...and some 2 weeks later Fabi has won the Sinquefield Cup, Sinquefield Rapid & Blitz and the GCT!!!! What a champion, on the board and also off the board! Pure class.
This entire video of Fabi sharing his thoughts process, evaluation & choices at key junctures is absolutely positively fascinating & instructive on super GM level chess & Fabi humble good nature comes shining thru to boot. I think Fabi should show up at Sinquefield Cup exactly as shown in the thumbnail. 😂 The episodes with face-to-face are more enjoyable than the remote interactions. Great episode!
Fabiano Caruana's winning streak at the Sinquefield Cup has me reevaluating my life choices. I mean, I can't even win an argument with my cat, and here he is dominating grandmasters like it's a casual Tuesday evening at the chess club. Maybe I should start practicing my moves with my morning coffee. Checkmate, world - or at least my coffee cup!
Thumbnail for the win. I used to edit chess vids like this and the documentary feel/style has always been a winner. Especially when you have the talent, history and connections. Good Job M8!
Wow Congratulations on Winning the Rapid and Blitz, Sinquefield Cup and Grand Chess Tour! Even if your win may be a bit less spectacular then 2014 its truly impressive how good you performed this year. 119/137 possible Circuit points for example is just crazy. It may even be your best year so far!
I was just writing a comment about how I can't stand this chess set. I hate how shiny both colors are, and how not-at-all-black the black pieces are. But yeah, I mean it's likely an expensive chess set, so presumably it looks very appealing to most people, just not to me. I'd take a cheap plastic set over this one. Fwiw I think the shapes are pretty cool, but the shiny brown just bothers me to no end.
@@siIverspawn That's cool, it's good for people to have diverse tastes. Great content, I really enjoy your content and I am pulling for Fabi to become WCC. Random question, where did you pick up that excellent board and pieces?
What a marvelous time for chess it's so amazing all the insights, from one of the top players in chess today. Awesome work!, I have been seeing all the podcasts like a chainsmoker keep up the amazing Work❤
I remember watching the game thinking Caruana refuses to resolve the tension, refuses to capture the exchange, refuses to give Levon even a gasp of air to breathe. He kept up the pressure forever. Aronian’s rooks were just dead wood. It really is an amazing game. It’s the kind of thing Fischer or Kasparov would do to a much lower rated opponent. It takes nerves of steel to do that to Aronian. Even Carlsen would have taken the exchange and won prosaically, but Caruana wanted everything in this game, and he got it.
1:04:05 "The thing is, I wasn´t at all trying to win this game, like at all" I can really relate to this. Its just so boring to win in chess against some 2800s, a draw is a welcome change of result.
What an amazing game. Always a pleasure to see someone sacrifice material and stay in complete control. Also things like small small details such as Ng5 winning tempo and timing Na5 precisely and shuffling of rooks on correct files was tooo gooood. btw who asked to "check his pockets" ?
Its fun to learn from Fabiano. I find his style similar to mine therefore he's one of the players I learn from the most. Hope he becomes world champ soon. He is the TRUE world number 2. He deserves the title. (Given that the number 1 is not longer interested lol)
@LucyUna-ct3tj that's very interesting, Ding has always been impressive. But as of now my money is on Fabi. He's in outstanding form. While Ding never plays. Sadly
Ok, TOTALLY unrelated, the chess set they are using to demonstrate is beautiful 🤩. Anyone know of a set of pieces with simial quality on amazon or anywhere?
@@natalieharris3869 Honestly no, the Zagreb '59 have those alternating colored tips on some of the pieces which, personally, doesn't look good. It's just not the aesthetic that I like.

That fact that Fabi could’ve realistically won 9 in a row is absolutely insane
