in the SAVE screen) kills Geno, but Geno also can't die in there so he becomes Fatal instead because it's a complete paradox. Fatal is completely psychotic, and pretty much obsessed with Papyrus. As seen here he sees people as code, and he has the ability to "Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V" so he quite literally kidnaps people by copying them, then pasting the copy back in his little anti-void (which is a bit different to the one shown here) to then literally sew their code with a bone to try and make his own Papyrus (only result we got to see was a hella glitchy UT sans).
I've waited for Fatal Error to come to Underverse for years, and I'm happy to say, it was DEFINITELY worth the wait. Underverse has an amazing and complex story, and even more insane animation, ESPECIALLY when you consider it was done by a single person. Underverse is one of my favorite UA-cam series, and definitely my favorite Undertale series. I can't wait for Part 0.8. I'm sure it will be very, very interesting...
You would not believe my surprise when I saw how Geno and Fatal Error ended up being seperate entities. I was amazed, and completely astounded, with how well made Fatal Error was, and the explaination of why Geno lived in an Original Timeline of Undertale. Well done, Jakei. There's hardly anyone with this much creativity and talent. Thank you for this episode.
@@TemporaryViewerHandle I mean, it's pretty much guaranteed for them to be 2 entities. As Fatal!Error's timeline is separate from Altertale's timeline as a whole. 2 existing timelines with the same types of characters with 1 having a new change guarantees a timeline separation between both timelines. So Geno and Fatal!Error aren't the same person they are right now. Geno is the original, Fatal is the change.
@@t1mingisnecessary Both are changes. Aftertale is a deviation of undertale where sans has determination and lives on the save screen after a genocide route. Fatal error deviated from a timeline where error attacks geno.

I really love the small details like XGaster's hand going down after Gaster snatches his glass, Cross looking at his side to find out his blade was replicated by Fatal Error and all that buzz. Combined with that amazing artstyle and smooth & engaging animation, I think you're the best Undertale animator around right now!
I just love this voice/sound used for Fatal Error Sans. He is so different from everyone else that it immediately attracts attention to him. It also might shows how competent and subtle the author’s work was.
This episode really showed how XGaster is afraid of Fatal and we know why. I can’t wait for how large the scale of the final will be in the future! The animation was mind-blowing btw!
I mean, yeah. Fatal is kinda immortal and can copy stuff, haven't seen him copy anything too large. The most was copy like a bunch of different sans versions (including cross from when he entered underswap in 0.3)
I don't think X-Gaster was afraid of Fatal Error since he considered Fatal Error a temporary obstacle. 14:35 Also it's crazy X-Gaster can harm (can chop off Fatal Error) Fatal Error with just his hands which makes you wonder if he could potentially hurt Error Sans.
Not me now realizing Cross was moving his eyes to tell Geno that someone was there and the others needed to go away. That's a great way of showing that omg

The whole interaction with Cross and Ink this episode felt so so realistic for me, especially 6:53 - 7:22 . Just 2 friends who messed up because of someone else's problem and trying to reconnect
I just realized how Ink and XGaster's characters are so similar and different at the same time. First of all, let's remember the beginning of the story: while XGaster has a soul, Ink doesn't, and while Ink wanted a soul to feel real emotions, XGaster wanted to destroy his soul. Furthermore, both characters have their own flaws, like XGaster with his perfectionism and Ink with his selfishness. These factors would explain why they do so well. Not to mention that both have the power of creation. Continuing, I also noticed how the unfolding of these characters' personal journeys is quite interesting. While XGaster hasn't had much contact with others, Ink is the complete opposite, we see this in his redemption arc when Fresh explains that his plan wouldn't work, and that everything Ink has done so far is nothing more than a failure. See, while Ink accepted that his ambitions were wrong and had to change, XGaster is currently still buying into the lies of future perfects and such. This reveals the evolution of Ink's character. Of course, we don't know what will happen to XGaster in 0.8, but for now, we can say that XGaster could be the same as in episode XTale 1. I think the message that Jakei wanted to give us with these characters is that when we are with people who support and correct us, we can face and overcome challenges more easily, and that counting on others is not weakness, but courage. Lastly, I would just like to appreciate the work that Jakei did with the entire story she created for Underverse, not only was she thoughtful with her own characters, but she was thoughtful with other people's characters as well. Her work is very competent and incredible, certainly very inspiring! Can't wait for 0.8
I absolutely LOVE how well you captured CrayonQueen's style of comics for Aftertale. The way it switches when Geno is talking to XGaster is beautiful, and all the expressions on Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys, and Toriel make them seem like you just brought the original comic to life with animation. 2:36 is the best example because I remember Undyne making that face SO MANY TIMES in the original comic. (It's also such a good way to subtly distinguish this Original Universe timeline from the main one we know)
wooo i was just about to say the same thing! All the characters from Aftertale feel like they stepped out of the comic panels themselves, I especially love it at 6:30 where Sans and Geno exchange awkward looks cuz they’re so reminiscent of the source material
This series just keeps getting more and more insane. The conversation between Xgaster and OG Gaster. Then the amazing fight between Cross, Ink and Fatal Error. So many twists and turns, it’s gonna be interesting how this all ends
@@Pers0nCalled_J I don't think so. If you look closely, FATAL!ERROR is the biggest threat to XGaster. He fought Cross because he knew that if he killed Cross, he could damage XGaster. FATAL is probably already plotting stuff now that classic Gaster May be dead.
While everyone is complimenting the animation, I gotta say I absolutely LOVED the sound design of this one! Especially when X!Gaster slices through Cross, Geno, and UT!Gaster, the sound resonated in my ears and was incredibly satisfying! On top of this everything about Fatal Error's design, animation, and sound effects was just invigorating to experience! (The voice speech effect for Fatal was particularly great to hear) Credits to you, Nyx, and cyanwaves for such an amazing piece of art!
I swear the UT community has been on your back like Atlas holding up the world for quite some time now. Bravo, you've achieved the dream every creator wishes they could have and still continue to deliver without feeling blinded by what it has brought. You're like a one in a ten million type of person. Holy crap I only just noticed that when Geno says "There are many ways to break free" 8:16 there's a frame flash of Error with his red circle glasses. From what I remember I think Error is a variant of Geno which makes this absolutely amazing as it leads straight into Fatal Error too. An insane amount of detail as always, super impressive.
Error was a Geno that escaped the Save Screen and made it into the Anti-Void. After spending a long time in the Anti-Void Geno eventually transformed into Error.
One thing I really liked about the episode is the little detail that Jakei put at 8:11 with how she colored Geno. It immeadilty caught my eye as it feels like a reference to the artstyle of the original aftertale comics. Its such a small detail, yet its one of the many things that make this episode great.
I am in loved with Undertale and every animation/fan art about Undertale, including this. Even if the community is slowly dying, there is some people somehow keeping this game alive, and Jael, if you are seeing this, i am proud of you.
I don’t understand why everybody thinks the undertale community is dying, i mean, it is ‘t at its prime anymore and that’s just normal, but i see more and more undertale related content these days, people are still loving undertale and there is still a lot of people in the community.. and i don’t forget the release of deltarune chapter 3 either, undertale is all but dead

