- Being a city that grew on sea power, Chennai has had a long history of lighthouses. The first came up in 1795 and except for it the others are still here for us to see.

Dear Sriram, if you had been my history teacher, I would have fallen in love with the subject way back in my school days.

Great, your presentation, helps to visualize Great Madars history.
I was ten years old and was taken to this High Court light house in 1955 by my parents. The big prism glasses surrounding the light bulb attracted me lot.

எம்டன் கப்பலில் இருந்து வீசப்பட்ட குண்டு (அப்போது உயர்நீதி மன்றத்தின் மீது இருந்த)கலங்கரை விளக்கத்திற்கு அருகில், உயர்நீதி மன்ற சுவரையொட்டி விழுந்தது என்பதற்கு சிறிய கல்வெட்டு ஆதாரம் அந்த இடத்திற்கு அருகில் இருந்தது

கலங்கரை விளக்கம் என்ற பெயர் எதன் அடிப்படையில் வந்தது..
ஆங்கிலேயர்களால் உறுவாக்க பட்டதுதான் சென்னை..என்பது புரியுது..
அந்த "எம்டன்" கப்பலை செலுத்திக்கொண்டு வந்தவர் செண்பகராமன் என்னும் தமிழர்....
