Team USA's Outside Hitter and Olympian Silver Medallist Jordan Larson shows you this week how you can improve your Jump Serve in Volleyball! The big advantages of a Jump Serve are that it comes with a higher Velocity than a Float Serve and the opponent team doesn't know what to expect. The most common mistakes are definitely the timing and the toss, so remember:
1) Toss high and in front of you
2) Approach and hit as if attacking
3) timing the toss takes practice

after playing volleyball for 2 years, i started learning this about 6 months ago and i can’t get it down. this was super helpful :D
I don’t play volleyball but I’m watching just in case I have to step in during a company picnic in the future or smth lmao
Oddly specific
@@Bobba7 bro is thinking about being an uncle.
@@Bobba7 I think it's a reference to an episode of The Office lol
in that case, do not even think of trying this. simply do it from underneat and be thankful if it works
@@ercanonge527 a company game is the perfect time to be bold. imagine if she nails the ace that's a promotion on the spot
I dont even play volleyball: *and I'm still watching*
Same lol
@@corporateliquidator5357 I dont even know the rules😅

Whohoo back in the time when Jordan Larson jump serves everytimee😅😆
She is a very cool athlete!
It’s so cool Jump Serve👌
Larson is one of the best in the world.
Ohhhh thanks for teaching us to jumpserve finally
Thank you so much Mrs.Jordan you really helped with my jump serve. Thank you so much, couldn't have done this without you.
Learned more from this video than my volleyball noob coach has ever taught me haha
You have one of the most incredible topspin jump serves, Jordan!
Coach Kiraly begs to differ. He said it doesn’t generate enough pressure to the opponent. Hence, she switched to a float.
i wanna do this in game to make my teammates go crazy :)
Thank you!
Extraordinaria jugadora. Toda una leyenda en el voleibol mundial. Una guerrera con los mejores remates mágicos. Inigualable. 😃👍
Timing is so much harder then it looks 💀 I keep throwing it too far, not far enough, or not high enough.
Then it’s your toss that is the problem. Not timing 😒
@@koneyisland1432 Toss is the problem but it affects the timing hence the timing is off.
@@rengab137 it all start with the toss; you have to find the perfect height and distance that works for your timing and make it consistent. Otherwise, it will be a egg > chicken argument.
But what do i know, im not a coach 🤣
it's really amazing
_+_ Jordan Larson is an excellent volleyball in the world

i have been trying this or smtg similar for the last couple of days with a palm size small ball. i already watched your tuitorial couple of times to see the details, as i experienced many times before nusnces make it work. let's say tossing with slightly bended arm. first righ foot is little bit in front. running to the ball, jumping and hitting in a straight line. visualizing body posture and mouvements and imitating it. actually imagining myself doing it like pros do it. if i keep practising , suddenly it starts working
Thanks Mam
Im watching this just now but I saw it live when yo uwon the gold medal ily
Awesome mam
That's the vid for the middle-school Kageyama so he would stop bothering Oikawa-san xD
I'm already able to do a jump serve, I'm just trying. To make it stronger. My goal is to go pro in volleyball and prove my stupid guardians wrong!!
Hey I am also learning jump serve
Can you please give any tip for me
Something you wish someone told you before
I am having some struggles with my hitting timing :(
@@Sameer-sl5oe Hi! Timing is one of the hardest parts of a jump serve. Like a normal serve you have to have a solid toss, after knowing where to toss and how hard to it will be much easier.
I would suggest starting out how she is explaining in the video, but before going straight into hitting jump up and catch the ball at the highest point possible. This will help your brain embed where to toss it
lmk if this helps :)
Beautiful 😊😊
Go Big Red
When I have the same Mikasa ball but doesnt know how to play vb 🕳🚶🏻♂️
I have the timing and the toss but I tend to “twist” my body mid air which makes for a bad hit and weird landing.....help mee
You twist your body? Who are you, Ryuk?
Day 2 of practicing this kind of service
Amazing!
For me, it’s like I have days where I could jump serve really well and then I have other days where I can’t jump serve well at all kind of Depends
Just from watching that serve I know exactly what I’m doing wrong
Same I also came here to learn this because of kageyama not oikawa
和职业学排球发球技巧,cool
Does she use a jump top spin or a jump float? I couldn’t really tell the difference
She has so little arm action and "strength" that I see why you are confused. Don't look at woman volleyball to learn how to jump serve.
@@Gryffon3 she also has little to no jump height
And a GOLD in 2020(1)..

Yes, and I have successfully learned the jump serve, quite powerful and great to rack up points. I don’t know why Haikyuu has made me volleyball, but I love it
Same lol

mikasa:) i have one but they are expensive 😳
@@luvmads9396 yup..
How high would you say to toss the ball cuz my small brain can’t comprehend •_•
Depends where you’re more comfy or effective
When it falls back down, it should be able to contact your hand at the peak of your jump. This of course would vary depending on how long your approach is.
It’s a pretty gray area and varies from person to person, hence why the only tip that can really be given is practice.
can you dunk
Who else started playing volleyball because of a haiku
Who’s here because of haikyuu