Jakei was only one who was able to make underverse movies to be that good, seeing him getting hates and making him to cancel underverse hurts my soul so badly, i know he needs rest and time to recover from all pain that haters brought to him, but he deserves rest and break, i hope he continues making underverse, he sure did inspire alot of people and brought joy and happiness in their life, the way he beightened everyones days is so beautiful sight We love jakei and he will always be saviour of undertale and toby fox We love jakei so much and want everything best for him

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS DEPICTION OF FATAL ERROR!!! I love how the framing of some of his shots mimic the composition in Xedramon’s comics. The dialogue was impeccable- I loved the slow sinking realization that Cross and Ink had as they realized exactly who Fatal was and what he wanted of Cross

Like omg A Fatal_Error Has Occured was so cool to read and the way Fatal is animated here and ESPECIALLY HIS TEXT NOISE like omg it sounds so broken and fitting!! Also his line of “none of them will save you from me” while looking directly at presumably X!Gaster is so badass for such a simple line
I absolutely adore how well you translated Fatal Error into this, his messed up speech style, his powers, you even went and took the step of making him just as glitchy and broken visually as his comics! I'm looking forward to if he comes back in a later part!
there is a lot more competition tho, its 100%best undertake animation but dont know if its best on UA-cam because of murder drones and digital circus being things now. Also helluva boss has been there for a while dunno if underverse is there YET. Red vs black could be honourable mention tbh

I just discovered this series a couple days ago, and I've already binge-watched it all. Not only that, but I've researched the AUs of these characters as much as I could! I've read any comic I can find, watched summaries, animations, anything I can get my hands on! I love complicated stories where everything connects, I love stories of multi-versal travel. I can't believe it took me so long to discover the world of Undertale AUs! This series has been like the Infinity War of UT AUs, and I have a feeling this second season is going to be it's Endgame :) So excited to see where this goes next, even though I'm way late to the party, like usual!
I'm not sure what's more impressive, the fact that this series is still going strong after all these years, or that you somehow managed to NOT ONLY animate Fatal Error, BUT MAKE A WHOPPING 3 MINUTE LONG SMOOTH AF FIGHT WITH HIM. I know people are saying this left and right in the comments, but it's honestly hard to imagine how much work and detail went into actually animating this. Glitches are some of the hardest and most time consuming things to animate, and yet you pulled it off BEAUTIFULLY. If anyone thinks of complaining about the episode being "only" ~16 mins long (excluding intro/outro), go rewatch that Fatal Error fight again, untill you change your mind. I personally find it hella impressive you've managed to release this only 10 months after the previous episode. Congrats on 1 million subs by the way Jakei. Absolutely well deserved. The series definitely needs more recognition, not only by Undertale fans, but other people as well. Sure, if you want to understand the story well, you need to have knowledge about all of Undertale routes and even more about the whole AU rabbit hole, but i think even your average Joe with close to no Undertale knowledge would enjoy watching this because of how well the story itself is written.
Somehow, of all the amazingly designed and menacing characters in this series, Original Gaster is still the most terrifying creature to come out of Undertale
Yeah, it's impresive, it's like he's truly beyond time and space, a superior entity that cannot be destroyed even by his alternative versions, he seems to be beyond all, only a watcher, a spectator
Ikr, even though he's only been in like 2 scenes, he left such an impact after telling X!Gaster off and then this amazing scene while cross and ink fight Fatal. Also I love how he doesn't even care after being sliced in half by X!Gaster, just squints his eyes and continues smiling(probably bc he still knows X!Gaster is doomed to failure). Also gotta love how X!Gaster doesn't even try overwriting him or doing ANYTHING really, he probably can't.
6:22 honestly, cross’s anger here is just very chilling. You can just feel the emotion without any audible expression, by the small details in the art, like him seemingly clenching his teeth by making the lines more jagged at the right side edge, and also the sadness & anger that occurs near the end, where the lines near his eyeholes twitch a bit. It’s incredible this got done in less than a year. Amazing job!

