    Fabiano and Cristian sit down to go over the games that changed history. The Sinquefield Cup 2014 was the highest rated event ever, with a FIDE average rating of 2802. Fabiano started with an incredible 7-0 streak, a score that hasn't been replicated since in modern elite level tournaments. Here is how it all went down!

      @@samuelkinnear1648Nope absolutely not winning the book. Because this will be a historical video for decades into the future,and nobody watching this video 10 years from now will care at all about today's petty chess drama. This video is much grander than that. Frankly all the comments even discussing cheating anywhere in this historic video are embarrassing.

      @@sa9245 Your problem is that you perceive a video like this the same way you perceive a Gotham chess video. You have no perspective or proportionality to your chess senses, you are just a casual fan zombie drone without any appreciation for real chess culture and chess history. Fabi's analysis in this video will be watched 100 years from now, the same way we read Morphy, Capablanca, and Alekhine. Anyone mentioning current petty chess drama in a historic video like this is pretty sad.

    You often hear of coaches recommending students to play through annotated master games in order to improve their chess. This video series is literally the best possible version of this idea.
    Fabi's analysis is amazing, and Cristian's questions keep the analysis grounded and enlightening. I'm going to rewatch these a few times in order to get the most out of this brilliant series!

    Fabiano Caruana's winning streak at the Sinquefield Cup has me reevaluating my life choices. I mean, I can't even win an argument with my cat, and here he is dominating grandmasters like it's a casual Tuesday evening at the chess club. Maybe I should start practicing my moves with my morning coffee. Checkmate, world - or at least my coffee cup!

    • @siIverspawn
      @siIverspawn 6 місяців тому +7

      I was just writing a comment about how I can't stand this chess set. I hate how shiny both colors are, and how not-at-all-black the black pieces are. But yeah, I mean it's likely an expensive chess set, so presumably it looks very appealing to most people, just not to me. I'd take a cheap plastic set over this one.
      Fwiw I think the shapes are pretty cool, but the shiny brown just bothers me to no end.

    • @chadmacgargle5311
      @chadmacgargle5311 6 місяців тому +3

      @@siIverspawn That's cool, it's good for people to have diverse tastes. I don't much about how expensive it is but it comes with a Billy Goat to ward off trolls, which is essential, and I like the thickness of Pawns and Rooks. And the board itself is seamless, which I find very appealing. But also, for me I like my pieces to have identifiers I want my Queens Knight and Kings Knight to look slightly differently and each Pawn to be recognizable in very small ways. So the minor imperfections make the set for me. It's less about how much a thing costs and more about how much fun you can have playing with it, it's a game.

      I remember watching the game thinking Caruana refuses to resolve the tension, refuses to capture the exchange, refuses to give Levon even a gasp of air to breathe. He kept up the pressure forever. Aronian’s rooks were just dead wood. It really is an amazing game. It’s the kind of thing Fischer or Kasparov would do to a much lower rated opponent. It takes nerves of steel to do that to Aronian. Even Carlsen would have taken the exchange and won prosaically, but Caruana wanted everything in this game, and he got it.
