Crazy, I worked in the ER/ Trauma Unit on the ground floor as well as the Surgical. ICU on the 9th Floor and Coronary Care / Cardiac ICU on the 10th Floor back in the late 90's , early 2000's. City Park was a great place to work back then. The one room you asked what the pendants hanging from the ceilings were. Those were the operating theatres and the pendants house the outlets /pipelines for Oxygen, suction, nitrous oxide etc as well as power outlets for the anesthesia machines in the theatre. Those theatres all had amazing views of the city.
To many hospitals that closed down but yet our people sit in long rows at now a days hospitals, not the first video of a closed down south african hospital I've seen, I think I saw another closed hospital video that was a hospital in Kempton park, but yeah it's funny how we have empty hospitals but the functioning hospitals are the ones where you sit in long waiting lines
hie i would like to interview you on the abandoned hospital vlog, I'm a researcher on infrastructure development issues. how can i get in touch with you
@@WolfeandcoArchive I heard it from someone that had a certain level of clearance in the apartheid time. He was only allowed 3 levels down apparently. Other than that I have no info, but would really love to know. There are many secrets of the past. If I ever find something interesting I would let you know.
This is the old hospital. If you watch the video, the transition to the new facility (with the same namesake) was explained in detail. This building is disused, and the carpark used for surrounds. Thx

The old Christian Barnard Memorial Hospital should be declared a museum..
Thank you...
beryl thienhaus thank you!
Abandoned places are always so trippy. I wonder what they’re going to do with the space...
Steph apparently to be converted into appartments!
That will most likely be super pricey...
The blacks will probably say it's their land
It is a shame that this hospital is abandoned.
Jy het gevra wat is daai goed wat van die dak afkom, met die ronde gekleurde gate in. Dit is vir die gasse wat hulle gebruik. Soos suurstof ens.
Thank you very much for this! :)

The place I received the worst news ever...I am glad it's decrapitated!! Dunno why they don't donate the equipment to free clinics in the townships

Great question! It was unfortunately demolished 😭