The appearence of the OG Gaster surprised me, he has an incredible presence, even superior to XGaster. He looks like a god who knows everything, the only one who is beyond time and space, beyond reset and overwrite, only appearing to "laugh" at the most dangerous being in the multiverse. It's amazing.
I assume he is fine since he doesn't really have a normal body, since there was no blood or anything. His expression kind of gives that message too after being cut kn half
I am in absolute awe at this entire thing. The story, the animation, the colours, the music, the expressions. Watching all of this and how it is progressing is a delight. You are doing an amazing job! Keep it up, remember to take breaks, and take pride in your work. You deserve all of the praise.
It is beyond me how you're able to come up with such a complicated story and animate it so well with such incredible attention to detail all on your own...
I'm happy that even after all these years this series is still going! you can see how much time and work was put into it, the animation itself, OST, and the effects are great! I'm glad that I bump on this series 6 years ago, one of the best things that happend in my life!
These past 6 - 7 years worth of the Underverse series have been amazing. I saw this series back when 0.4 was recently released, and you can easily tell just how much better the animations get each and every part of the story. I hope to see more of this awesome work in the far future!!
Not sure if its just me, but for some reason Gaster's behavior in this episode reminds me a lot of how Gaster is in A Fatal Error Has Occurred, with him subtly pushing XGaster in a direction to where his plans will succeed, even if it means admitting an uncomfortable truth. In the comic, Fatal eventually accepts Gaster’s guidance and does as he instructs, and his plan (partially) succeess once he does so. XGaster on the other hand, refuses to listen to our Gaster, rejecting the idea that he might not be prepared for whatever plan hes trying to put into place. Some really fantastic characterization going on here, good on you Jakei!
7 years waiting for Geno's arrival, the work you do animating and giving a gem of a chapter is really worth the wait, Fatal's appearance is simply wow, his fight showed that he is someone very strong and that he is a threat to Xgaster, my two favorite characters in one chapter, I can't ask for anything more 🤧. I'm very curious about how all this is going to end, we just have to wait and see what will happen later, I love your work Jakei, good luck 🦄💕
Banger episode. I’m surprisingly more interested in how Geno and Sans (from Geno’s timeline) are going to play into the story, whether it’s a little or a lot. Especially after that end credits scene. Really great effort Jael!!! Edit: Also seeing Fatal in an animation as high quality as this makes my soul happy
For real I'm really happy that Geno got a treatment what he deserved by living in the UT Timeline like he had a family to be with and even UT Papyrus to comfort him and being a Separate Entity with Fatal_Error is just a Mindblowing that Geno mentions to X-Gaster that his Alternative self will deal with Him
rewatching this, gotta say how much i love fatal there's just so much detail put into him like when he grabs cross' sword, it says the word COPY 13:36 at the beginning of the fight, he talks about how much talk there's been about xgaster which could show that he's been watching silently throughout everything that's happened and knows about "their kind" for staying silent and refusing to act, letting his "worthless creations" take all the damage until the threat of fatal being able to actually damage xgaster thru his code which leads to the end of the fight. fatal is a literal powerhouse, taking the loss of an arm like nothing and with strings that hurt a ton compared to error's that just controls others. fatal wants to use xgaster's code for himself, saying that his code is calling for him and none of his creations will save him. i think this will lead to fatal being the one to fight xgaster and take him down OR be the one to collect his code when xgaster does eventually get defeated. kinda sad to see cross getting caught in the crossfire (eyyy) but could it mean that later on, when fatal does eventually meet xgaster in the omega timeline or somewhere else for their "final battle," will cross get killed cause of it? xgaster is the type of guy to send his minions first and to play it safe after all. so many questions, cant wait for the next one!
me siento viejo, llevo viendo underverse desde el capitulo 0.3 y pensar que sigo aquí desde hace años me da mucho orgullo y nostalgia. el tiempo de espera siempre vale la pena, y es asombroso lo bien que esta animado fatal error. admiro demasiado el trabajo y ojala tenga las vistas y likes que se merece.
También ví los primeros capítulos hace mucho .... Recuerdo que tenía problemas para entender porque en ese entonces estaba solo en inglés Y Undertale sigue siendo especial para mí a pesar de los años
The animation is AMAZING! The animating of Fatal seemed more than a well done - it must be huge pain to animate him. And the conversation between X!Gaster and Original Gaster seemed very interesting, there’s a lot of potential in the relationship of them two! We also see how powerful Fatal is in the battle - the damage he is able to do is huge, and the sheer craziness from his attacks and words, he is literally threatening to take X!Gaster’s soul through Cross behest getting sliced into half - he remains undead, so we don’t know if he’s gonna come back later to try and take the codes of X!Gaster again!
Seriously just when I think the animation in these can't get any better. It's incredible looking back at the old epiosodes and seeing how far everything has come
Maybe Jakei will go back and reanimate some of the earlier episodes of Season 1 so they are on par with the rest of the series. Just a thought though, wouldn't be mad if she doesn't.
@@zorlex9668 considering it takes her a year to animate a 20minute episode, I don't think that's going to happen, plus for me it's cooler to see how someone gets better with art overtime, it's an awesome timelapse
For years I've never really paid attention to credits but when i did i realized that this entire series was plotted and animationed by only Jakei, She's so hard working and i have extremely high respect for her that she can continue this series for so long on her own and Nyx for the music. also this really takes me back to the days of Undertale
These episodes never dissapoint, they always give me chills of how outstanding the animations are with the music and storyteling. JUST AMAZING, Im speechless.
You gotta commend Jael for even adding Fatal animating him. And his constant glitching. While he is one of my favorites, he Is probably really hard to animate, when done the right way. I also love how glitchy his voice and Text are. Barely able to be deciphered. And his strings They aren't just error like strings made from his blood, no their brutal and they hurt A LOT.
Yes. From Xtale Comic, to Underverse Season 1, to Xtale the Movie, then 21yrs Comic and now Underverse season 2.... It was nostalgia to go back from the comic. The hype that I felt back when I first start to read xtale and watch the first episode of the series... I still could feel it. ... But reality hit hard that 0.8 will be the last episode before jakei decides to take her well deserved rest.
God I never stop feeling grateful for the amount of effort Nyx and Jael put into this series. They could have used their talents for other more profitable projects but nope,they stay persistent on this community of a 8 years old game. Jael is so damn awesome I feel like I don't deserve her works.

