Tons of cool ways to play this faction for sure! I find myself going Money Mart a lot! But I like them all. It can depend highly on what factions you are up against!
I think, that crafting a favour card is just more powerful and brutal way to win. Once I did it and I was too powerful, that my three friends called me Russia and removed me from the map. But I scored the last two points using the Riverfolk company and won. But I cannot count with it every game. I like, that I can do it only in a few games.

Feel like it’s worth pointing out with some of the “2 clearings so you can defend your buildings at all costs” that the lizard cult can just sanctify your buildings and make your moles very sad. I do like the smol mole strategy though - that seems like a good way to minimize the damage the lizards can do…
There is always going to be something that can take your buildings away. But I would still rather bunch them up than separate them even with lizards in the game! Smol mole to start is always good
My favourite faction. Balanced around a tiny action economy with the goal of patching that weakness, and once their engine is running they're a damn nightmare.

What if the corvids took a card from you before you had your go? This is in adset and then you start with only 2 cards. You can’t get another card by other means, and there are lizards that could stop any building. What is the best plan of action then?

Hi. I've been wanted to play root and will finally get my base game. However, I only play with my boyfriend (we dont really have friend that is into game). Can you recommend me some setting or match up that works well with only the base game? I consider buying the clockwork but will decide after seeing how much I enjoy my first root game. Thank you
At 2 players, the only viable matchup would be cats vs birds. For 2 players, I’d strongly recommend getting the marauder expansion as that adds five additional matchups (cats v badgers, cats v rats, birds v badgers, birds v rats, badgers v rats) as well as some hirelings which greatly enhance 2-3 player games. If that sounds like too much of an investment, I’d recommend at least getting one of the small hireling packs. They really are that good! Still, marauder would be your best bet. Hope this helps!
