Whatever you do, DON'T follow Emmy's 'small batch easy kimchi' tutorial. It's terrible and you will fail yourself, wasting your time and money. Plus you'll be disappointed when you go to taste it. It's a famously bad recipe. Go for Helen's at Modern Pepper if you're ever wanting to make a smaller batch of kimchi. And of course, Maangchi's original recipe. I combine both their advice and have nailed the technique now. Good luck in YOUR kitchen, whatever you experiment with this coming winter.
Yesssssss sis, this is the best way to make fufu! The powder tends to have multi-color streaks in it sometimes like red, green, even pink and its scary to put something so obviously synthetic in our bodies!! Thanks love!
@@Obaapasrecipes Tropiway are now proudly advertising that they're 'free from artificial colouring'. I guess enough people were dubious and put off and the company listened to this unflattering feedback and made improvements. Good!
I'm Senegalese and we don't eat fufu, but I learned how to make it without pounding. I love many Ghana dishes and found the time to learn how to make my Ghana foods.
Since when, because I've never heard this. I know alot of west Africans dont like fufu. Im Senegalese also and my whole family and friends eat fufu. Im here for my Ghanaian husband, i want to learn the Ghanaian way.
Sis, I just tried the fufu for the first time and turned out perfect. I had it with light soup, with some dry meat , dry fish, beef and mushrooms. Just like Ghana fufu. No more buying of fufu powder.
EVEN THOUGH I LIVE IN NORTH AMERICA, AND ORIGINALLY FROM SOUTH AMERICA, I'M AFRICAN, I AM GHANAIAN, I CAN TELL BY THE FOOD YOU'RE EATING, THAT'S THE SAME KIND OF FOOD WE EAT BACK HOME. THANKS FOR THE SHOW, NOW I KNOW WHERE I BELONG, JUST GOTTA FIGURE OUT WHICH TRIBE. I'M HAPPY NOW.
Thanks for sharing Obaapa, fresh plantain and cassava are the healthiest way to eat fufu, powdered fufu is mixed with color or chemical , will definitely try it AAA plus for you!!

I tried to make fu fu and the cassava smelled so badly the second I peeled it that it almost stained my knife, chopping board and entire kitchen with the odour. I binned it and washed everything immediately. It looked fine and I wondered if it was supposed to be so pungent, that maybe it was just ME that didn't like the smell. Maybe I'll try again. Is there a way you can tell in the supermarket when choosing cassava if it's bad or not (aside from obvious squishy bits, bad smell, mould etc)? Mine looked fine to me, but then again... I really want to try again. This recipe looks astonishingly easy. Thank you so much for uploading. I won't give up. 😀
Wow, that's nice i wanna give a try. When you were pounding you seemed to be adding some liquid to give a smooth shape and avoid sticking, what is water or cooking oil?
Just came here from from watching Emmymade’s video where she credited this channel for the recipe so I have to come see it for myself!!! Love it!!!
Same!!
Me too

Eiiii and I haven't been eating FuFu two years now thank you am going to prepare some.
GIRL! New sub because this is amazing! I don’t have to bug my African friends to make this for me now. 😋😋
Thank you, from a English born Jamaican, you made it look easy, next a easy soup or stew with lady fingers (orka)
Sista! Try cooking on stove instead of nuking the goodness (B17) out of the cassava by microwaving!
Raymond Rugemalira how long would you need to cook it on the stove? I don't have a microwave.
Angel Hardrick till it’s soft n well rounded, say about 10-15min
@Raymond, microwave or stove is not the issue for the B17, its the heat. Both creates heat.
