That was literally brilliant. I’ll never not be amazed by the patience of GMs. Maneuvers the knight with 3-4 move that feels like forever, then walks the king over across the whole row just to free the rook up. After that it’s curtains, what a masterclass unreal
Along with Naroditsky, Simon's speedrun videos are the best chess content on yt. I still think going back to 800-1000elo and starting again is more instructive than games against 2300 players though, as most of us will never reach that level, no matter how good the teacher is!
If u upload TT and a video like this one once a week, that would be huge, cause u are uniqe chess streamer and coach, both educational ,fun and natural !
The combination of the Speedruns, TT, Longer Chess, and the one-offs (IQP, Bassman, Fischer, Adam Hunt memorial, etc) is a great smorgasbord and excellent template. Thank you!
Instructive game on how to put the opponent into utter passivity! Just a note: after planning a 4-move rout of the f3 knight to e4, without obstructing the defense of the b2 pawn, at 13:54 you go for the maneuver without noticing that black abandoned the siege of b2 and the knight can now be rerouted in just 2 moves...
Appreciated. I'm ~2100 and I've been watching a lot of Danya's videos since he has an abundance of videos vs 2000-2200s players. I appreciate this more cause I'm an attacking player myself and enjoy wild lines
Great stuff! As fun as Titled Tuesday is, these instructional ones are gold. Really nice clear explanations of the concepts, and ideas, and straight forward demonstrations of putting those into action. Great stuff that can benefit any level of player. Keep 'em coming.
That was a really clean positional game. I guess I'm starting to realize that the joy and satisfaction from studying positional games like this is by no means less than Tal- like tactical brilliances.
You can often win games with delaying decisions, i rmemeber peter leko saying he had a good advantage in a drawish game and he played 40 moves of nothing to tire his oppoent out then proceded with the plan and he won !
Ginger you madlad, I wont give up asking you to play the polish opening (1.b4) :D and show us how to do it. You really do like odd and highly tactical positions which I think do arrive out of the polish very often. It would be greatly appreciated. Best of luck for 2025 and greetings!
So glad to see you posting video's again Simon! Sad that you had to end 2024 with losing a good friend. Cheers to 2025 will be good for you both in terms of your chess, health and economy! We all root for you Simon❤️ My favourite GM🤟🏼
Finding the best squares, maneuvering Knight from f3 to d3 is what a GM can play because we could maneuver the Knight from f3 to g3 when queens were on the board and I think it's a mistake, finding d3 for the Knight and rerouting the Knight to g3 after queen trade is a strategical decision it's not just about the Knight on the best square
Simon is awesome! I feel your opponent misevaluated when going for the queen trade. I bet they thought they were doing well with the queen trade but never realized they had no way to improve, whereas white did
Simon,I hate people who wait for their opponents to make a blunder, sitting back with nothing in the tank .As Fischer said they have no creativity themselves.

Clear and concise. Might be my fav ginger GM video yet. Nice one
Not boring at all. What a smooth game! Annoying how easy u make it look

Not with that attitude! ;)
I always like watching videos where the GM plays someone 100 or 200 points higher rated than me.
He needs to get admin permission so he only gains a small amount of elo after every win, he progressed way too quickly

This is brilliant Simon 😊
I learned more here than you can imagine
I liked this video. Not boring at all! More please.
Thanks, Simon. Fun and instructive, I feel smarter chesswise already. Cheers!
This was excellent - really helpful. Thanks!
You make it look easy.
Titled Tuesdays are great. Still love the speed run videos. Any day there content uploaded by Simon is a good day!
Simon consistently thinks about his opponents next move
beautiful game, Simon, loved all the maneuvering and the patience.
Brillian. As always very informative and entertaining at the same time. I should recommend you to my club pals.

We have been waiting a long time for this! Love your content!
Nice game and a great explanation of your thinking. Thanks, Simon!

that game went down SMOOOOOOTH like a pint of Guinness in your favorite pub
Even better than Titled Tuesday!
"Sometimes you can win games without making decisions". That's some great advice mate
Qe2 anticipating his bishop move is very instructive.
Fantastic lesson thankyou 👏. You make it look so simple 😂. Really like these London System variations and ideas.
Fantastic content, so interested by the thought processes going on in this game.
Love your speedrun videos Simon.
As long as you’re playing chess, I’m watching. Thanks for the content, Titled Tuesday and/or Speed Run..
Nice work bro

Enjoyed your commentary during the world blitz man, thank you sir!
Wow, how a GM manoeuvres his pieces is a treat to watch . Simon Williams is up there with Dania or Eric Rosen for teaching
I Love these games! I learn so much! ❤
Love these
Great content. Thanks Simon!
Nice one, ver instructive, thank you very much!
Love it, thanks❤
Excellent. Thanks Simon.
Great game Simon. Thank you🙏

Extremely instructive
Great video- I ❤ the torre
I will buy your fritz course unless you have a chessable coming out !
Thank you!!!
Hi Simon. Please make a video on punch ups in chess, featuring GM Williams, GM Howell, and GM Gormally!
Very good
How to use a knight like a pro - what a sensational game!
Win games by delaying decisions , reminds me of the quotye from a famous gm that i forget who said the threat is worse than the excecution.
it's perfectly perfect

I think Ginger would rather eat glass than play 1.b4
What an expert game
Let's go!
Hey simon are you still coming out with a new richard rapport dutch course??
So glad to see you posting video's again Simon!
Sad that you had to end 2024 with losing a good friend. Cheers to 2025 will be good for you both in terms of your chess, health and economy! We all root for you Simon❤️ My favourite GM🤟🏼
As a wise philosopher once said, sometimes one must look outside oneself to look inside oneself. This is exactly what happened in this game.
Opponent Bf8 in end game to dominate your knight on e4 would surely have forced a draw as the rook end game you have no pawn breaks
Nice

At 14:39 wouldnt 1.Nd6 be better? How does he protect f7?
14:37 maybe Nd6 was better because black can't defend f7
Carlos Torre, not the Phillipino, Eugene.
Boring!?? No mate.
Simon is awesome! I feel your opponent misevaluated when going for the queen trade. I bet they thought they were doing well with the queen trade but never realized they had no way to improve, whereas white did
Not boring at all. I wish I could beat a strong player without calculating! Also, I wish I could beat a strong player.☺
Simon,I hate people who wait for their opponents to make a blunder, sitting back with nothing in the tank .As Fischer said they have no creativity themselves.
He did not just wait he delayed the tactic. Which is creative in and on itself.
Btw waiting for oponent to do a mistake was Kasparov main tactic...
Do another speedrun bro, don’t stop 👍👍👍