I remember watching this series as a kid and not understanding shit but still enjoying everything, now here i am back into it. The amount of care and efforts put into this is just mindblowing, not only the visuals and ost are amazing but the story in itself made me tear up and cry more than once. It'll definitly be hard to say goodbye to this masterpiece once it ends, and i look forward to every future episode

im sure im not the first to say it, but the sound that fatal's dialogue makes is so good, along with the rest of the sounds associated with him. most glitch type characters have pretty generic sounds, but his truly feel unique.
The passion it takes to make a series like this is both inspiring and admirable. Every single one of us fans support you and all the others working on this amazing project. 11/10 work.

True, but I really meant in the fandom's POV to fanart, comics and fanfics. As people always make their own version to how they imagine a scenario could go. As they always take inspiration from the original creators work and make something new out of it. As if we think about it? There already exist another multiverse in the fandom. Like, Fell Ink, Dreamswap, etc and many more. And yes, it makes sense with you are saying if we are taking this as one multiverse. But a lot of stuff could happen in another. OH MYYYY THIS IS AMAZING, i havent been active with underverse after 2 years because i was slowly losing interest with undertale as ive grown, but honestly, looking back to this now, it makes me want to get back into creation TOT I love this!! its so impressive how you manage to create such a beautiful written series!
When geno said “there are many ways to break free.” A flash of error sans and fatal error appeared for a brief frame. Error sans, and fatal error are variants of geno. Error sans comes from a timeline where geno never changed, he stayed the same and had the goal to destroy the timeline where his friends were dying. Eventually geno isnt himself anymore, he is error sans now. Fatal error is different, he is a geno from another another timeline one where error sans was going to destroy geno but failed. It ended up only making geno a bug that cant be squashed and he turned into fatal error. Basically in the undertale AUs there are 3 geno sans running around, the one we met in this episode with another sans got his happy ending. The other geno got a bad ending and stayed in the menu screen becoming error sans and the other one was failed attempt to get destroyed by error and turned into fatal error (the one we see in this episode) NICE ATTENTION TO DETAIL

Hey Jakei ! I’m sorry for what you’re going through in your situation. You’ve created an AMAZING fanmade Undertale series,along with NyxTheShield. I cannot believe this series is about to end,it’s been a wild ride! ❤❤🔥🔥🔥
I can easily understand why fatal error crashed. I'll explain here a bit: Basically, fatal error was trying to connect on Cross. And he did. As soon as he did, he was trying to reach X-Gaster throught Cross. And by that, he needed to keep ink away and unfocused and unware of what to do. After he got his chance when he stringed Cross, he saw and messed with his codes just to know what to do to get in XGaster's connection (as you can see on the Fatal's vision that he was clearly viewing XGaster.) Then, with that chance, all he had to do is a very brutal fatal blow for an instant kill OR an extreme injure. But, as soon as he was close enough... XGaster cut the connection between Cross and himself, making fatal lose his arm in the attempt while also crashing. After XGaster teleported ink and cross to the main timeline, fatal error woke up. Knowing that this would "happen". But, he wouldn't be able to do anything as it's mostly impossible for now. So, all he currenctly can do is heal himself and try again. But, Here's question: How did fatal KNEW exactly what to do just in mere seconds? We knows he's a very fast learner, but... Wasen't it too fast? Maybe fatal was watching everything since the beggining? We won't know for now. But, my theory is that fatal was watching everything since the beggining, learning and trying to think of a solution to stop this madness for some reason. (We don't have those questions now, and ALL of that i wrote was a THEORY.)

