    Nicely illustrated. All great for those at a high level but likewise core strength training and rotational stability. I think for most people this is like gym work and can be fun for kids maybe. I do think there are so many issues of basic technique that trump this kind of thing and rather than agility I think flexibility is more an issue and avoiding injury often through poor basic technique and balance. Worth noting that a lot of these ladder exercises can be adapted using the tram or base line. Btw as one of the few coaches who wears glasses a short video on choosing the right frame might be helpful. Btw like the hair. Have you ever thought of a more athletic choice of glasses frame. I have had a nightmare with using glasses on court and have effectively given up and accepted the blur. Any thoughts?. Thx

    Do you recommend 4m or 8m ladder?

    • @TheTennisMentor
      @TheTennisMentor  3 роки тому +3

      Depends on your space… 8m is good but 4m can be put in smaller spaces!

    super

  • @southwestcoyoteproductions1479

    How many sets each should be done?

    • @TheTennisMentor
      @TheTennisMentor  Рік тому +2

      It really depends on what you want to get out of it… coordination warm up/cardio workout, and also your fitness level. I like to go 3 times through each one, it gives me time to improve my foot speed on each exercise before moving on.

  • @watcher687
    @watcher687 3 роки тому +1

    Nice video. Thanks. How often would you recommend this to be done, say if one wants to improve their agility and footwork ( rather than maintaining it )?

    • @TheTennisMentor
      @TheTennisMentor  3 роки тому +2

      It really depends on how often you play/train. You can incorporate it as a warm up for your training sessions, but it shouldn’t be your only training method. Sprint work is also important... as well as developing fast, light footwork, tennis players need big, explosive strides too, so I’d say balance ladder work with sprint work!
