@@gordocarbo the dream is an El Camino with enough grunt to pull a C3 corvette on Trailer and one of not both Harley in the bed. Likely an LS engine strapped to a T56 for good power and economy.

OK, not on rural farms, but in the cities, everything was louder and bigger and flashier. it was called "attitude". and yes, it was a cultural shock for farmboys--I was one back then :) The Ram Jet was for the older cruisin' dude who wanted EFI and not so much power he scared himself. His alternative was to search for TPI 305's in the junkyard, maybe a Corvette 350 pushing 245 hp. But old TPIs had wiring issues, and this was new and like they said, affordable to a rebuild after doing all the rust in your 57 Chevy. You may think 350 bhp is low, but if you want to tow a new project vehicle...you don't want a racing cam under the hood.

Shame they stopped se,lling the 350 and 502 ramjets those were great torquey st packages. Only way Id go EFI is if it was 100 percent GM dont trust aftermarekt crap to go 100k with n problems
350hp horsepower is just fine for the 4L60E. They handle up to 400hp completely stock. The 4L60E is just an electronically controlled 700R4. The 700R4 is a slightly beefed up TH350 with overdrive. They changed the name of the 700R4 to 4L60 in 93 and did some slight upgrades.
@@CamaroAmx ask any S-series truck owner what we think of that POS and you may think again lol. They routinely go bad around 135K in those trucks and the 1500s as well.
@@billymasoner3735 my 93 z28 has 177000 hard miles on it with its 4l60 and the only thing it’s ever needed was a pump seal and trans line. I work on those trucks all day long. The only s-series that had tranny problems I’ve ever dealt with was a 5-speed truck. I’ve been working on cars professionally for over 10 years in dealers, tire shops and independent shops and have been working on cars in general since I could hold a wrench. Fixing my own vehicles for 21 years, many my early ones came out of junkyards. You take care of it and know the limit and you’ll be fine. I personally can show you several Silverados with 250,000+ with their original 4L60Es in them some of them haven’t even had a fluid change in forever.

Whats the difference? 350 are cheap and can make tons of power easy. Unless you grab an LS3 or better, or stroke one its not worth the converison Wouldnt use an LS unless it was well over 400cubes
The average dummy usually puts a moving blanket behind the hood when installing or removing keeps from scratching to not a hand.. And your loud mouths shouting at camera probably explains the high thumbs up.... phew.