For those who are confused on this episode, I THINK, that as XGaster tried to transport Cross back into the main timeline, Fatal did a thing and "modified the exit portal", causing them to be sent into an "unknown timeline" that Fatal was in. Fatal ended up touching XGaster, reading his code. Fatal recognized that Cross' code was connected to XGaster, and would try and attack XGaster THROUGH Cross' code. XGaster ended up finally attacking back, by slicing through Cross, nearly killing Cross and slicing an arm off of Fatal. XGaster then overwrote Cross and Ink back into the main timeline. Correct me if I'm wrong about any of this.
Referring to the timelines and worlds- Error destroyed the Multiverse. The only places left are alternative timelines and branches of the main timeline, including the Omega timeline. The alternate timelines and branches are now detaching from the main timeline, also meaning that nothing will be able to enter or exit the main timeline, including people who can hop between dimensions.
Honestly I thought I saw Fatal get Gojo'd so I originally assumed that Gaster was in cahoots with Fatal, but now that I noticed only Fatal's arm was cut, maybe that theory was a bit too wack.

I love how in the original Fatal comic, he ripped off Error's arm and Error screamed in pain and was for the first time scared of death. Here Fatal's arm gets cut off by XGaster in a way to cut his access, but Fatal didn't feel fear, just progress. He knows that XGaster can't keep everything under control and a corrupted file like Fatal can't be deleted or killed easily like Swap and Fell were, just another loose end that will leave untied to come back to bite him.
i'll not be surprised if the next time we see fatal its gonna be him humiliating X!gaster , maybe not humiliating, but giving lots of problems for x!gaster at least.
Beautifully explained. A cowardly move to save himself from being deleted. He couldn't do anything in the fight as the Gaster said, his visions were in danger. Anomalies are unpredictable and he fears exactly this. He doesn't know what Fatal can do. And this anomaly also cannot be deleted or modified in any way so his Overwrite powers are useless against him.
The only thing that may possibly protect XGaster from Fatal is the timelines now branching off the main timeline. But who knows? Unexpectedly, Fatal might come back right at the end and finish what he started. He read XGaster's code after all.
I also find it funny that he got his arm, after Fatal ripped his arm here 8:58 XGaster of course doesn't care, [overwrite] and boom it's fine

Jakei really is carrying the entire Undertale Multiverse fandom on her shoulders. Honestly, your perseverence with this project is insane. Many would've given up far sooner, and it would be fair and understandable, but you have dedicated YEARS of your life to this, to this one niche fandom, done something so amazing for something with so much controversy towards it. Thank you for doing this for all the fans and creators out here. Your work is outstanding and undeserved by the world.
I wanted to point out two specific details I loved: a) when Geno is talking about his altrnate selves, the style that he takes on is a beautiful mimcry of the artstyle of Crayon Queen when creating the Aftertale comic, it's absolutely lovely. b) in that same scene, we see a few flickers of Error, with his glasses on to boot, overlapping Geno, alluding to how one version of Geno became Error, his glasses being proof of that as they were a gift from alphys for his bad eyes in the Aftertale timeline.
(For those who don't know their stories, here's a brief summary: Geno, or Aftertale sans, is a sans from a genocide timeline who before getting killed in the judgement hall, had injected some determination extracted from the soul experiments on himself, giving him enough determination to escape to the save screen, where he would become glitched due to the timeline restarting and a new Sans being created in place of him. He would then plan from the save screen to find a way to get sans to destroy their timeline so no more genocides could be possible, but would ultimately fail whene Sans brings Papyrus into the savescreen and the two are able to convince Geno to let Frisk, who had been imprisoned by him, go and fix things by getting a pacifist timeline. Frisk suceeds, and Geno leaves the save screen at the end, saved from dying by eating the pie, restoring his health, though not leaving him without his scars. This is the good ending.
The bad ending picks up after this, where on the surface, Geno continues to mess around with his soul and determination, despite Sans warning him not to, and too much tampering eventually leads to Geno glitching himself out of Aftertale and into the Anti-void. Now imprisoned and isolated there, the nature of the domain slowly drives him insane, further glitching him out and changing him once more. In Geno's last moments of lucidity, he's furious at his outcome and furious that this happened to him, that other versions of him got their happy endings, and this feeling shapes the drive of who is born from Geno, Error, who habing lost all memories of who he was at one point, translates this feeling into a hatred for the multiverse and a determination to eradicate it, leaving only the original. I don't think people actually realise how impressive it is that this series exist. The fact that it's all created by ONE PERSON? Most of the shows are always being made with hundreds of people working on those, and yet, Jael managed to create this all on their own (plus Nyx with the soundtracks ofc). Not to mention, that they not only created the plot and the animation, but they also have extremely good knowledge about all of the au's and Undertale Community.

