    How do you guys not have more subscribers???? You are literally putting Australian sailing/living on the map in a good way. SO completely blown away by your knowledge of sailing and sealife around these alian waterscapes.

      Tell your friends! We are starting to pick up speed now after releasing our channel late last year. We could do more sensationalised headlines or show more skin, but we really like the audience we have from our low-key approach. Thanks for joining us and we hope you remain impressed with our work.

      You truly do not need any gimmick. That's what is so great about you two. Love the fishing. Can't beat Pascales giggles.

    I always knew that Australia is beautiful, but it never crosses my mind that it would be an allmost perfect sailing destination.
    Allmost is because of the crocs and sharks, on the other hand, they might also be the reason that there is such an abundance of fish. Or maybe just because these large predators are guards of such healthy seas. Anyways your Freerangesailing channel puts it on my map. Thanks to you both for the ‘down to earth’ way of looking at nature, sailing, living, fishing and food preparation!
    Kind regards, Ed

      @FreeRangeLiving  7 років тому +1

      Thanks EdOnEos. The summer is a bit light on wind though this isn't a problem through winter when the SE trades dominate the Aussie weather pattern. You're right, the lack of a major population provides for a magical wilderness in good condition to cruise in. That makes for certain challenges too but very worth it- come on down!

    This is the most fantastic channel. Informative, not overblown, constantly interesting and so engaging. I just love that you're out there doing it and not sensationalising it (like so many other 'sailing' (lifestyle) channels). The landscapes look incredible and looks like you more or less have it to yourselves. Thanks for putting this out there!

      Well in the unlikely event that you're looking to do the full lap of the continent, I happen to be at the helm of a pub right down on the coast of Vic. Often pretty inclement conditions down here, but you'll have a sympathetic ear or two (which are planning to adopt a very similar lifestyle to you two soon) and our hospitality!

    Troy on the tiller with his fishing rod in his other hand ... classic. And your insect screen for the hatch is similar to one I made for our companionway using an off cut of sheer curtain fabric and some discarded lead weighted rope that I scrounged from a crayfish hatchery. I just cut the fabric to shape and hand sewed the rope to the edge. A fantastic episode, I enjoyed it immensely.

    Just amazing videos of the very beautiful wild Aussie-land. Just wild to see that shark chasing the scared fish! But the way you guys just roll along with the nature and give away some great food-inspiration and yacht-tips is the best part of this. Thank you.

    Been crook in bed for 2 days and binge watched all episodes. Wow! Excellent production, fascinating, informative and really good fun. So inspiring to see you doing it with equipment that is accessible for most people (although you guys have skills most people can only wish for). And unlike old mate in earlier comments, I loved watching you smash back the fried oysters. As a long lost Sandroper and Territorian your videos really pull at the heart strings.... especially since I have a couple more months on the hard until the ice melts on the lake.

    That shark chasing that fish was awesome. We sail in the Bristol channel, river severn. The second biggest tidal range on springs it's 14 to 15 meters depending on air pressure etc. Our home port is Lydney the last navigable port up stream. Low water its sand and mud tide comes in and out in 3 hours, we leave the locked basin and always turn right with the tide. The water looks like chocolate milk horrible lol and on springs it gets pretty wild. Similar to your hole in the wall but no sharks and your water is so clear. That crock was something else to. 10 out 10 yet again bravo.

    I thought I was the only boat with a diesel day tank. I got the idea from the submarine I was on. I have a 225 liter main tank under the sole and a 55 liter day tank just under the deck in the quarter berth, which gravity feeds both the engine and the diesel stove. So far it works great. ... I've enjoyed watching your videos this evening. I'm re-building a Spencer 42 S/V Chasing Summer and hope to launch this summer. I hope to cruise the South Pacific.

    Awesome video, you never cease to amaze! Especially the well thought out boat, having a day tank setup and a deck washdown is a rarity on small vessels. And some other nice bits & pieces caught my eye but I guess that's for future episodes...
    And I totally agree on loving the modest approach, much better than SHARKS, CROCS, DANGER, LIVE THREATENING, ... as other channels might have put it.

      We like having those animals around as it demonstrates we are in a very healthy ecosystem and encourages self responsibility. We're really happy people like our more natural approach, thank you once again Horst.

    That's what I'm talking about tight lines always makes for great times. You might want to tie Pascal in, I thought that one was going to flip the boat. Keep up the adventures and thanks for bringing us along.
