I use the goo gone and an old credit card. I spray the goo gone first let it sit then use the credit card to remove the paper residue stuck to the mats. They look prestien when done. I have used painters tape and vaseline around the edges to keep to edges clean. Works really well.

I got those Yudu mats too and mine were not sticky at all so I used a solution of 50% Aileen's Tack It Over & Over and 50% water before I even cut with them. I only put one light coat on the mat and it was perfect. A little goes a long way and it's very inexpensive. I also masked off my mats like you did then just used those foam brushes that Michael's always has on sale. I've used the solution to restick old mats too. I don't always remove the old adhesive but I do clean them well. I love it so much more than the Zig glue. Thanks for sharing these tips with us :).

Just a little thing I figured out. If after you clean the mat with the Awesome cleaner, blow dry with a warm blow dryer to dry it off...instant sticky. Seems to reactivate the "stick."

I used Elmer's Craft Bond, it seems to work pretty well and not real spendy. The one I bought is the 11 oz. can of spray adhesive multi-purpose temporary or permanent bond, fast tack, use on multiple surfaces. Acid free.....I got mine at Walmart, for like less then 6 bucks.

Thank you for this video. I can't believe how much I have spent on new mats. I saw another similar video using the goo gone and it made it squeaky clean. Every bit of residue came off.

For resticking my Cricut mats, I use Aleens Tack It Over. I put one part glue to one part water in a container, seal off the mat using tape, and brush the glue mixture on. My mats last a long time, the glue is cheap as a little goes a long way, and this process has been successful for me:) Thank you for your tutorial:)

When in a hurry I use scotch tape to hold large card stock down. It works ok. I got this tip from another UA-cam video. Note: I like the original cricut mats better. Thanks for sharing though. I also use the two way glue when I have time..

I've found if I use the Zig Two Way works the best. I've even used some spray I got online. I can't remember the brand, but one can took off the gunk, and the second puts the sticky back on. But they never worked for me. So I always go back to the Zig. Thanks for your input. Jess

I never knew the tip for using a baby wipe to clean off the lint and I will definitely try that now. My mats seem to lose their stickiness pretty fast. I also use the Crafters Companion spray to restick my mats. I don't use the Stick Away spray because the first time I tried it I had an asthma attack and couldn't breathe for 2 days. The Stick & Spray does not bother me.
I think I am going to order that big Zig glue pen. I have a small apartment so finding places to use these sprays isn't easy!

Thank you! I am new to all of this. I was wondering what to "wash" mats with, beyond the scraper... I Did buy a set of 12x24 mats, 2 pk, on sale, and, because I don't yet do anything larger that 12x12 paper, I cut them in half, ending up with 4 regular stick and 2 strong adhesive mats for $22... I think that's a decent deal. Now, to find the zig 2-way, in the larger nozzle like you used here!! Thanks for the tips!

I use to do all the scrubbing in my kitchen sink before resticking and I've tried spraying adhesive on them. Now I just wipe them with the baby wipe, use my heat gun to dry them and then use the zig two way glue pen and the heat gun again and I'm done in minutes. I never scrub any more and the adhesive hasn't built up on them at all. No more scrubbing for me!

Hi Melody, Great video, I have never tried baby wipes on my mats, I only have the 2 mats that came with the machine, I think they are very expensive for what they are, One mat I only used once and I used glitter card on it and after that it was ruined, Nothing else would stick to it, Even tho you can't see any glitter or anything on the mat, I will have to get one of those zig pens, Thanks for the tip, Hugs Rosemary =D

Darleen I've listed what I use in the comments below (10/21/15). I hope they are helpful. I didn't realize the request already came from Melody's video, so sorry for the confusion of pointing people back to her. The question came up ob google with no direct tie to Melody. I hope this helps. There are many options for resticking the mats, I choose the spray because its quick and easy for me. I bought my spray from a store out of business , but I do remember that Bee Creative.com sells the spray. Ek success big stick is sold at M's, J's and HL for convenience. Good luck.