Error (which is also Geno having gone mad in the SAVE screen) kills Geno, but Geno also can't die in there so he becomes Fatal instead because it's a complete paradox.
Fatal is completely psychotic, and pretty much obsessed with Papyrus. As seen here he sees people as code, and he has the ability to "Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V" so he quite literally kidnaps people by copying them, then pasting the copy back in his little anti-void (which is a bit different to the one shown here) to then literally sew their code with a bone to try and make his own Papyrus (only result we got to see was a hella glitchy UT sans).
I've waited for Fatal Error to come to Underverse for years, and I'm happy to say, it was DEFINITELY worth the wait. Underverse has an amazing and complex story, and even more insane animation, ESPECIALLY when you consider it was done by a single person. Underverse is one of my favorite UA-cam series, and definitely my favorite Undertale series. I can't wait for Part 0.8. I'm sure it will be very, very interesting...
You would not believe my surprise when I saw how Geno and Fatal Error ended up being seperate entities. I was amazed, and completely astounded, with how well made Fatal Error was, and the explaination of why Geno lived in an Original Timeline of Undertale. Well done, Jakei. There's hardly anyone with this much creativity and talent. Thank you for this episode.

As Fatal!Error's timeline is separate from Altertale's timeline as a whole. 2 existing timelines with the same types of characters with 1 having a new change guarantees a timeline separation between both timelines. So Geno and Fatal!Error aren't the same person they are right now. Geno is the original, Fatal is the change.

I just realized how Ink and XGaster's characters are so similar and different at the same time.
First of all, let's remember the beginning of the story: while XGaster has a soul, Ink doesn't, and while Ink wanted a soul to feel real emotions, XGaster wanted to destroy his soul. Furthermore, both characters have their own flaws, like XGaster with his perfectionism and Ink with his selfishness. These factors would explain why they do so well. Not to mention that both have the power of creation.
Continuing, I also noticed how the unfolding of these characters' personal journeys is quite interesting. While XGaster hasn't had much contact with others, Ink is the complete opposite, we see this in his redemption arc when Fresh explains that his plan wouldn't work, and that everything Ink has done so far is nothing more than a failure. See, while Ink accepted that his ambitions were wrong and had to change, XGaster is currently still buying into the lies of future perfects and such. This reveals the evolution of Ink's character. Of course, we don't know what will happen to XGaster in 0.8, but for now, we can say that XGaster could be the same as in episode XTale 1.
I think the message that Jakei wanted to give us with these characters is that when we are with people who support and correct us, we can face and overcome challenges more easily, and that counting on others is not weakness, but courage.
Lastly, I would just like to appreciate the work that Jakei did with the entire story she created for Underverse, not only was she thoughtful with her own characters, but she was thoughtful with other people's characters as well. Her work is very competent and incredible, certainly very inspiring!

I absolutely LOVE how well you captured CrayonQueen's style of comics for Aftertale. The way it switches when Geno is talking to XGaster is beautiful, and all the expressions on Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys, and Toriel make them seem like you just brought the original comic to life with animation. 2:36 is the best example because I remember Undyne making that face SO MANY TIMES in the original comic. (It's also such a good way to subtly distinguish this Original Universe timeline from the main one we know)
wooo i was just about to say the same thing! All the characters from Aftertale feel like they stepped out of the comic panels themselves, I especially love it at 6:30 where Sans and Geno exchange awkward looks cuz they’re so reminiscent of the source material
Aftertale Is One of the most important AUs of all time next to Underswap and Underfell after all

This series just keeps getting more and more insane. The conversation between Xgaster and OG Gaster. Then the amazing fight between Cross, Ink and Fatal Error. So many twists and turns, it’s gonna be interesting how this all ends

@@Pers0nCalled_J I don't think so. If you look closely, FATAL!ERROR is the biggest threat to XGaster. He fought Cross because he knew that if he killed Cross, he could damage XGaster. FATAL is probably already plotting stuff now that classic Gaster May be dead.

While everyone is complimenting the animation, I gotta say I absolutely LOVED the sound design of this one! Especially when X!Gaster slices through Cross, Geno, and UT!Gaster, the sound resonated in my ears and was incredibly satisfying! On top of this everything about Fatal Error's design, animation, and sound effects was just invigorating to experience! (The voice speech effect for Fatal was particularly great to hear)

Holy crap I only just noticed that when Geno says "There are many ways to break free" 8:16 there's a frame flash of Error with his red circle glasses. From what I remember I think Error is a variant of Geno which makes this absolutely amazing as it leads straight into Fatal Error too. An insane amount of detail as always, super impressive.
Error was a Geno that escaped the Save Screen and made it into the Anti-Void. After spending a long time in the Anti-Void Geno eventually transformed into Error.
the error sans with glasses is probably another error variation that exist in different timelines

One thing I really liked about the episode is the little detail that Jakei put at 8:11 with how she colored Geno. It immeadilty caught my eye as it feels like a reference to the artstyle of the original aftertale comics. Its such a small detail, yet its one of the many things that make this episode great.

