  • This one is from about 20 years ago and still works great! I used to love this product back then; follow along as I give it a try once again.

Our company helped develop that over 20 years ago! It went off the market in 2009.

That's awesome! Any details you can provide? Seems crazy, but I love the history on stuff like this. Thanks!

The filter is what does the magic you can get any filter that plugs directly to the hose preferably a fliter with the lowest amount of microns will do a better job of leaving no spots on your vehicle

NOPE, will not work when using different brand of soap/shampoo.

Go-to Carwash replacement for the Mr. Clean Autodry carwash product that I use is AMMO NYC Hydrate, mist and wipe on with a damp microfiber towel to dry for a spot-free job. It is still more work than the Mr. Clean regime though.
I have tried using the Mr. Clean spray gun w/new filter and different soaps but did not achieve the water-sheeting results that the Mr. Clean Polymer soap does. I have also tried stand-alone water filtration units that soften the water and remove all the sediment, but it still does not give the results of the Mr. Clean kit.
From what I remember back when it was discontinued, I spoke to someone at P&G who said it cost more to manufacture than it retailed for.
All good things come to an end, while bad thing never seem to end.

I spent ridiculous amount of money on water filtration products because I assumed that this product works by removing impurities on water. Too late before I found out that I need everything on the kit for it to work including the soap.
