- Just who is the sulfur god? In this video I will explain all we know about the sulfur god and who he is, as well as some theories on the sulfur god in the fear and hunger universe.
Following the Huge success of the last fear and hunger video, here is some Lore to go with it.

I don't necessarily think the cultists' faces are "painted" blue, it could be they were "scorched" blue, as sulfur burns with a blue flame.

Thank you! It’s been bugging me so much that they are painted blue and not yellow but I couldn’t figure out why!
Well, sulphur burns with a blue flame, but to my knowledge it doesn‘t paint things blue. If you burn yourself on a blue flame (sulfur, ethanol, methane, etc.) or any other color of flame like green (copper), you get the same burns as if you burn yourself with an orange flame. The skin damage is caused by the heat and not influenced by the colour of the flame. That just doesn‘t make sense. Sulfur doesn‘t produce blue soot that could cause the colour or anything either.
Yeah, but it is consecrated sulphur (, or profaned?).

Your theory on Sulfur being the basest form of humanity in the Satan segment towards the end actually lines up with Laveyan Satanism. Maybe that is an inspiration worth considering
After researching what you said, yes. That is exactly what I was getting at. Although I can't write that well so I couldnt get my thoughts in the video exactly. I'll heart this comment to make up for my poor writing skills lol
@@Pugsrpriest, here. What's interesting is that this lore is far more compatible (theologically) with something like Gnosticism. I can see a Gnostic understanding trying to deal with Jesus as actually incarnate providing this sort of explanation (the one where Jesus ascends and sheds his human flesh, and that flesh becoming evil).
Fun fact: in real life, Jesus actually retains His Human Nature to this day. He never sheds It.
I think the interpretation of the sulfur god is the Jungean shadow self of all-mer makes sense with how lore describes him. They say as all-mer ascended his discarded side became Sulfur, which would also explain how other members see him as liberating. He basically makes sulfur cultists lose control of their shadow and become serial killers. If he really gave just freedom we would see a very different group of cultists.
Something interesting I haven't seen anyone talk about in terms of how the cult members look:
The scarabs from the first game have the same half white, half blue faces. I doubt it's just a coincidence too, and I doubt they've painted their own faces (though that doesn't mean the ones you mentioned haven't). I desperately want to know why that is.
Thats actually a really good catch. I never noticed that. Scarabs do look like that. There could be a connection.
Might just be me reaching but doesn't the Crow Mauler also look like a member of the cult or that he's at least a monster whoose powers come from the Sulfur god? His color palette used the same general reddish hue Stiches and Needles use.
When you mentioned that Sulfur could be inspired by satan, i also noticed that per'kele's pose in 8:33 kinda looks like the baphomet, a figure associated with satanism. Literally got Legs crossed, 3 horns, one arm pointing up at the moon the other to earth and is a Winged human goat thing
Everyone comments about how Needles looks like the clown from Terrifier but no one comments about how stitches is obviously supposed to resemble Marilyn Manson in The Beautiful People music video.

Sulfur is one of the three primes of alchemy and has other methaphoral meanings but always contrary to the salt, most likely Alll-Mer...

While I think the theory that what is worshipped in Europa is not Alll-mer, I’m not 100% sure its Sulphur either. I think we have a trinity here. The figure in the center mural of the Cathedral looks an awful lot like the Yellow King. I think its like at some point Le’Garde appropriated Alll-Mers image and worship, at least in Prehevil.
The duality of allmer and sulfur along with their very strong hints at being two sides of the same coin if not being the same person reminds me of the old polish gods belabog and czernobog. They were often thought to be two aspects of the same demiurge apearing in different forms and meaning drastically different things depending on the situation

My theory is that all-mer the God is made up of the Super ego while the sulfur god is made up of his id. One does things by what he thinks is socially appropriate to do (killing a bunch of people for killing you could have been seen as fair in the culture all-mer was brought up in), while the other does things by what he subconsciously craves to do.
The best representation of all-mer I see is less of a Jesus figure and more that of Baal. Albeit, baal is better known today from his other name, beelzebub. And the two representations of him are starkly different in terms of appeal and morality.

The S Endings of each character are still missing, and there is a new zone incoming too. Data miners found bosses sprites who are not present in the game. This game is still incomplete to know everything about this god

Just a quick question. Do you get any dialogue from new gods about the sulfur god? In fear and hunger 1
kinda late to the party but when it comes to the Sulfurs god symbol, a part of me speculates if perhaps there's more to it besides just the alchemic interpretation, and maybe it can also be interpreted as the relationship between All-mer and the Sulfur god, at least with how other people view them?
To explain what I'm talking about, I looked at the symbol in a more symbolic view and through about how each part could relate to the two gods: The downwards cross at the very bottom could represent the original body of the two, and the two triangles being the ascended forms, with All-mer being the bigger triangle and the Sulfur god being the smaller one.
The bigger triangle looms over the small one, representing how All-mer is the more popular/influential one with a majority of people even several hundreds of years later still worshiping him, all while the smaller triangle is in the big ones shadow you could say, like how the Sulfur god seems to be a sort of forgotten god in a way besides the (seemingly) very small cult he has, since we only every run into 3 to 4 Sulfur cult members in Termina. But despite these differences the two triangles meet in the middle, given that no matter what, the Sulfur god and All-mer are undoubtedly connected since they were at once the same person.

Sulfur god just been salty because they were done dirty. Imagine been put in their position, having so much desire to move and feel something even no pain but they can't. Years like this builds a great need for pain relief so much it'd make a human so mad they'd not only wish the same upon people but also wish other people should have partaken in their hedonistic desires lest they end up like him... Discarded and used after they were to ascend to greatness and help humanity.
So, the real question is... Is the Sulfur god redeemable and if they reverse it and "cure" him would he psychologically be cured of the thirst of doing what he wanted most (to be free of pain and to be able to move)?

Guys i have a question. In the secret Rher fight, is the Rher we saw and the Old God Rher are the same beings? I thought Rher had departed our world long ago along with the other Old Gods. So how come he comes back?

i have a theory that the og sun god of mahbra died cause the rhea the moon god decide to block out the sun for one day and in that moment all mer killed the og sun and allowed all mer to ascend to god hood and also creating sulfer . and as petty as sulfer is he try to use the lingering power from rhea to get his revange on the moon god and I think that why he tainted these games also legraude or w.e (freaking loser)