I've waited for Fatal Error to come to Underverse for years, and I'm happy to say, it was DEFINITELY worth the wait. Underverse has an amazing and complex story, and even more insane animation, No matter how long it takes, Jakei always surprises us.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS DEPICTION OF FATAL ERROR!!! I love how the framing of some of his shots mimic the composition in Xedramon’s comics. The dialogue was impeccable- I loved the slow sinking realization that Cross and Ink had as they realized exactly who Fatal was and what he wanted of Cross

I just discovered this series a couple days ago, and I've already binge-watched it all. Not only that, but I've researched the AUs of these characters as much as I could! I've read any comic I can find, watched summaries, animations, anything I can get my hands on! I love complicated stories where everything connects, I love stories of multi-versal travel. I can't believe it took me so long to discover the world of Undertale AUs! This series has been like the Infinity War of UT AUs, and I have a feeling this second season is going to be it's Endgame :) So excited to see where this goes next, even though I'm way late to the party, like usual!
I'm not sure what's more impressive, the fact that this series is still going strong after all these years, or that you somehow managed to NOT ONLY animate Fatal Error, BUT MAKE A WHOPPING 3 MINUTE LONG SMOOTH AF FIGHT WITH HIM.
I know people are saying this left and right in the comments, but it's honestly hard to imagine how much work and detail went into actually animating this. Glitches are some of the hardest and most time consuming things to animate, and yet you pulled it off BEAUTIFULLY.
If anyone thinks of complaining about the episode being "only" ~16 mins long (excluding intro/outro), go rewatch that Fatal Error fight again, untill you change your mind. I personally find it hella impressive you've managed to release this only 10 months after the previous episode.
Congrats on 1 million subs by the way Jakei. Absolutely well deserved. The series definitely needs more recognition, not only by Undertale fans, but other people as well. Sure, if you want to understand the story well, you need to have knowledge about all of Undertale routes and even more about the whole AU rabbit hole, but i think even your average Joe with close to no Undertale knowledge would enjoy watching this because of how well the story itself is written.

Yeah, it's impresive, it's like he's truly beyond time and space, a superior entity that cannot be destroyed even by his alternative versions, he seems to be beyond all, only a watcher, a spectator
Ikr, even though he's only been in like 2 scenes, he left such an impact after telling X!Gaster off and then this amazing scene while cross and ink fight Fatal. Also I love how he doesn't even care after being sliced in half by X!Gaster, just squints his eyes and continues smiling(probably bc he still knows X!Gaster is doomed to failure). Also gotta love how X!Gaster doesn't even try overwriting him or doing ANYTHING really, he probably can't.

6:22 honestly, cross’s anger here is just very chilling. You can just feel the emotion without any audible expression, by the small details in the art, like him seemingly clenching his teeth by making the lines more jagged at the right side edge, and also the sadness & anger that occurs near the end, where the lines near his eyeholes twitch a bit. It’s incredible this got done in less than a year. Amazing job!

The appearence of the OG Gaster surprised me, he has an incredible presence, even superior to XGaster.
He looks like a god who knows everything, the only one who is beyond time and space, beyond reset and overwrite, only appearing to "laugh" at the most dangerous being in the multiverse. It's amazing.

These past 6 - 7 years worth of the Underverse series have been amazing. I saw this series back when 0.4 was recently released, and you can easily tell just how much better the animations get each and every part of the story.

Not sure if its just me, but for some reason Gaster's behavior in this episode reminds me a lot of how Gaster is in A Fatal Error Has Occurred, with him subtly pushing XGaster in a direction to where his plans will succeed, even if it means admitting an uncomfortable truth.
In the comic, Fatal eventually accepts Gaster’s guidance and does as he instructs, and his plan (partially) succeess once he does so.
XGaster on the other hand, refuses to listen to our Gaster, rejecting the idea that he might not be prepared for whatever plan hes trying to put into place.
Some really fantastic characterization going on here, good on you Jakei!
7 years waiting for Geno's arrival, the work you do animating and giving a gem of a chapter is really worth the wait, Fatal's appearance is simply wow, his fight showed that he is someone very strong and that he is a threat to Xgaster, my two favorite characters in one chapter, I can't ask for anything more 🤧.
I'm very curious about how all this is going to end, we just have to wait and see what will happen later, I love your work Jakei, good luck 🦄💕

For real I'm really happy that Geno got a treatment what he deserved by living in the UT Timeline like he had a family to be with and even UT Papyrus to comfort him and being a Separate Entity with Fatal_Error is just a Mindblowing that Geno mentions to X-Gaster that his Alternative self will deal with Him
Geno being a separate entity to Fatal Error isn't really that surprising. After all, Error is also an alternate version of Geno as well.
rewatching this, gotta say how much i love fatal
there's just so much detail put into him like when he grabs cross' sword, it says the word COPY 13:36
at the beginning of the fight, he talks about how much talk there's been about xgaster which could show that he's been watching silently throughout everything that's happened and knows about "their kind" for staying silent and refusing to act, letting his "worthless creations" take all the damage until the threat of fatal being able to actually damage xgaster thru his code which leads to the end of the fight.
fatal is a literal powerhouse, taking the loss of an arm like nothing and with strings that hurt a ton compared to error's that just controls others.
fatal wants to use xgaster's code for himself, saying that his code is calling for him and none of his creations will save him. i think this will lead to fatal being the one to fight xgaster and take him down OR be the one to collect his code when xgaster does eventually get defeated.
kinda sad to see cross getting caught in the crossfire (eyyy) but could it mean that later on, when fatal does eventually meet xgaster in the omega timeline or somewhere else for their "final battle," will cross get killed cause of it? xgaster is the type of guy to send his minions first and to play it safe after all.
so many questions, cant wait for the next one!

