    I water down some Aleen's Tack it over and over glue and brush it on with a make up sponge. If you want high tack than use less water or if you want low tack than use a bit more water. Works great for me. It looks like a factory made mat again.

    OMG THANK YOU! I accidentally stumbled on this old video. I've only been using a cricut a few months and at times my paper catches and ripped. I was getting so frustrated. Didnt understand what I was doing wrong. Once again my dear you are amazing. God bless.

    Oh my goodness! I bought a Pazzles several years ago. My first project was a baby album and halfway through my papers all started tearing. I thought it was the blade, which is not as easily found as a Cricut blade. I just gave up. I am so excited to try this and finally get to use my machine! God bless 💕

    Thks for the video, Maymay. I have also used spray adhesives, & Aileen's tacky glue watered down with water. But I have to agree with you, the Zig 2 way glue (broad tip), works the best. So easy to use, and no mess or fuss. U rock, Maymay. :)

    Thanks for the tip. So many other videos went straight to stripping off the original adhesive and putting a new adhesive down, which could void my warranty. I'm glad you suggested the baby wipes and washing with hand soap and cold water first--that did the trick! Happy crafting!

      +yoemejamut how you treat your mats won't effect your warranty. No worries there.

      I followed your great tutorial and it worked out very well. I actually like the way it works better than a new mat. I only applied once and let it dry overnight. It sticks very well and also the cuts come off without damaging the paper. I also don't think that adhesive bits are staying attached to the paper cuts as much as the original mats. It's a great idea and I appreciate your sharing!

    Hi Maymay, I love to use the goo gone and take all the sticky off then I use the Aileens tacky over and over glue mixed with water. I love it and works great. I knew about this one because Melody had showed this way on her videos, but I went the wet glue way. And you just use your hands after it drys like you did to get it the right stickiness for me. But I love to try it with the jumbo zig, because I have try it with the small zig pen. Love your videos. Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks for sharing this. I have seen the spray version and I can't stand the smell of strong products. The first time I washed my circuit mat, I used Dawn dishwashing detergent and I did use hot water to start but turned the faucet off and proceeded to clean my mat. I then rinsed with cool water but once it was completely dry it seemed to be stickier than when I first used it. Go figure. Thanks again.

    Hi Maymay, love this tutorial! I have a question, 3 days before you put this video out, I used Dawn and a nylon scrubber. Unintentionally washed my mat totally clean. So I used the same glue you have to re stick. Accidentally got a few spots on the edge. What do you suggest to clean the edge of the mat?
    Is it ok if I need to wash it and re stick?

    • @MaymayMadeIt
      @MaymayMadeIt  8 років тому

      +Denise Solecki Tuttle you could wash it and restick it but you might could clean it with a qtip and some alcohol. I'd try that first.

    Question. I just got a brand new brother scan n cut 2. It came with only one standard mat and I haven't found the other mats to purchase. Since you have this machine I was wondering if you would send me in the best direction to purchase the other 2 types of mats. Thank you for sharing so many excellent ideas. You are the best and you explain everything so well.

    I have a quick question, can I use a cricut mat in the brother ScanNCut?

    • @donagreen3436
      @donagreen3436 8 років тому

      The Cricut mats are several times thicker so don't work well with the Scan N Cut without the hassle of adjusting your blade depth a lot higher. Seemed like too much work and nearly impossible to get a clean cut without going too deep into the mat. Hope this helps.

    • @BarbsCraftStudio
      @BarbsCraftStudio 8 років тому

      the Brother Mats have those dots on the top and bottom of the mat that the machine reads and the Cricut mats don't have those

    Hi maymay! I'm new to utibe videos & cricket (the 1st one!) cause I have ms! Only type with one finger! I love your videos and watch now instead of tv!! But I have a q jest ion? A friend gave me a product called Awsome to use to clean the mats with that she got from the dollar store. She was trying to show me how to use my cricket since I've had it for over 10 year and hadn't used it! But she brought me this Awsome stuff to try but didn't know anything a bout it! Have you heard of it? And why would it be better than just plain old dish washing soap? Thanks for your help if you have any!! Terry chicknhens

    I just watched how you re stick a mat. My question is trying to cut cardstock with scor tape on the back and it does not stick to mat. Just did a re stick, what do you suggest

    • @MaymayMadeIt
      @MaymayMadeIt  6 років тому

      It is probably because the scor tap release backing is made to be non-stick. I would imagine that it why. Just guessing though.