The animation is AMAZING! The animating of Fatal seemed more than a well done - it must be huge pain to animate him. And the conversation between X!Gaster and Original Gaster seemed very interesting, there’s a lot of potential in the relationship of them two!
We also see how powerful Fatal is in the battle - the damage he is able to do is huge, and the sheer craziness from his attacks and words, he is literally threatening to take X!Gaster’s soul through Cross behest getting sliced into half - he remains undead, so we don’t know if he’s gonna come back later to try and take the codes of X!Gaster again!

For years I've never really paid attention to credits but when i did i realized that this entire series was plotted and animationed by only Jakei, She's so hard working and i have extremely high respect for her that she can continue this series for so long on her own and Nyx for the music.

These episodes never dissapoint, they always give me chills of how outstanding the animations are with the music and storyteling. JUST AMAZING, Im speechless.
You gotta commend Jael for even adding Fatal animating him. And his constant glitching. While he is one of my favorites, he Is probably really hard to animate, when done the right way.
I also love how glitchy his voice and Text are. Barely able to be deciphered. And his strings They aren't just error like strings made from his blood, no their brutal and they hurt A LOT.
It was probably green screened in or something for the glitch effects, other than that, yeah the fight is beautifully choreographed

Yes. From Xtale Comic, to Underverse Season 1, to Xtale the Movie, then 21yrs Comic and now Underverse season 2.... It was nostalgia to go back from the comic.
The hype that I felt back when I first start to read xtale and watch the first episode of the series... I still could feel it.
... But reality hit hard that 0.8 will be the last episode before jakei decides to take her well deserved rest.
Its not fully confirmed, I hope she gets better in her own life and we get the sequel one day, even if its in five or ten years.
God I never stop feeling grateful for the amount of effort Nyx and Jael put into this series. They could have used their talents for other more profitable projects but nope,they stay persistent on this community of a 8 years old game. Jael is so damn awesome I feel like I don't deserve her works.

I remember watching this series as a kid and not understanding shit but still enjoying everything, now here i am back into it. The amount of care and efforts put into this is just mindblowing, not only the visuals and ost are amazing but the story in itself made me tear up and cry more than once. I’m OBSESSED with the switch to crayon queens art styles for a moment with Geno. that was beautiful! How the hell can you manage that digitally instead of traditionally? What a beautiful episode.
im sure im not the first to say it, but the sound that fatal's dialogue makes is so good, along with the rest of the sounds associated with him. most glitch type characters have pretty generic sounds, but his truly feel unique.
The passion it takes to make a series like this is both inspiring and admirable.

When geno said “there are many ways to break free.” A flash of error sans and fatal error appeared for a brief frame. Error sans, and fatal error are variants of geno. Error sans comes from a timeline where geno never changed, he stayed the same and had the goal to destroy the timeline where his friends were dying. Eventually geno isnt himself anymore, he is error sans now.
Fatal error is different, he is a geno from another another timeline one where error sans was going to destroy geno but failed. It ended up only making geno a bug that cant be squashed and he turned into fatal error.
Basically in the undertale AUs there are 3 geno sans running around, the one we met in this episode with another sans got his happy ending. The other geno got a bad ending and stayed in the menu screen becoming error sans and the other one was failed attempt to get destroyed by error and turned into fatal error (the one we see in this episode)

I can easily understand why fatal error crashed. I'll explain here a bit:
Basically, fatal error was trying to connect on Cross. And he did. As soon as he did, he was trying to reach X-Gaster throught Cross. And by that, he needed to keep ink away and unfocused and unware of what to do. After he got his chance when he stringed Cross, he saw and messed with his codes just to know what to do to get in XGaster's connection (as you can see on the Fatal's vision that he was clearly viewing XGaster.) Then, with that chance, all he had to do is a very brutal fatal blow for an instant kill OR an extreme injure. But, as soon as he was close enough... XGaster cut the connection between Cross and himself, making fatal lose his arm in the attempt while also crashing.
After XGaster teleported ink and cross to the main timeline, fatal error woke up. Knowing that this would "happen". But, he wouldn't be able to do anything as it's mostly impossible for now. So, all he currenctly can do is heal himself and try again.
But, Here's question: How did fatal KNEW exactly what to do just in mere seconds? We knows he's a very fast learner, but... Wasen't it too fast? Maybe fatal was watching everything since the beggining? We won't know for now. But, my theory is that fatal was watching everything since the beggining, learning and trying to think of a solution to stop this madness for some reason.
(We don't have those questions now, and ALL of that i wrote was a THEORY.)
They explain that the AT are able to remember/recognize all the events that happened to Classic!sans. Fatal is technically an AT, thx to Geno
Presumably xgaster corupted Geno's timeline and caused him to get the fatal error.
